Damn, Spina got outboxed by Jesse Brinkley, is this for real?
Maybe the Calzaghe camp ae looking to save Calzaghe's hands and are thinking he can beat him without even throwing a punch, just bob and weave until Spina tires and falls over.
Hard to believe. I won't be going if he fights this bum.
calzaghe why???????? get sum balls fly to usa move up to light heavy and take on the big guys, if he takes this fight on i will lose alot of respect for this man
spina does need to step up his competition. he needs to fight outside of New England, but going to the UK to fight Calzaghe is the wrong fight IMO. And I am a Spina fan.
Calzaghe will DESTROY Spina, bad fight for both men to take, Spina would be battered and Calzaghe wont do anything for his legacy by taking this fight.
correct i live about 30 minutes away from calzaghe but i will lose alot of respect if he fights spina
And people talk about Floyd not fighting anyone? If this fight happens I'll be MORE THEN sure that Calzaghe will sit on that Lacy win for hte rest of his career

If it does happen...it would be the worst mismatch in a championship fight since, I don't know, I was gonna say Floyd-Bruseles but that wasn't a championship fight. Spina's horrible.

I know Frank Warren is in the business of protecting his fighters, but this ain't no green, wet behind the ears 22 year old who's fighting here, this is the longest reigning world champion for feck's sake.
Calzaghe has said that he has three fights left, and has always said that he wants the big fight.
While I don't think that this is the fight that is going to be announced, if I see Frank Warren's mug announcing a fight against an undefeated New England boxer, I will be very disappointed. This is not why Calzaghe got into boxing, he has always spoken of his desire to fight the best, and one of his three career-defining fights against this punk.
I don't want to see this fight announced. period.

I would be surprised if anyone other than Calzaghe got first crack at the Woods Johnson winner.
I dont know about all that killer, I wouldnt count Roy out just yet he still has enough starpower to sign a fight the winner of Woods and Johnson.... Roy destroyed Woods and against Johnson he would fight a different fight this time around... If Johnson gets into a war with Woods he will have some unneeded extra miles on him Glen isint a spring Chicken either in addition to a shatload of fights he has been in, he was a fulltime construction worker up until last year so like most fighters that dont work and rest there bodies Glen's been a working man he has to slow down much sooner than later ;)Quote:

Pathetic news! After Calzaghe gave Lacy a boxing clinic, I thought he would move on to bigger and better things. I would love to see him move up to light-heavy after he kicks the crap of that fraud Taylor.

Truth is, for the availability of fighters out there right now id much rather see joe take an easy match, come through it, then take on the winner of kessler/byer, johnson/woods or a catch w8 fight with taylor for his next fight - Tbh f*** RJJ or hopkins, both had enough chances to fight calzaghe when they were all at thier prime, say what you want but Joe made it crystal clear he was ready to go to the usa and fght either one - both priced thems elves out. Now beating either one of them would have the critics simply saying he beat a washed up RJJ or an old Hopkins.
