It was a hard fought Heavyweight title bout, Maskaev come back in the second half of the fight after putting seemingly little effort in winning the first half of the fight. I wanted Rahman to win originally, but Ref Nady really acted like a dick towards Maskaev and that kinda had me rooting for Maskaev, I mean Nady was really favoring Rahman, and Rahman making excuses after about the ref messing him up was lame, Maskaev beat him fair and square.

I think the ref should have let Rahman get smashed or let him hang on for 40 seconds and see what the judges had to say. Still, I could not care less. Rahman should have floored that big oaf and showed us something to be proud of. Instead, Rahman himself gets knocked on his ass. Makes me sick...
There is something about Rahman's posterior that just opens those ropes right up. He alomst went through them twice in the 12th...

Sam was terrible against Maskeav. Didn't win more then 3 rounds. And from what I have heard, it was even if not Rahman winning when it went into the final round.

Was it me or did Maskaev's punches seem slow and weak for the first 7-8 rds, even his reactions seemed really slow. And why he constantly backed himself into the ropes to become an easier target, I guess only he knows,....but hey, he won and I guess thats the bottom line.

Let me gloat. As I predicted Maskaev won. Samil fight was the key; samil sam is very good, so if looked bd against Masakev then Maksaev is very very goo. Do not diminish this victory, Rahman was in great shape and serious and still could not beat an improved Maskaev. No point in a Samil Sam rematch, big point fighting James Toney. If Toney can beat Maskaev that would be something.
Who can beat Maskaev? Its not easy to say? Klitschko may have big problems given that at some point he will get hit, Toney is too confident and out of shape, Lyakovich perhaps, in any case he is a worthy and ever dangerous champion. Congrats Maskaev. Finally champ!

The Jay Nady that won't let the fighters fight or the Jay Nady who won't get his big fat ass out of the way of the cameras so we can see the fighters. Jay Nady sucks really really bad. Just hearing his name makes me want to get violent.

If you are the elite country, then surely you have invented a way to reduce the gap between the rich and poor in your country which is still growing, and to dissipate some of the biggest race segregated (they might not officially segregated, but are divided by buying power) ghettos in the world.

And now for my opinion on a Maskaev win. YES!!! I didn't like Rahman's approach to it in the pressers, and I'm damn happy to say that Maskaev has got him. I always give weight to history, and if he can stop him once, he can stop him again.
The other thing about most of the Eastern European fighters is they tend to do a lot less trash-talking than other fighters, and they tend to be more humble when they get their straps, so I'll big them up for that too.
And if you check the predicition contest.....who had Maskaev by KO? :party: :banana:

Well aliens arent the only ones bringing up the fact that European boxers are ruling the HW division right now. Did you watch HBO crew making a huge deal by going on n on about the fact that all 4 belts are with fighters from former USSR ?

Euro fighters were always regared as bums having No heart n No SKills by most Americans n now for the first time in history there are no Americans holding the HW belts. We know that now.  At the time with 40 seconds left and Rahman still on his feet, it should not have been stopped.  He was woozy but he was holding on.  The scorecards could have had Rahman the winner.  Sure, Oleg would have won that way as well, after that battle the scorecards would've been a better way to find out.

It came out in the Merchant inetrview that Oleg hurt his back early in traing camp and was under a chiropracter/massueses care the whole camp...apparently he was in excruciating pain and based on what we saw it would make sense...Oleg looked stiff(even for oleg) and he seems really off balance...your right his punches looked soo slow in the first four or five rounds...when he got loose he threw some nice combos with more power but still not his best...since he won the fight it wasn't an excuse so he had no reason to lie...Congrats Oleg!

Why don't we talk about how good of a fight it was for Heavyweight boxing. It was a good fight but Rahman can't avoid right hands it looks like, he looked a lot like Kostya Tszyu against Mitchell when he landed that right. The sad thing for Rahman is that the first huge right hand of the 12th didn't drop him. If it did he may have survived.

Boxing gorilla! Rahman was out on his feet for 2 minutes and when he was stopped he was sitting on the ropes with his guard half down. Good stoppage.

But u based not being impressed by these fighters because they were from Europe and stated that USA was superior, I remember replying with the ratio of Britsh World Champions in relationship to popluation, against USA belt holders for population of USA. Not getting into it because I am fully aware that somebodies origin has nothing to do with their ability, but I do have my fact right, I have discussed and argued the point with u before.
If JC or RH were from USA you would be all over them like a cheap hooker ;)
