Calzaghe would beat Woods and Johnson easyyyyy
although it was a gd fight last night i can see JC beating both of these, i had johnson winning the fight by 1 round, but i think if woods boxed the right way by staying on the outside and smashing jabs and johnson he would have won the fight with ease i couldnt understand why woods was mixing it up with him.
they wouldnt have no answer for calzaghes speed or combinations

Re: Calzaghe would beat Woods and Johnson easyyyyy
I love how Calzaghe beats an OOOOOLD Chris Eubank and a YOUNG Jeff Lacy and "Nobody can beat him"...Calzaghe is a bum!
a good fighter but much like Floyd Mayweather Jr. he has never applied himself vs anyone that's good
-
Re: Calzaghe would beat Woods and Johnson easyyyyy
can you honestly see woods beatin calzaghe tho?? :P
-
Re: Calzaghe would beat Woods and Johnson easyyyyy
i never said noone could beat him, styles makes fights and calzaghes style would be very affective agasint woods style

Re: Calzaghe would beat Woods and Johnson easyyyyy
I like Joe, but lets not get carried away with the Hype... Woods and Johnson would likely be the ones giving Calzaghe the questions... they are both good boxers... he wouldn't be able to beat either man a fraction as badly as he beat Jeff lacy.
The boat is out for me on who would win... he practically admitted that Woods' style would give him problems stylistically before the fight.

Johnson is getting a little long in the tooth methinks...Woods would be a more difficult proposition, and Calzaghe would be moving up in weight. But Calzaghe would be looking to impress, and I have every confidence Calzaghe could decision Woods...
-
Re: Calzaghe would beat Woods and Johnson easyyyyy
like i said in other post woods is bit similar to woodhall and woodhall gave calzaghe problems and woods is better than woodhall so i expect woods to be very hard nights work for calzaghe
-
Re: Calzaghe would beat Woods and Johnson easyyyyy
I stil believe it will be RJJ vs Woods next and then Jones vs Calzaghe....All the hate aside if Woods looked that good yesterday does he improve his chances against Roy
I didnt see the fight here in the states I am searching youtube now if its on there and someone finds it 1st can you post it for me.... ;D

You may not think he is as good as others do, but there is no way that guy is a 'bum'

Re: Calzaghe would beat Woods and Johnson easyyyyy
Personally i do not think Woods OR Johnson would propose any threat to Calzaghe. I think he could stop either late on in the fight.

I agree he is no bum...I respect JC I think the point Lyle is trying to eloquently make that he is good but never shows his true potential why I don't know???? Is it his promoter? is it contentment? on Joe's part...I mean how do you follow up a virtuoso performance against Lacy, Fighting this ham and egger??? C'mon even the most staunch Calzaghe supporter has to be somewhat frustrated....Were is Joe's urgency he is getting older, his hands are getting more brittle, why risk damaging your hands against a subpar opponent...
I mean know one on God's green earth should question Floyd Mayweather's choice of opponents with out looking at Joe's....I like Joe allot I just wish he would take it to the bona fide elite level ;D

And I dont think Lyle does "Irony" so we cant even fall back on that one!
-
Re: Calzaghe would beat Woods and Johnson easyyyyy
calzaghe is in a different league to both fighters. he would destroy them both
-
Re: Calzaghe would beat Woods and Johnson easyyyyy
Johnsons style is made for Calzaghe much like Lacy's was, Calzaghe would pick him off from distance then finish him late on. IMO Johnson was robbed last night though, he was a lot more active and landed the better shots. Woods was in serious trouble in 9 and i think 1 more good shot from Johnson and it would of been lights out.
I hope Woods now fights Roy Jones jr and gets knocked out again. Jones is my alltime favourite fighter and id love him to become champ once again!!!!!
-
Re: Calzaghe would beat Woods and Johnson easyyyyy
it would be a shut out points win for JC
-
Re: Calzaghe would beat Woods and Johnson easyyyyy
For me Calzaghe has to fight either Taylor or Wright. They are probably the only 2 fighters left that Calzaghe would not be expected to beat. Woods would only be a big draw domestically and i dont think fans in the Uk rate him that highly anyway. Anyone agree?
-
Re: Calzaghe would beat Woods and Johnson easyyyyy
yep totallyyyyyyyyy, i think winky would lose agsint calzaghe bcoz of the size difference, but i think winkys style is the way to beat joe
-
Re: Calzaghe would beat Woods and Johnson easyyyyy
I think it will be Woods, firstly Warren has offered him £400,000, which for a man like Woods is to bigger payday to turn down at 34 years old, secondly Warren is more or less incapable of making big fights, the only reason Tsyzu fight was made was the two factors, 1. Hatton was prepared to take much less than Tsyzu, 2.The Hatton factor Sky PPV.
Calzaghe cant attract the sort of money Hatton does on PPV, and the guy wont play second fiddle to to the likes of Wright and Taylor, in financial terms, i just cant see Calzaghe fight any huge P4P fighters, what will change hes 34 years of age?? he has been a world champion for 9 years? Warren has a piss poor record of getting big fights, look at Scott Harrison another of his World Champs who the fuck has he fought? I hate to admit it but i think Calzaghe will not fight any of the big boys, ffs Warren was billing Calzaghe v Johnson as a megafight? The guy is a 37 year old at the end of his career? Warren is a business man who has been making milions from Boxing without actully having to many meaningful fights over the years, look at Kahn he is top bill on terrestiol tv in the Uk, and he is fighting 6 rounders agaisnt part time mechanics?? But Frank is has probably made millions from the Kahn buzz where in reality, he shouldnt.

