Sit-ups, or more preferably, crunches. Hold some weights on your chest while doing them for a better burn.

If you a wanting a visible six pack then your body fat has to be below 8%. A visible six pack has more to do with body fat than the actual strenth of your abs. If you think about it there are some boxers out there that can take some wicked body shots but dont have that visible 6 pack, so you know they have some really strong abs.
ye i have a visible six packs but often get fucked up big time by body shots
Bicycle crunches are great for getting all of your ab muscle groups...........
And also I think a small layer of fat helps you to absorb punches just a hair.

And Leg Throwdowns Which Is Ausome Its Were You Lay Down And Have A Partner You Put Your Head Between The Feet And They Stand Above You Then You Bring your Legs Up To Them And They Push Them Back Down I Always Have My Bro Push Them Down Hard And Fast, And You Cant let Your Feet Touch The Ground It Is Such And Ausome Workout.

when i was ill i would come out with some nasty coughs that used to harden my abs the next morning my abwere sore like it had lactic acid build up in it, then i noticed each time i cough my abs harden
Can't remember the name off the top of your head, it's the abdominal cavity and the thoracic (chest cavity) any way the bottom of the chest cavity works with the top of your abdominal cavity so when you cough and use your intercostal muscles and diaphragm I suppose you use your abs to a small degree...
Must of been some cough though, or your abs weren't very developed back then, probably both... ;)
When you cougth an interesting thing occurs. the abdominal wall contracts to protect the spine. When laying down on asoft bed they have to work harder, now thats got to be the best bit of useless inforemation I have ever given, pleasant dreams.

But I think bicycle crunches are the proverbial "cat's meow" of ab exercises. Those things are killer. You REALLY feel the burn after like 10 seconds :P
And if this is for boxing, don't kill yourself getting a six pack. Look at a guy like Mark Hunt. The guy is like 280lbs with a big gut, but he's practically made of pure steel. He takes kicks and punches to the face and doesn't even flinch. I don't think he even notices when he gets hit in the gut. Guys like him really prove that it isnt how you look, it's what you've got behind the fat that counts.

I agree. mark hunt is one of me fav's also. he is one of only a hand full of MMA guys that i think actually thows punchs well, i think he would do fairly well in the boxing game.Quote:

lay on your back and your legs up in the air as if your riding a bike and peddle...lol and touch your elbows to you oppisite knees im not sure if this is how you do it but thats what i think anyways.
