Moments ago heavyweight contender Monte Barrett informed Boxingtalk.com that he has signed on to face WBA heavyweight champion Nikolay Valuev on October 7 or October 14. Barrett stated that it is his understanding Valuev has also signed for the fight and is just waiting to hear from DKP with the exact date and place
Montee is going to kick Valuevs ass. But it will be close enough to go either way.
Barrett could knock Valuev down 5 times if he wants. He still ain't winning. Not only is King involved, but it's taking place in Germany. The country where Sven Ottke is consider a boxing God. Yeah, Sven Ottke. You read that shit right.Quote:

Truefully.  He was an outstanding boxer.  With a great jab.  He had very good defense.  And his chin was pretty good. Problem was he had no power.  He had Sergio Mora power.  He also never fought outside of Germany.  That right there is why he's constantly bad mouthed.  He earned numerous, actually he was given numerous gift wins.  His wins over Charles Brewer (both of them) Byran Mitchell, Robin Reid (this one was really bad) Mads Larsen and Thomas Tate (the first one) were all gifts.  They weren't "it could of gone either way" wins.  They were straight robberies.  And they praise him in Germany for it.  The only thing I would say about Ottke was that he was active.  He averaged about 4 fights a year.  Which is unheard of for Champions today.Quote:

Ottke won I think by scores of 118-111, 115-112, 115-112. In reality Ottke won like 3, at best 4 rounds. Reid got robbed of a win that he won pretty easily.Quote:

Valuev dosn't have a hope of winning. He struggled with Ruiz. I'm not saying Barrett is much better, but he is a solid pro. Barret by decision in a bore fest.
Valuev will win this fight, he has improved since the Ruiz fight and brigns more dimensions now, i think he wins quite comfortably.Quote:

Valuev is underrated, not saying he's a world beater by any means, but he will be knocking Monte Barrret out.

what has barrett done to deserve a shot at the title? he lost to rahman i just dont understand why he is givin a shot and valuev when he knows he will get another lose on his record it sucks really.
Because Barrett is his safest bet, Valuev loses to everyone else in the top ten. What did Valuev do to get a shot at a belt? He's fought nobody. Look how many shots Golota got. At least it ain't for a championship just a belt

well i'll give valuev the credit he is stepping up from owen beck but i personally think skelton shoulg get the shot because he is getting older and he did what he was told to do and that was to beat williams and skelton gave 110% and i think after that performance he should be givin a shot beacuse valuev knows he will win and there in on harm done on his own behalfQuote:

Yup, as a Brit and a boxing fan, I have to agree here. Skelton has fought well to beat Danny, and when compared to Barrett, I think Valuev is taking a gimme fight here, where he'll cruise pst an overrated american, like many americans, and then people will be surprised\that he won.Quote:
