Just another one of Wacko's Drunken Round by Rounds William vs Mitchell
Well folks...another weekend is gone & another "major" fight is in the bag.
You all know what that means, right?
Just another few days until the next & fight!!!
You guessed it...we about to be back up in this bitch once again!!!
The Wack couldn't be any happier, after missing out on this weekend's festivities due to a wedding & the wife's class reunion...which I might add...ended in a much scornful arguement over Wacko wanting to bail for the fights & not getting out in time to make it home...but we won't get into that...suffice it to say...it's past due time for antoher one of Wacko's Drunken Round by Rounds.
It's time to shake yah money makers because the crew & the drunken one shall be at it again.
For this installment of Wacko's Drunken Round by Round wer'e headed back to HBO once again for Boxing After Dark featuring the return of the much hyped & appreciated heavy hitting welterweight hopeful Paul Williams.
To date Paul "the Punisher" Williams (30 wins with 22 ko's) has looked immensely impressived against rather meager talent. None this go around though, Williams is going to be thrown to the lions as he faces rough & ready veteran & former champion Sharmba "Little Big Man" Mitchell (57 wins with 30 ko's & 3 losses) for the WBO NABO & the WBC USNBC Welterweight titles.
The fight (...& it will be one) takes place at the Reno Events Center in Reno, Nevada & will be commentated on by the heavily scrutinized "BAD" team of Max Kellerman, Lennox Lewis, & Fran Charles.
As I eluded to earlier...I got a feeling that this is going to be a fight that might shock a few of us...on totally opposite levels...which brings me to what I've begun to call: The Wackster's Factors of the Fight.
Factors for & against Paul Williams:
Factor 1: Experience: Honestly...I see this going against Williams & for Mitchell. I honestly don't believe that Williams is quite ready for a challenge like this. You might laugh & say that Mitchell is no longer a challenge...but honestly...I gotta beg to differ. Unless Williams comes in & sparks Mitchell right out...I think this turns out to be a long night for the Punisher...but I believe that the kid is capable of winning a battle.
Factor 2: Hype & record. Williams is coming up...& there is a lot of talent at 147...but Williams is coming up a bit fast IWO. Let him simmer against some 2nd rate competition...like Mitchell...but still...Mitchell may be too much. Doesn't make much sense to you...but to Wacko...it makes perfect sense. Williams' name has already been tossed out there as a possible opponent for Margarito. Williams is fast...& he's strong. He's fluid with really good combinations...but not against top rate fighters...that we know. The question is going to be is Williams all hype? His record is 30-0 & that's impressive...but again...who it's against is the name of the game. Will he meet the hype...or does he believe it too soon, already?
Factor 3: Height & reach. Both huge factors for this fight that will be in Williams' favor. 79" vs 72". 6' 1" vs 5' 7". I'm not saying that Mitchell should just lie down & take defeat...but you wonder what the hell he might even be thinking by entertaining such a fight with a prospect that has almost every advantage in his corner.
Factors for & against Sharmba Mitchell:
Factor 1: Experience: Above I said that I see this one for Mitchell....& I do...but what if Mitchell has too much experience. Lately, theyv'e all been bad. He's lost 2 of his last 4 fights & he's got TKO'd in those two. Granted...he did also win 2...but not in the way one would really have wanted. He went the full distance against Jose Luis Cruz (whom you might remember went 10 with SSM recently) & he came to a technical draw against Chris Smith. Maybe Mitchell has the edge in experience...but not recent experiences. This will probably factor into the fight in both ways...I expect Mitchell's knowledge based experience to carry him through the majority of the fight...but I expect his age & recent ring experiences to rear their ugly heads toward the end.
Factor 2: Honestly...I don't have any more factors for Mitchell...I think that the above pretty much sums it up for me. How about you?
Prediction: Williams by decision.
Pull up a chair, fluff the cushion on the couch, break out the remote, & pour yourself a cold one...the Event is but a few days away.
If youv'e grown tired of the chips & salsa...branch the fwock out!
Cheers & koneecheewah bitches.

