A Political Statement on where America is going by Lyle

Yes people I realize that this is a boxing forum but in this area I am able to post my ideas in regards to other areas of my intrest.

For both political parties in the US I see them becoming more and more polarized.

Republicans - For 6 years we have had the same President and he has really controlled the entire party. Anyone opposed to anything he wants to do suddenly falls out of favor with the party and has to make it up some how.

Democrats - They are starved for victory at every level and have turned against their own. Joe Lieberman a good guy and he's run for VP and he's done lots of good for his party. Ned Lammont is pretty much a communist so the Democratic party is going farther and farther to the left.

Both parties are at the mercy of people who are not bending to help everyone but feed their own needs.

Republicans - George W. Bush, Karl Rove

Democrats - Hilary Clinton and new up and coming Billionaire Megalomaniac George Soros

I think the Democratic party is in danger of becoming the American Socialist Party.




It is my hope that the Independents and the Libertarians gain ground during this time because they are the only ones thinking rationally

i think world politics needs to take a harsh view on parenting and doing it correctly

The British don't impress me much either to tell you the truth, I mean yall can get rid of Blair whenever you feel like it but the people you vote for don't do it....I wonder why..I mean if everyone hates the direction he's leading you in, why keep him in as PM?

The opposite has happened over here Lyle. The left and the right have both scrambled for the centre ground and in the process massively increased voter apathy.

Most people on the street will tell you the same thing about politicians 'it doesn't matter, they're all the same'.

I actually like Tony Blair. I think he's an honest, earnest guy who genuinely wants the best for the country. His cabinet, however, are a shower of shite. He stands by them, as a good 'leader' should but they don't exactly help him do they?

Labour will be in power for the forseeable. You vote incumbent parties out, not new parties in and at the moment there's absolutely no one else to choose from...and they know it.

I think Lyle's time could be better spent nailing hubcaps to his house rather than worrying about the political landscape.

But since my travel to Europe I love the political diversity and the diversity in how people live....Republic Democracies aren't for everyone.....but Capitalism I love, I won't back down from it, everyone should get the best deal possible!!!

Its between Kiera with a little bit more meat on her and Scarlett Johansson. Those are the two hottest young actresses about by far.

I've just come back from visiting New York for the first time. Here's what I thought:

- Amazingly clean city, people were unfailingly polite and helpful. OK, we didn't go into any particularly rough areas, but this was so different to most UK cities.

- I thought that the prices of things in general was so much cheaper than the UK. This shows how much we are being ripped off by our goverment, but also it does account for some of the rampant consumerism in the States.

- The use of energy was pretty obscene and over the top - all the vehicles I saw were big SUVs and 4x4s, all the airconditioning was on full blast everywhere etc etc. No wonder America is the biggest contributor to global warming (allegedly)

- People were proud to be American, they had flags out everywhere and felt generally good about who they were.

- I have never in my life seen so many fat people. That said, there was cheap food available everywhere you looked. Every other shop wasa food joint selling disgusting amounts of food. I swear that one portion of food in Planet Hollywood would feed an African family for a month! This will be a really big issue for the next generation of Americans.

- I was totally shocked at the lack of world news that people got. The so-called good papers had hardly anything in at all about world news and CNN is the same as al-Jazeera if you ask me ! The man in the street is pretty ill-informed about world affairs. This was the single most surprising thing I found!!

- The US governemt wants to keep its people isolationist so it can make them frightened about the rest of the world and keep voting in people to 'protect' them ?????

Shame, a nice country and people, who do not deserve the leaders they have been saddled up with.

Well X you might want to realize that the media in the US is run by people with agendas.....LIBERAL agendas!

Besides the average American could give 2 shits about what's going on in Zimbabwe or where ever...we have enough trouble of our own.

CNN is jokingly called "The Communist News Network"...yes they are more liberal and they also have staged some newscasts ie giving out food to starving people and it looks like a riot.

W is the best of a bad bunch, I wish the Democrats would get their shit together and get a decent candidate for America but alas they are so opposed to W that they forget where they stand on issues and why.
