Drama - 'Failan' or 'City of God'... maybe lean towards 'Failan' slightly, because as of right now Choi Min-Sik is the best actor in the world, in my opinion.
Comedy - 'Monty Python and the Holy Grail'. John Cleese is the comedy master!
Action - 'Seven Samurai'. Not only is it the best action movie ever, but it is THE best movie ever, in my eyes. Flawless!
Suspense - 'Jaws'... it left a huge impact on me when I saw it as a child.
Horror - Hmmm... 'The Exorcist', 'A Tale of two Sisters', 'Kairo'... it's tough. Although not as scary as the movies I mentioned, I'm going to go for the Japanese classic 'Kwaidan'. More haunting than scary... and it is the most visually impressive film I have ever seen.
mm
everytime im ever asked this type of question my view changes, forget/remeber films, but some i always seem to mention are..
The Rock
the life of brian (not sure if many or any people outside the uk seen this)

The 'Zatôichi' movies were awesome! They had great pure action... same for the 'Lone Wolf and Cub' series. 'Baby Cart at the River Styx' was my favourite from that.Quote:

Have you ever seen 'Yojimbo', 'Rashomon' or 'The Hidden Fortress'? Those are all some of the many Kurosawa classics. Definitely worth checking out!
Absolutely , The Japanese films were all well written and directed, great acting and like you said story line were tops ! I have seen those you mentioned countless times, I am a huge fan of Martial Arts Cinema .especially old Samurai Movies.Quote:

Netflix is a must for the die hard movies fan, because they have an extensive library of such films that would normally be very difficult to find. Good luck !Quote:
