Holyfield-Sam in November?
Holyfield-Sam in November?
It's being reported that four-time heavyweight champion Evander Holyfield, fresh off a two-round destruction of journeyman Jeremy Bates, is already making plans to return in November.
Re: Holyfield-Sam in November?
holyfield will need alot and i mean alot of stamina for this one, he wont be able to stop sinan imo, and sinan will be looking to stop the old man. it will be imo for boxing if evander wins, but he is to old and he will get hurt against him. he will have to do a maskaev and be on his toes all fucking nite and have got headmovement as well.
Re: Holyfield-Sam in November?
I have faith in Evander, the Real Deal to knock Sam out in 8.

We'll see but I'm confident, Sam hasn't fought anyone like Holyfield before.
I know he looked like he was done a couple years ago but if anybody can overcome obstacles it's Evander. He's going to stun the world again!

Well big George did it at 45 and he was in worse shape than James Toney, he could barely get close enough to his opponent to land a punch before his enormous belly got to them first!
Evander will beat Sam, then beat Maskaev, Valuev or Barret.
He won't get past Wladimir but I have faith in him against the others,

no way he would beat makaev or valuev i dont no about barret because ive never seen him fight before. maskaev will outwork the guy and valuev would use his hight advantage
Re: Holyfield-Sam in November?

Yeah, Big George had a big thing that Evander doesn't, ONE PUNCH KO POWER. I missed Evander's last fight, I wish it was his last even if he looked good. Of those guys you named he might beat the Samuel Sinal Sam bum, maybe outwork Valuev, but Barret would stop him, as would Maskaev.
Re: Holyfield-Sam in November?
I think Holy could snatch this by a decision but in very uncertain. I think the more likely outcome is a Sam KO.
Re: Holyfield-Sam in November?
Holyfield will need to get him out of there within 3 rounds, because he'll be blowing out of his ass after that otherwise it'll be lights out ala 'lights out' Toney stye.
Re: Holyfield-Sam in November?
Evander needs to quit. I was just a kid when I watched him for the first time, he needs to retire before he gets hurt. I mean sure maybe he still has it in him, but who cares, just retire while you're still healthy, he has nothing to prove to anyone. The alternative is that he doesn't have it in him anymore, which I think is the case, and he might end up permanently hurt.

The thing is Evander lives to box, its what makes him happy. Its what he do for a living , i be more worried for the other guy, not Evander. ;)
Re: Holyfield-Sam in November?
Yes evander does live to box, but at some point he has to call it quits whether he likes it or not, and why not do it while he still has most of his health in tact. Great athletes always find it hard to quit, except in most other sports they don't endanger their health by stickin around 1 to many games...where as in boxing they risk their health in their primes, let alone at age 43.

I think in other sports and also in lighter weight classes getting old is a problem as the younger guys are faster , and stronger, and its more exaggerated, meaning that it shows up more, however in the Heavyweight Division, its not such a factor and might actually be beneficial this day and age. . The Heavyweight Division is green, Evander has more experience and is a real fighter. . Fighters in this division aside from the Russians have very little amateur experience and after 30 boxing matches still don’t know how to box well.. Evander is conditioned young, he in better shape then most 25 years old Heavyweights. He has a few years left, now that his shoulder is healed up. He should have the opportunity to fight on .
Re: Holyfield-Sam in November?
Hi!
Sam is no "bum" he is a contender. Very good really; tough, can throw combination and knock out punch. I will bet on on Sam. Remember I said that I would never write again in this forum if Maskaev did not win. I did that because of his win over Sam. You see Sam went the distance with Maskaev and had him him work hard, so he is at least as good as Rahman. Holyfield is thus fighting someone with the skill of the top fighters (Maskaev we know). A too big risk at this point. Sam will end him.

:coolclick: I agree Lords...I also believe that Evanders corner keeps a good eye on him when he fights and will not let him sustain an accumalative beating....Evander is a cagy and well seasoned veteran and if the shoulders were the root of the problem and are healed, I see him outsmarting his opponents and doing Hopkins like tactics and tricks in the clinch and other types of things to sustain him in the fight....Evander will be fine he has a wealth of experience..

Yes well I wanted to play it high stakes; either I know what Im talking about and Maskaev wins or I shut up. (Unlike that Belfort character.)
