Woods V Johnson predictions (merged)
Clinton Woods is 5/6 to Glen Johnson 11/10, to retain his IBF Title, i honestly think it is about 50/50, who we picling for this one guys? Has the Road Warrier got much more to give?
I fancy Woods SD.
-
Re: Woods V Johnson predictions (merged)
Yeah me too. I think woods sould have the better of Johnson this time around.
-
Re: Woods V Johnson predictions (merged)
I dont think Johnson can give any more, Woods can.
Woods UD
-
Re: Woods V Johnson predictions (merged)
Should be an easy win for Johnson.  In reality Johnson should be 2-0 versus Woods.  Not 1-0-1.  I see no reason why Johnson can't beat Woods for a 3rd time.
-
Re: Woods V Johnson predictions (merged)
I know it's a bit early but what are everyone's predictions for this fight?
I've a feeling Woods could stop Johnson between rounds 10-12
-
Re: Woods V Johnson predictions (merged)
I don't see Woods stopping Johnson here at all, a predict another Johnson decision. Both tough guys but I feel Glen is just that little bit better!
-
Re: Woods V Johnson predictions (merged)
I'm going to say Woods UD in a close fight, Woods has been improving a lot recently, I think its finally his time to show he's one of the best 175lbers on the planet.
-
Re: Woods V Johnson predictions (merged)
I think Woods has improved immensely since the last 2 fights, not entirely sure what kind of shape Johnson is in. I would lean towards Woods in a close decision this time.
-
Re: Woods V Johnson predictions (merged)
I'm cautiously going to go with Woods, but Johnsonn does have a habit of upsetting the apple cart and even at 60 years old or whatever he is he can still do the business.
I do have this gut feeling that Johnson will win and set a trilogy fight with Tarver. Maybe a rematch with Roy Jones.
-
Re: Woods V Johnson predictions (merged)
Woods by UD.Woods is super confident now since he won the belt, and i dont think Johnson will have much left in the tank.

You can have a sad click for being the biggest tit on here, it should be an easy win?? thats why Woods is favourite? Yes he should be 2-0 but Woods is far superior than what he was and if you look at Woods last few fights you will see why he is favourite for this fight, Johnson might well win but an easy win?? I hate people like you, i remeber last time you posted about this fight you mentioned you havent seen Woods since the Johnson fights so how can you be so iggnorant and say it will be an easy win? If you havent seen Woods fight for nearly three years?
-
Re: Woods V Johnson predictions (merged)
Im going to go with a Johnson decision.

I don't know. I think that Woods pulled a Corrales and waited for Johnson to be on the slide just like Corrales just did with Casamayor.

I think if you knew Clinton Woods at all you'd realise that is utter bollocks, no offence.

Corrales beat Cassamyor a couple of years back?

Not in my opinion. In my opinion he lost twice and remember, Casamayor didn't have to give him a rematch but Corrales held back on giving him a rematch till now when Casamayor made it his next fight for Corrales after he beat him. Corrales waited till he saw a slide in Casamayor, because Joel is on the slide so Corrales is taking advantage. Same goes for Woods although he had quote unquote draw with Johnson

You hate people like me? Like I give a fuck what your lame ass thinks. It's an easy win for Johnson. Think back to the 24 rounds Woods and Johnson fought. Name me one round in which Johnson was even in any trouble. There isn't really one. Johnson won both fights pretty easy. Woods was game, but he was out-classed. I know Woods is the favorite. but only cuz the fight is in England. That's the only reason why he's favorite. I don't see how he's better. Getting floored by Jason DeLisle don't impress me. And even if Woods has gotten a little better, has Johnson gotten worse? I don't see it. Johnson has dominated his last 2 opponents. George Jones and Richard Hall. Both better fighters than Woods.

I agree, but Rico Hoye did destroy Richard Hall. And we saw what Woods did to Hoye. But then again we saw what Montell Griffin did to Hoye too ;)

Re: Woods V Johnson predictions (merged)
I didn't think Johnson looked that great against a shot Richard Hall last time out but then again he's never really looked great, I guess besides the Jones fight, he still gets the job done. And I guess I'd have to go with the safe pick and pick him to win again cause I haven't seen Woods' fights against Hoye or Gonzalez so I don't really know how improved he is, neither of those guys are as good as Johnson IMO.
SD for Johnson I would think but if Woods really has improved a lot then who knows.

I know enough of Woods to know he should be 0-2 against Johnson. And answer this bitch, how can the fight be 50/50? In there 2 fights has Woods ever have the upper hand? Has he ever even hurt Johnson? No he hasn't. The scores have been close because of bullshit judging. Not cuz of anything Woods has done. You talk this all nosense of how Woods has gotten so much better. Why? Cuz he has the IBF title? It's a garbage title. Everybody knows it. Only fools like you consider Woods a champion. And lets see if you keep your word and come back when Woods loses easily again.

By that rational if Roy Jones were to fight Bernard Hopkins at this point in time he would win comfortably on points yes?
No of course not, alot has changed in the last few years. Over twenty four rounds Johnson proved the better man, clearly in fight two. Even if Johnson maintains his level of performance it isnt stretching the boundries of possibility to suggest that Woods improvement makes this an even money fight, is it?
By the way Woods is a proper champion, he has fought his eliminators and won it fair and square and now looks to defend it against the toughest on offer, cant ask for more than that.

The time frame between Jones-Hopkins and Woods-Johnson fights is to far apart to compare. And the IBF was stripped from Johnson cuz he decided to fight Antonio Tarver. At the time the best Light Heavyweight out there. I don't care how many eliminators Woods fought (he fought Jason DeLisle for christ's sake) he's still a paper champion.

Right, because nothing changes in three years ::**
Please tell me for future reference how long has to pass between fights for it to be of any significance.

I don't know. I think that Woods pulled a Corrales and waited for Johnson to be on the slide just like Corrales just did with Casamayor.
Yeah you're probably right cause Corrales took it real easy fighting bums like Freitas and Castillo whilst waiting for Casamayor to deteriorate ::**
No matter what happened before and whoever wins this third fight Woods and Johnson are two of the premier Light Heavyweights in the world and its a good fight to make.
I expect the fight to be very close possibly a split decision which of course means if Woods gets it it'll be on account of corrupt judges, dodgy shitty reffing, ROBBERY, ROBBERY, ROBBERY in the eyes of the "fans."

Re: Woods V Johnson predictions (merged)
i think johnson is going to beat him he has looked the better in the last few fights and he would have the more confidence going in after beating tarver once and jones jr
i would like woods to win tho
so calzaghe can step up and beat him

Right, because nothing changes in three years ::**
Please tell me for future reference how long has to pass between fights for it to be of any significance.
I was talking about Hopkins-Jones. If they fight it would be what over a decade since there first fight. How you going to compare that to Johnson-Woods? Sc for not knowing.

Now you've hurt my feelings ;D
You talk like Johnson and Woods fought last week. Of course Jones and Hopkins fought along time ago, its called an example, an exaggerated one at that.
Have a cool click, they are clearly of some significance to you ;D

Jones-Hopkins was beyond exaggeration. Johnson-Woods was 3 years ago, but has Johnson shown any sighs of decline in those 3 years?