Remember when these used to go up the same day of the fight? IT'S TUESDAY! ;D Anyways, initial instincts say Williams takes it, but I would have to rewatch the Mathysse fight to see.

Think your underestimating Williams a bit..... Mitchell looked decent against the plodding JLCruz, but bitched out on a body shot from the not so hard punching at welter Pretty Boy.. Williams is capable of throwing 100 punches per round- he's an octopus and appears to have a steel chin as he seemed to let Mathysse blast him a few times. He will wear down past his best Mitchell and have him done within 8 rounds. r

Re: Just another one of Wacko's Drunken Round by Rounds William vs Mitchell
What I would like to happen: Paul to start off fast and landing shots, middle rds. for Mitchelle and and pours on the pressure, lands a huge hook and drops Paul for the count makes the count only to be stopped by the ref. TKO Mitchelle rd. 9
What will happen: Mitchelle will start off with speed for 3 rds. land some good shots, 4th rd. and up all Williams. TKO Williams rd. 7

Re: Just another one of Wacko's Drunken Round by Rounds William vs Mitchell
Williams is going stop Sharmba late in the fight because of his volume of punches.
-
Re: Just another one of Wacko's Drunken Round by Rounds William vs Mitchell
Sharmba is going to give Paul a few rough moments I think, someone that doesn't stand in front. I think Sharmba's career is winding down and Williams is going up. But this is a HUGE step up for Williams. Sharmba doesn't seem to want to box anymore so I expect him to do good for the first half and slow down the second half and Williams takes the decision. This or Sharmba comes on late and makes Williams work for it. I DO think Sharmba could drop Williams on a flash eventually.

Re: Just another one of Wacko's Drunken Round by Rounds William vs Mitchell
CC for that Wack,I'm quite excited by this fight!! I like Williams and I respect him for taking this fight but I also expect him to win quite easily.Shrmba has not looked really good since the Tszyu fights and if he can't stand toe to toe with PBF,he best put on his running shoes and scamper from Williams. Williams looks good, his punch are not massively powerful but they do look hurtful and there ar alot of them,he has good stmina, and good jab too plus he took Mathyss's bombs for a few rounds(I think had Mathysee worked on his conditioning,he would have won,he was hurting Willims more than Willims was hurting him).
Cumulative affect will lead to late stoppage for Williams.

Re: Just another one of Wacko's Drunken Round by Rounds William vs Mitchell
Yeah I was thinking, just for a split second of running down everyone Williams has fought and then comparing to Tony but I won't give you the satisfaction!!
-
Re: Just another one of Wacko's Drunken Round by Rounds William vs Mitchell
I see a Willaims decision here but i do agree that this will be a tough fight. People only knock Mitchell becuase he lost to PBF recently and theres no shame in that.

Serious question: who the hell are all these guys Williams has fought anyway? 30 fights? That's six less than Mayweather. Wack, I know what you're saying about not jumping up in comp too fast (from who he was fighting before), but it seems like the opposite thing is going on here--why did it take them 30 fights to get him up to the point where it's questionable whether he's ready for a smaller, older guy who's on the decline?
Although I guess JCC Jr. will probably be about 50-0 by the time he reaches this point.

Williams hasn't got much of an amatuer career underneath him.
This is actually a pretty sizeable step up if you look at that.

I agree it's a sizable step up from who he's been fighting--I was just wondering why he was still fighting bums 30 fights in. I guess the lack of amateur career is the answer though--what I suspected.