CC totally agree with your Warren opinion. The guys a joke, last year he said something like " Theres no way in hell Howard Eastman will ever get a fight with Bernard Hopkins" Who did Eastman fight next? Yes hopkins. Warrens a Moron.

Exactly mate look at are World Class operators who are not with Frank Warren, Clinton Woods has fought Glen Johnson three times and RJJ, Howard Eastman has fought Bernard Hopkins, Adrian Stone fought Shane Mosley, now look at Franks fighters who imo, are better than the above three Harrison Calzaghe and Hatton?? Hatton fought Tyzsu for the reasons i stated above, but the other two who have they fought? Lacey? But Lacey was not a megastar his biggest payday was like $150,000 prior to the Calzaghe fight, i think think that says it all, Frank Warren is a joke.

Eubank was YOUNGER than joe was when joe beat lacy, and lacy was older than joe was when joe fought eubank
eubank was like what? 31?
Just think u don't like calzaghe - wasn't his fault hopkins pulled out or jones always priced him self out
wuda been hopkins biggest pay day to the point and for the next few yrs by far, jones jr always bitched about how he never got the big bucks, how the golden boy got more, well he had the chance to fight the best SMW, a chance ot beat the best boxer outside they Hw in europe - had the chance to really make his name well known to the europeans but he priced him self out
shud be questioning them 2 imo;)

I don't have it , but I seen it and it wasn't even a fight. More like a pathetic sparring session. Jones beat him into a pulp and they had to stop it before Woods got killed. He showed heart but not much else in that bout. Anyway I didn't get to see the fight as it wasn't shown over here in the U.S.A., sounds like Johnson fought his heart out and got screwed in a close fight, still say RJJ or Johnson would beat Calzaghe, even though he is GOD to all the Brits on here.

EXACTLY...he's a good fighter but conducts himself as a BUM by fighting such "fierce contenders" as Saiko Bika :beat:
Why not go after the other top guys? Not dissing Bika but I've never heard of him or seen him fight but what about beating the shit out of Allan Green?
Green is young he's wild he runs out of gas, he hits hard, and he's crowd pleasing.
MIKKEL KESSLER...beat that dude up Joe...don't fight Woods! If you are going to fight a Brit fight Froch!

Very true
Joe is in a different league to these guys and he'd unify the light heavyweight division in no time . But if we wana find out whos really the best then B- Hop would have to come out of retirement
-
Re: Calzaghe would beat Woods and Johnson easyyyyy
Why is everyone giving Joe stick for fighting Bika, Its just a warm up fight!! He's been injured and is not at his best when he's inactive. I think the fights a good idea before a super fight in about Feb next year. Anyway the big american fighters will be running scared from joe after what he did to Lacy. There is no way Hopkins would risk his legacy by steping in with someone as dangerous as JC, and B-hop has nothin left to prove anyway. The best fight for Calzaghe would be Jermaine Taylor.

Agreed!! CC for that one...Joe claims he wants to do this and that...He wants a so called superfight but he isn't pursuing anyone too hard now is he???..Sometimes he acts as though he is ducked by the everyfighter in the sport....I have some advice for Joe that many of you who are his fans will hate me for......If you want a big fight and feel that for some reason you can't get one at 168 do what the other guys who really are top P4P fighters like PBF,,Barerra, Jones, Hopkins, Pac, to name a few have in the past...drop a few pounds or gain a few and go to the next division!!!!!!!! I am sure Hopkins, Tarver would accomidate you at LH...Or Taylor or Wright would be happy to accomidate you at 160.........S*** OR GET OFF THE POT!!!! It might not happen at 168 but it can happen......AND TRY LEAVING EUROPE YOUR WHOLE CAREER HAS BEEN BASED IN WHALES AND ENGLAND (with the exception of 1 or 2 in scotland and germany)...........Until then stop talking trash....JOE CALZAGHE IS NOT A DUCKED FIGHTER.....Tired of hearing about his difficulties in getting a big fight
Starting to sound more like excuses....And he is not a big enough draw world wide to make demands on fighters coming to him
-

Why is is that Johnson got screwed if it was a close fight ???
Shut up until you have actually seen the fight and can then make a judgement

Re: Calzaghe would beat Woods and Johnson easyyyyy
By the way if anybody was ever gonna get screwed in this fight it was Woods, he was not the Frank Warren fighter ;)

At Joe's age he needs to only have SUPERFIGHTS
He's old, he's wasting his time with Bika!
Superfight with who Clinton Woods??? Superfight my ass, that's nothing special
