Like I said before..at 147 sugar is the only one who can beat PBF...
the power is too much for pbf..and shane will have more speed and footwork at the lower weight....
again not saying pbf couldn't win..but the shane has better chances...
shane by ud,sd,md,tko,ko...meaning he has 5 ways he could get the win...
pbf by sd, or md..only 2 chances....
even though i'd pulling pbf..he might get hurt against shane...their both in my top 5 and i'd like to pbf win only to stay undefeated but i think shane would be the kryptonite for the little superfloyd...
-
Re: Like I said before..at 147 sugar is the only one who can beat PBF...
nope Margarito has a good chance, and so does Cotto if he chooses to move up
-
Re: Like I said before..at 147 sugar is the only one who can beat PBF...
everybody has a chance to beat anybody..but margarito is too under skilled technically, and cotto is not ready..i'll make my decision on cotto after he fights castillo...but between cotto and margarito i think miguel would be a better comp for floyd..

Re: Like I said before..at 147 sugar is the only one who can beat PBF...
Well, I think some people may have an outside shot against him. Most likely a big outside shot. As far as Mosley goes, he's the only person I'm positive would beat him. There's no doubt in my mind. It wouldn't even be close.

I don't like Maywhether either, but unfortuneatly there is a BIG doubt in Shane's mind as to if he could beat Floyd. Otherwise he'd be jumpin at the chance to fight him.

Excellent point Hulk,CC bro. I don't think we can say that Shane would beat PBF based on him beating Vargas,it reminds me of people saying Oscar would batter PBF based on his win over Mayorga,2 completely different fighters, neither anywhere near as good as Floyd. Also, remember,Molsey slowed down big time in the first fight, how are we to know how his stamina is etc? I can't wait for Shane to come back to 147,that is the HOTTEST division right now and they need to make the big fights!!

Re: Like I said before..at 147 sugar is the only one who can beat PBF...
Anyone can beat anyone if the timing is right but the biggest fight out there is Floyd - Shane not Floyd- Oscar .
Dont get me wrong I think Oscar was great against Mayorga but styles make fights . The bigger picture suggests he's been inactive and has lost more than hes won recently . Hed struggle with a guy like Floyd after all this time . Whereas Shane has steadily been improving with recent performances . His speed was back last night . His footwork and combos have returned and his destructive power he displayed at 154 far exceeds anything Floyd could do . That fight would be be 50 -50 in my eyes . Still undecided cuz Floyds the guy showing his best form but Shane at his best walks right through him .

I agree, but one thing i noticed about shane last night (ok i was a lil buzzed, so maybe it looked more than it was:P) but i felt when he lets his hands go he leaves his chin wayyyyy open, and someone like floyd could make him pay for that...
I hope it happens though, it would be a great way to end 2006, or start 2007. I think the winner would go down to who trained right - but right now i think Mosley stops him in the 10th
-
Re: Like I said before..at 147 sugar is the only one who can beat PBF...
even if floyd counters shane all night, shane would walk through the punches and still be hurting pbf more than floyd would hurt him...this fight would seem like a man against a boy in terms of strength...shane is too strong for him..and on pbf best night with his best punch he'd never ko a legitamate 154 pounder with one punch...in fact i don't think he's one punch ko'ed any real contender..he put chico down more so due to the accumulation of punches and deterioration of chico's confidence...against shane though unlike all the others pbf has faced this is the one man who is still quick enough to catch him and he hits waaaaaay harder than anyone floyd has faced....a oh yeah vargas still may be ruined from the tito fight in terms of ability to take a punch, but he's a legitamate big man and shane koed him...even though pbf's hand was hurt he still never really hurt the ruined chin of judah...shane would win this fight..but i'd be pulling for pbf to stay unbeated, because i'm tired of hearing about marciano....

