Pick an athlete from another sport to be a boxer...
Ok, so heres the mock draft. Pick an athlete from any sport that you think you could turn into a top boxer.
Ill take this guy: Leander Jordan
6-foot-3, 320-pound offensive guard from IUP
He ran the 40 in 5.3 seconds, bench-pressed 225 pounds 25 times, had a 31-inch vertical jump and a 9-foot, 11-inch broad jump. And for good measure, he dunked a basketball after the workouts.

Re: Pick an athlete from another sport to be a boxer...
I reckon former Cardiff 2nd row Craig Quinnell might be half decent, he's at least 6'6, massive reach, and was always getting in scraps, though he'd probably be a bit of a Danny Williams when it came to his weight though.
Lee Bowyer showed his fighting ways last season with Kieron Dyer, and he does have a lot of heart and determination. He'd also be good at winding up his opposition, which he does so well on the footie field.
Croatian tennis player Ivo Karlovic would have good reach and height advantage, but he's pretty skinny, so I imagine he'd be the tallest light-heavy/cruiser around.
And finally, the man I would most like to see in a boxing ring would have to be Craig Bellamy. If he wins, he's Welsh and I'd have another fighter to put my support behind, but he can be a bit arrogant and lippy, so if he took a beating it might shut him up a little!

Re: Pick an athlete from another sport to be a boxer...
Iverson IMO is a good enough athlete that if he started boxing as a kid I think he'd be a World Champion by now. Toughest and quickest guy in the NBA plus was an all-state QB and Safety in high school.

I always liked the 'ultimate warrior' when i was younger. what happened to that dude? steroid overdose?
anyway, there really are some nba guys who could be decent boxers. never thought of wallace or iverson. iverson could have been something special i would think. i also think shaq could have been a pretty damn good boxer, but ive said that before here and got my head ripped off, so just pretend i didnt mention that. :-X

Re: Pick an athlete from another sport to be a boxer...
I'd take Serena Williams. What an behind on that broad:lickish:. I'd train her just right to be a finely tuned female boxer. We'd workout at night, making sure we used the benfit of training on the beach.
Or I'd take Ali's daughter. I bet that girl can fight :lickish:.

Seeing as how this is turning into a pro wrestling thread I looked up the ultimate warrior. Seems he is now a ultra-conservative GW Bush kind of guy now. :P

Julius Peppers, he's fucking impressive 6'7 285 runs like a 4.4 40 yd dash, he can dunk a basketball and he's just strong as hell

Peppers, never even thought of him. Powerful as hell, tall as a tree BUT has good agility from his days playing basketball at the university of north carolina. good pick. cc!
