I just saw it and he didn't say that. He said he will leave a bigger legacy then Ali, Leonard, Robinson, etc. by fighting(and dominating) in more then one weight class.
He did not. He said his goal is a legacy to have people call him the best ever. He never said he was better then any of them, he said it was his goal to be. Big difference.
That's a big group to go up against... but there are a lot of dance partners out their for Floyd to try & prove himself against. Start with DLH, then Hatton, then Mosley, then Baldomir if he's still champ by then. His record would look real good by then.
I thought that was a pretty good interview with Floyd. Its funny, he talks so cocky but on the show he wasnt cocky at all you could see he was a little nervous at times being on tv. His voice cracked a few times...lol pretty boy?
Have to say it made me look at him better. He knows his stuff and is smart...i liked how he said that it's not that his faster, stonger, or more agile than other boxers; it's jus that he's the smartest and he out smarts his opponents. Like a fast game of chess. Genius!
Irs called politics :)Quote:

best ever? he's possibly not even the best boxer called floyd ever , never mind best boxer period!
Lol i like it and good point! However PBF has the opportunity to leave a very good legacy behind and be a real GREAT boxer and one of the finest of this generation however i just think guys like Leonard, Ali and Robinson will always be that cut above.Quote:

The opportunity is there for him. We're just waiting for him to take the meaningfull fights.Quote:

Ali was a better man and a better fighter than mayweathers. he fought in one division, the heavyweights. he fought all comers and never ducked anyone. he fought frazier when smoking joe was in his prime. a proper warrior. ali fought the fights the ppl wanted to see. floyd doesnt. FLOYD IS NO WHERE CLOSE TO A HOUSE HOLD NAME, ATLEAST NOT HERE IN ENGLAND!
if mayweather was a proper fighter, he wont be worried too much about all this money. i mean, anything more than 5 mill is enough for any fight. this guys getting filthy greedy wanting more than 8 milll, unless its a excuse to duck and ddive, bob and weave!
ricky hatton is starting to PISS ME OFF RECENTLY. 2 fights a year? wtf. wheres all the hunger gone. and if you say u only got 3/4 fights left in ya, then fight the best.
I saw it and almost agree.....but he has to fight ODLH, Mosley and afew others Margarito(so he's not running) and maybe Baldomir(who also wupped Judah and Gotti) before he can lay claim.....but he is damn good....BTW all of these fights are a must win for PBF or it is all a wash....Quote:

To play Devil's Advocate... ;)
He is the best fighter we have ever seen IMO. He has one of the finest trainer's and training facilities at his disposal. He has +some of the best nutritional advice available in the sport. He has too much going for him in the 21st century to lose to a 1940's Robinson or 1980's Leonard...
But that all said, IMO there is a big difference between being the best and being the Greatest. And as Greatness lists go, Lil Floyd is no Robinson or Leonard.
Sorry but Floyd has always propped his predecessors...doubt he'd stop now.
He said that he wanted to leave a great legacy behind him & once he said some thing to SRL in passing...but I think that it was more of a joke between the two...could be wrong though.
Far be it from me to disagree with the great Britkid but I'm fairly confident Duran, Hearns and Leonard would have busted him up.Quote:

Leonard would have made a fool out of Gatti and Coralles too, and no way in hell Duran or Hearns are losing to the likes of Coralles, Gatti, Castillo and Judah.
Oh and big fat George coming back in the 90's to win a heavyweight title at 45 and 10 years out of the game proves that the earlier era's packed more of a punch.
The likes of Robinson would have dominated in any era.
Even if he did say it I wouldn't really care. Its not as if Floyd is alone among boxers with monstrous egos, Jones, Toney, Morales, just to name a few think VERY highly of themselves. Some of it comes with boxing, a fighters got to have confidence.
LOL, [click] ;DQuote:

If i could have a dream fight for Floyd it would be as follows:
Against Kostya Tszyu in Sydney.
Billed as Tszyu's final fight ever.
I reckon he would train like a beast for it - its not like he never fought fast boxers is it? he fought many faster fighters but nailed them eventually. Incredible timing.
With all his aussie fans behind him too...sensational !
Yeah but with that logic then Jack Dempsey would be the undisputed heabyweight champion right now with those horseshoe powered gloves of his ;)Quote:

Would he fight Winky Wright for peanuts if it guaranteed his legacy?
On a tangent, how do you think Oscar will be remembered (assuming he retired now)? Up there with the Big Dogs?
hatton, flloyd and cotto all need to fight one another, if any one of them comes out of it by beating the other two, it is they would can claim to be the gr8est. . . . and it would be a good claim
Welcome to Saddo's, South London [click], nice opening post (or two).Quote:

And to give my opinion on your question South London; I have Oscar #22 in my all-time list.