Re: Like I said before..at 147 sugar is the only one who can beat PBF...
hatton could probably beat pbf
-
Re: Like I said before..at 147 sugar is the only one who can beat PBF...
Mosley is not the only man who could possibly beat PBF....I think Mosley would have serious issues with PBF, especially moving down in weight....
Could be a game of cat and mouse....especially if Floyd makes it through round 6...
-
Re: Like I said before..at 147 sugar is the only one who can beat PBF...
Doesn't anyone remember seeing Wright handle Mosley? Floyd would school him
-
Re: Like I said before..at 147 sugar is the only one who can beat PBF...
mosley didnt do anything to all of the sudden Solidify his chance at winning a match against PBF
-
Re: Like I said before..at 147 sugar is the only one who can beat PBF...
That's right... he beat a Vargas who was proberly damaged as far back as the Trindad defeat
-
Re: Like I said before..at 147 sugar is the only one who can beat PBF...
How did Wright get involved in this conversation. 1) I still have no clue why Mosley was fighting Wright up at that weight and not smacking fools more his size. 2) Wright would eat PBF's soul. He's waaaay too big for PBF. We shouldn't even be comparing this. The dude just went 12 rounds with Jermain Taylor... wanna stick Floyd in there?
-
Re: Like I said before..at 147 sugar is the only one who can beat PBF...
It must be a nightmare being Floyd. Every week everybody clamours for him to fight the current hit of the week, accusing him of dodging and ducking and saying he needs to step up.
Hatton, Judah (until he lost to Baldomir), Margarito, Oscar, Mosely etc.
What makes me laugh though is that before their defining fights Oscar Mayorga, Shane Vargas everyone is writing off their chances saying such a fight would be a mismatch and they wouldn't want it on ppv.
Then they get a win, and all of a sudden Floyd has to fight them!
Poor man, damed if you don't, damned if you do.
-
Re: Like I said before..at 147 sugar is the only one who can beat PBF...
I bet the millions of dollars in his pockets make the nightmare easier live with. Maybe he can wipe away his tears with 100 dollar bills. ;)
-
Re: Like I said before..at 147 sugar is the only one who can beat PBF...
Oscar could beat Floyd, Floyd hasn't fought anyone like Oscar...ODH is big powerful and I doubt he'd be hurt by ANYONE at 147 providing he can make the weight
Shane would do very well with Floyd, his chin is better than Zab's and he uses more punches and has more heart than Zab.
-
Re: Like I said before..at 147 sugar is the only one who can beat PBF...
I still say Shane will not be able to figure PBF out... IMO He has never done well against a good jab, and Floyd has one of the best jabs ever when he uses it (vs. Corrales, Castillo 2, Hernandez). Mosley isn't used to fighting somebody faster than him, and I don't think he would be capable of fighting somebody faster than him.

I think even if Shane left his chin out to dry and let Floyd take free shots he still couldnt hurt him .
Floyd has to be th emost featherfisted fighter in the p4p top 10 . After seeing him land his bst shots on Judah and stioll have no effect it made me think he's guna struggle as he moves up cuz he already cant wobble the most chinny of fighters .
Floyd hasnt done anything in his entire career that suggests he is capable of handling Shane at his best . Question is will Shane be at his best ? Thats why I make it 50-50 anymans fight

I agree with that statement as long as you substitute "a good chance" with "a puncher's chance"
Seriously, how many people were saying how good and bada** Margarito was before his name got tossed in the mix with PBFs. Cotto is too slow and robotic...PBF would dismantle him.
I'm not a big Floyd fan but that's how it is.

actually oscar's the bigger threat, he's the bigger man and has a better style to beat PBF

CC back at ya. I found it a sad coincidence that Mosley knocked out Vargas in the same round as Oscar finished off el matador. But least Mayorga came to fight and to win. Vargas looked to only be there for a pay day, and just plodded forward with no gameplan. Point is, even after KO'n Vargas, Mosley ain't mentally ready for PBF. He was more worried bout his loose tooth last night, than fighting the so called best P4P fighter in the world.

Re: Like I said before..at 147 sugar is the only one who can beat PBF...
Agreed,I'm not buying into this Mosley-PBF hype just yet either. One of these bastards needs to fight Margarito!!! >:mad I like the Mosley idea:Tony-PBF-winner faces Shane.

