HATTON URANGO NEARLY DONE???!
http://www.boxingtalk.com/pag/article9227.html
Follow the link. Good move by Hatton in preparation for the JLC fight. It'll up the stakes and I think he knows he cannot compete with the big boys at 147 so he is doing the smart thing and playing to his strengths and I think this rules out the possibility of a Hatton Gatti fight thankfully.
-
Re: HATTON URANGO NEARLY DONE???!
yeah I'd love to see Hatton-Gatti but Hatton-JLC will do just fine!
lets hope he doesn't slip up against Urango first!
-
Re: HATTON URANGO NEARLY DONE???!
Got no problem with this now i know its in prep for a JLC fight.
This is the title Hatton vacated right??
Hatton still Ring champ?

Yup this is the title he gave up in order to move on to bigger and better things.
Now he has realised that bigger and better things can beat him he's come back down to try and win his old belt back.
It's gotta be kind of depressing for him, like leaving Russell Hobbs to go and work for Ferrari, then realising he can't cut it and has to go beg for his old job back making toasters and kitchen appliances.
-
Re: HATTON URANGO NEARLY DONE???!
it'll be even more depressing for him when he gets beat at 140 by JLC anyway.
-
Re: HATTON URANGO NEARLY DONE???!
What a pile of crap... Urango was easily outboxed and gifted the title

Keep dreaming, No one will beat hatton at 140lb!
At 147lb yes but that is why he is coming back to his natural weight.
-
Re: HATTON URANGO NEARLY DONE???!
140 lbs. is still a strong division with a solid group of top contenders, gald to see Hatton coming back down to defend his world chamionship. He IS stilll the world Champ, no matter what garbage belt he decides to add to his collection he is and will remain until he is beaten or decides he misses all of that good ol english food he could still chomp on at 147. Urango isn't exactly a rubix cube, this should be a good workout for Hatton to work out some kinks, not to mention confidence problems he may have after what happned to him in Boston. urango will give hims so rounds, the boy can fight, but not nearly enough skill to dethrone the King.
-

You mean outRUN in a borefest of a fight, and won a title that neither him nor his opponent deserved to be fighting for in the first place. I like Urango and he has very heavy hands, I hope he stops Hatton dead in his tracks, becus he won't be the real champion until he defeats the real champion, Hatton. And what the hell happened to Castillo fighting Cotto?!

i cant wait for hatton to clear up at 140 so you can say i was wrong bout that guy, hes gonna be remembered as a great after urango, castillo then probably corrales, or any other big name that will fight him at 140

Arum was pissed at castillo and with strong possibility of a Castillo suspencion the fight with Cotto was call off. So the real question is, has Castillo being suspended yet or still pending?
Hatton fighting Urango is BS, there are bigger fights at 140. He just like to peak easy fights with the excuse that he is looking for another tittle (first with retarded Maussa and then with Collazo which backfire on his ass).

This time its ok cos hes grabbing a belt to make the Castillo fight a championship match, hype it up.
The word is the likely suspension for Castillo would be only for the remainder of 2006. And even if he is suspended, could he still fight Ricky in Manchester?

No because frank Warren (after getting dumped by Hatton) signed exclusive rights to show all boxing shows at the MEN arena just to stop Hatton fighting there. >:mad
-
Re: HATTON URANGO NEARLY DONE???!
This fight is a waste of time. Urango is nothing more than a prospect...& after his last showing...not that worthy of one either.
Easy win for Hatton...especially after the Collazo match. Maybe that's what they are lookin for in the first place.
A blowout...because that is what this will equate to...total mismatch.

You don't really buy that, do you? This fight is already plenty hyped up, and Hatton is already regarded as the 140 champ by everyone. Adding an alphabet strap--that he already won--by beating a crap prospect won't add any hype this fight at all.
-
Re: HATTON URANGO NEARLY DONE???!
Hatton is taking an easy fight for easy money. Its simple logic. Why else would he take this fight. Im a Hatton fan , but post Collazo im getting most critical...
Hatton isnt doing all he says he should be doing folks...
-
Re: HATTON URANGO NEARLY DONE???!
I'm surprised so many people think so lowly of Urango. Hatton should pound him with his pressure but Urango hits hard. And he comes to fight. He's no push over people. I do like that Hatton KNOWS he had his little British Troll ass kicked so now he goes back to 140 and wants to fight a light weight in Castillo. ;D
-
Re: HATTON URANGO NEARLY DONE???!
Urango aint nothin ::** waste of time. better then Urkal though
-
Re: HATTON URANGO NEARLY DONE???!
Yeah Hulk bro,I think I agree with you,Urango struggled against a boxer but Hatton isn't going anywhere,he'll be a target and Jeff can land bombs!!

Hatton will probably smother his power like he did to Tzyu but lets hope not. I can't stand the British Troll.

In the eyes of us true boxing fans, your right it makes no difference.
But when a promo can say its for the (insert meaningless letters here) light welterweight championship of the world, the casual fan definitely takes more notice, creating a more hyped fight and more money.

my point is that the promo could already say it's for the true, linear welterweight championship of the world (and you could throw in the Ring title too).

I say Hatton kicks his lazy butt.

cc bro almost perfect, but the ring title is the linear championship. I can see Hatton's reasoning for taking this fight, it's a gimme & helps him to re-adjust back at 140. He needs to fight Castillo next though if he wants to be respected.

If the British Troll beats a lightweight, Castillo, which I doubt he can, then it will not make him any more respected. Just shows that once gets his ass kicked by a welterweight, he decides to pick on a lightweight.
-
Re: HATTON URANGO NEARLY DONE???!
If Hatton ever beats Costillo then I will be extremly impressed.

Hatton only needs to accept a fight with Castillo to get my respect. Castillo is a huge Lightweight who will fit perfectly into the Jr. Welter division. Hope Hatton bombs out Urango then goes for the war with Castillo!

Have i missed something here??? When did hatton get his arse kicked? Hope your not talking about his close but victorious fight with Collazo because ALL FACTS and statistics show that Hatton won that fight. ;D

Re: HATTON URANGO NEARLY DONE???!
boxrec says this fight is happening as well. so as for his WBA title, what is going to happen? and now ricky is back in the light welter divsion this well get intresting. The light welters is a very young division and i do feel ricky can dominate this devision.

i'd be very surprised if he beat castillo. but castillo's old. maybe once he retires and cotto moves up ricky can dominate the division. there's not really anyone else in the division who's not a bum.

yeah, i have no idea what's happening with that. i heard he was fighting cotto, then heard it was off because castillo was being suspended or just in arum's doghouse for ruining corralles III. i don't know how much of any of that is true. that would be a good fight too. but i'd really like to see castillo/hatton.

Paulie Malinaggi IS a bum. ;D However, guys like Demetrius Hopkins are not. It's just without Judah,Mitchell, Tzyu, PBF, and soon to be Cotto, the division ain't the deepest in boxing like it once was.

i disagree on calling malinaggi a bum. i thbink he is a very talented fighter and he pushed cotto and he had to rely on a UD, cotto aint been the distance in a while before that fight. But hatton is doing the right move, going back to light-welter and we will have to see what he does after this fight. He does have a wide varierty of options, and we will have to see what he does. but before we even think about the fight after this one, he still needs to win it, you never know what will happen.