Follow the link SHZA bro and tell me what you think. I think I agree with you,he has been around a while,it should be not be THAT big a step up but it is because Sharmba is so much better than anyone else he has fought although Mathysee was dangerous,a bit like the Torres of 147 I think!
-
Re: Just another one of Wacko's Drunken Round by Rounds William vs Mitchell
I'm going Williams here by decision, Mitchell is still pretty slick. I think Williams will be to inexperienced to put Mitchell away. But he will win a wide decision.
-
Re: Just another one of Wacko's Drunken Round by Rounds William vs Mitchell
:coolclick: shat,I had to check the calendar brother thought it was thur-fri were getting our round by round present early.....Good stuff as always, Imo the experience factor is gonna be a big equalizer for Sharmba, one thing we will see how Williams is gonna do now that he is stepping up..
Also screw the chips and salsa Lets have some kebabs after our fine British friends explained what the hell that smily is...>>>> :kebab:
-
Re: Just another one of Wacko's Drunken Round by Rounds William vs Mitchell
Sharmba lets his emotions get the better of him so he won't box, Williams will catch Mitchell being brave
-
Re: Just another one of Wacko's Drunken Round by Rounds William vs Mitchell
At least if Mitchell is in trouble he can pull the old knee injury thing to save himself from embarrassment.

Sounds like someone is feeling threatened eh Wacko?
That will teach you to get comfortable and think it's ok for you to take a weekend off. Complacency has been the downfall of many men, just ask Zab Judah. :P

Completely...so threatened that I'll let you vote on which three rounds you want me to drop...the last three rounds...the middle...or the first three? ;)

Trust me babe...I would have rather been here on the couch, drunk as p!ss, watching the fights, & typing from my laptop than at a class reunion watching a bunch of stiffs try to dance to some wack ass booty music.
Come to think of it...I'd rather be on the couch, drunk as p!ss, watching the fights, & typing from my laptop than just about anywhere.
Consider yourself off the hook for your shit stirring. ;D

Ah, Mr. Mitchell, another guy that's trained at the House of Champions with Mr. Marrone.

Re: Just another one of Wacko's Drunken Round by Rounds William vs Mitchell
I think Williams will pull it out with a late (T)KO. Mitchell is past it and will show it during this fight.

Wacko....you dump me once, you lose me always. I can't believe we were forsaken....you can't have a ....social life? As for my previous reference to always....what I mean is for this weekend. I'm off to a music festival in Stafford tomorrow so my witty comments about anal and your clenching are going to be sorely missed. I hope. ;) Anyone know if there is a stream or any British coverage of the Holyfield fight?

Paul Williams-unbeaten prospect,6foot 1,sparred with Margarito, throws 100 plus punches a round, reasonably powerful, wide open at times and carries his hands low. Bright future
Sharmba Mitchell-seasoned veteran, used to be very slick, lost some of his speed, and took beatings from PBF and Kostya Tszyu. Good record, but mos tthink he is on the slide and being fed to the new blood,Williams. Hope this helps. ;D :D

Their both crap, everybody knows that Carlos Quintana is the man to clean up this division. I've been saying for months this boy is the truth but no-one ever listens to me.
Carlos Quintana is the one to topple Mayweather! :hubbahubba:

He looked great against Julio, and I agree he just might be the number 2 guy in the division. Don't think he's the guy to beat Mayweather though--he's good at the same things but not as good at any of them.
-
Re: Just another one of Wacko's Drunken Round by Rounds William vs Mitchell
LMAO,Bilbo was being sarcastic!! You tell me,what you have seen from Quintana apart from looking slick against a bamboozled Julio? No way is Quintana number 2,I think Collazo could beat him and I'd put money on Tony beating him!
-
Re: Just another one of Wacko's Drunken Round by Rounds William vs Mitchell
Quintana beat an unbeaten yet untested prospect, all of a sudden he's the man to beat mayweather? And people say Margarito hasn't earned his shot ::**
Plus everyone knows Hatton is the man to beat mayweather ;)

Don't know what you mean game El Phenomena I always said Quintana would be the one to beat Joel Julio and then go on to beat Mayweather.
Seriously.......
No really I did........
I DID!!!!
I'M NOT LYING HONEST!!!

That's why I kind of agree.
I don't think that he could beat Mayweather...but the kid has the goods to make some serious noise where he's at.
No way do I think that he could handle Mayweather. Honestly...I don't really believe that anyone can at 140.
147? Well...I just aint sold on all this weight jumpin shit....it catches up to you in the end.
