Mayweather should have been DQ'd in the Ndou fight.
Robert Guererro should have been DQ'd in his last fight.
Forrest should have been DQ'd in the first Mosley fight

Re: tyson should of been dq in 2nd ruddock fight
I watched the 2 ruddock fights a couple of weeks ago have to say were both good fights...In the first fight ref Richard Steale stoped the fight when Ruddock seemed fine to continue...

Wee we all know steeles famous for that

Re: tyson should of been dq in 2nd ruddock fight
steele is one of the worse refs ever ;)

Re: tyson should of been dq in 2nd ruddock fight
Funny how I see posts that blame refs. for the loss of a boxer.
Steels fault Taylor lost to Chavez
Nady's fault Zab lost to Tszyu
Stop blaming refs. now I agree there have been bad refereeing BUT to say Steels the worst ever is IMO an exaggeration.
-
Re: tyson should of been dq in 2nd ruddock fight
well from what i see he is one of the worse thats my opinion

Naw man, it's no exaggeration. Steele is the worse ref today and the worse of the last 25 years.
-
Re: tyson should of been dq in 2nd ruddock fight
Whatever, there are FAAAAAR worse refs out there...Jay Nady is GOOD especially if you fight John Ruiz
These Refs are worse
Alfred Asaro - Benn-McClellan, #1 he didn't stop the fight in the first #2 he didn't warn Benn about the rabbit punching and #3 he didn't check on Gerald for not being able to keep his mouthpiece in his mouth
Roger Tilleman - Ottke-Reid, #1 he warned Robin Reid for hitting Sven Ottke...nothing bad, just hitting him
Stop blaming Richard Steele, it's Taylor's corner that lost him that fight "You have to win this round!"

Actually Steele is a great ref but we all know since Mancini/Kim he has been punch shy...I don't say he is a bad ref but not the guy you want in bouts where there are big punchers involved or a guy has solid wiskers..Steele will stop a fight quick when it comes top abuse...This is a good thing in a way but he does tend to go a little overboard

If there were 30 seconds left in the Taylor fight would you have blamed Steele for stopping it?

Richard Steele didn't even ref Mancini-Kim.

No but once in an interview after the Taylor-Chavez fight and why he stopped it with just seconds left he made reference to it about how the bout was mishandled and it was poor judgement that caused Kim's death...Said he rather err on side of caution than have to live with such a thing on his conciense ( or how ever you spell it)...Then started on something about being able to fight another day ect...This was his excuse in the interview I dont know what goes through the mans mind

WTF are you talking about? Why should have Mayweather been disqualified against Ndou? If its because he used his elbow to create distance... he is hardly the first to do so.

Re: tyson should of been dq in 2nd ruddock fight
I would say if Steale was doing the Bustor Douglas fight Tyson would off win...

If it was stopped the same way, yeah. If Steele would of let Taylor continue and Chavez continued to batter him, than, no I would not of knocked Steele. That's a 28 second difference. A lot of damage can be done in 28 seconds. But Steele didn't let Taylor continue. And there were only 2 seconds left. Which means Chavez gets at the most (if even that) one shot at Taylor before the bell rings to end the fight. Taylor fought an outstanding fight. He faded badly at the end as Chavez rallied. He got dropped. But he got up. Like your suppose too. No excuse for that fight being stopped. It was a championship fight. And Taylor had earned the right to continue.

But it seems like everyone is assuming that Steele knew there was 2 seconds left. What Steele knew was what he said "I had a hurt fighter in front of me and to me he'd had enough"
Now whether there was 2 seconds left is when it happened but I don't think that Steele had it in his mind there was 2 seconds left.
If there were 30 seconds left then I think Chavez WOULD have battered him.
But everyone seems to be stating it as if Steele knew there was 2 seconds left. And he didn't. So he stopped the fight.
That is understandable to me.
I would only knock Steele if he "knew" there were 2 seconds left and stopped it, but he didnt so why knock him for it?
know what I'm saying?

Sorry dear, but that's bullshit. After dominating most of the fight, everybody was wondering if Taylor was going to hang on. Every body was paying attention to the fight and wondering at the round time. Steele was the referee, he was one of them. After all them fights he had refereed before, he should of known that the round was close to ending. Steele said he did not know, that there was only 2 seconds left. What was he suppose to say? "I knew there was 2 seconds left, but I decided to stop it anyway." He would of really been crucified. Steele knew he fucked up by ignoring the red light in the corner that said there was less than 10 seconds in the round. He just decided to play the stupid role by saying he did not know the time left.

In each corner there are poles with lights on top the lights blink at the last 10 sec...They had been blinking they are noticable Very noticible just for that reason....Not that it matters to me either way but Im just saying that to help clear up the matter about Steele not being able to know about approx how much time is left.....In some fights they use them in case the ref corners or fighters themselves don't hear the 10 sec knock...They are not in every fight but they were present in the Chavez Taylor bout

The fact that there were only 2 seconds left means absolutely nothing. The rules state, if a fighter does not respond to a referee during the count, it's a TKO. This rule does not disappear in the last 2 seconds of a fight. The fact that Chavez wouldn't have made it across the ring in time had it continued means nothing. If Steele had let a fighter continue who was non responsive, he would have been cheating for that fighter, it's that simple.

My man you need to wake up into reality....... Taylor was badly beaten that night broken bones in the face, pissin' blood, from the body punishment he took. Just stop and think for a second that JCC could have landed 1 more shot in those 2 seconds that were left and that the punch would have cost him his life.
Think about that what would you & a lot of people been saying? ? ? ? ? ? ? ?
"The ref. (Steele) should have stoped he shouldnt have let Taylor continue even if there was only 2 sec. left, it's all Steeles fault"
As it is look at Taylor post JCC & pre JCC HUGE difference. Really think about what your saying, one more punch to Taylors head could have been devastating.

WTF look at Ruddock a second b4 steele stopped the fight his head was every were he was hit with hard shots and flew across the ring he was out on his feet an yes he protested to the ref like most other fighters do if he was fine to go on why wasnt he defending himself like a boxer should. Steele is the best ref in the world and all that matters is that his desigion counts.