Il go with that also . Shane needs a couple fights at welter first to get used to the weight again . Floyd can fight Margarito in the interim in November . Next may would be great to see the Mosley - Floyd fight but I duno where that leaves Oscar

Yea that would be a good scenario but honestly, there's no way Floyd would let it happen... That way Shane is the big shot who get's the way bigger payday and doesn't risk anything in doing so... Plus Mosley vs Margarito would probably be a more competitive fight imo, that's what I would wan't to see.. I think Shane could beat him soundly.
-
Re: Like I said before..at 147 sugar is the only one who can beat PBF...
I'd like to see Mosley fight PBF as soon as possible, he's Shane fukin Mosley he doesn't need any tune up fights to re adjust to 147. He's a blown up lightweight to begin with. But if he were to fight a guy at 147, I wouldn't mind seein him beat on Paul Williams to get ready for Floyd.
-
Re: Like I said before..at 147 sugar is the only one who can beat PBF...
Im not sure he will beat him but im sure it would be a damn good fight!
-
Re: Like I said before..at 147 sugar is the only one who can beat PBF...
anybody that mentions winky beating shane as a reason for pbf beating shane is stupid....winky is much larger than shane and would do the same to floyd in fact he'd probably stop floyd...but at 147 shane will be the more elusive one and the one with more power because he'll be coming down..floyd however has began to believe that he can sit in the pocket and catch punches all night since putting on the weight he doesn't move enough anymore to beat shane and iif he sits in the pocket with shane he will get hurt...pbf doesn't have the power to hurt shane...but shane has the speed and power to hurt pbf....someone mentioned that vargas was ruined by the tito lost...point is shane ko'ed him and he's not even a legit 154pounder...pbf could do that on his best night with his best punch...mosely at 147 ko's judah inside of 3...floyd never even wobbled him that's with his ruined post KT chin....
I've been saying this for months now..shane could beat floyd at 147...and the only reason most are saying shane couldn't win is because they're judging him based off what they've been seeing at 154...at 147 mosely will hurt floyd..period...
-
Re: Like I said before..at 147 sugar is the only one who can beat PBF...
Disagree. If Mayweather would have been at 147 five years ago, I might go with Mosley then, but Shane now isn't the same fighter he was then, I don't care what he did to Vargas. It's like people getting all excited about Oscar after beating Mayorga, another washed up hasbeen. Mosley is not nearly as fast as he was, and people thinking that him moving down in weight is all he needs to regain that speed are being naive. Once it's gone, it's gone. The guy's in his mid 30s, old for a boxer, and hasn't been in the ring with anyone as skilled as Floyd. Mosley has crazy skills 5 years ago, but now, it won't be anything Floyd hasn't seen before. Mayweather would breeze by him for an easy UD.

Great post except the part about Oscar being " another washed up hasbeen" easy mate ! Oscar is tops, everyone has these preposterous comments about the top fighters , based on what? moving up to 160 and getting beat by Hopkins??? Oscar at 147 is a top dog !

Can we not overrate Mosley because he knocked out Vargas please. What he did was use his jab a lot more often but he also still got hit with a lead right whenever Vargas decided to throw it and Vargas is much slower then Mayweather.
I would love to see the Mayweather Mosley fight, but c'mon he just beat Vargas..Vargas who is completely different then Mayweather in terms of skill speed and ability, Vargas only has an edge in power.

:o :o :o Starr talking sense and not being biased towards her fav fighters :o CC,totally agree, excellent points. Mosley beats Vargas,a battle worn, turtle slow Vargas and now he can beat the Pretty One. No way. Not until we see what he is made of@147.

Re: Like I said before..at 147 sugar is the only one who can beat PBF...
Its not the fact that he beat Vargas , its the way he fought . His combos were fast , he used his feet , he countered well , he hardly got hit and whens the last time you saw a 154 lb guy thatr quick ? A move down to welter will take the bulk off him and hel surely be quicker .
