John Duddy vs “Yory Boy”.

John Duddy (17-0) takes on Luis Ramon “Yory Boy” Campos (88-8) on Sept. 29 at Madison Square Garden in New York in a 12-round battle of middleweights. Duddy, a native of Derry, Ireland, could be on track for a world title fight if he beats Campos. Duddy has won his past two fights at MSG, beating Alfredo Cuevas in the 7th round on June 10 and knocking out Shelby Pudwill in the first round on March 16. Campos, a native of Navajoa, Mexico, began fighting in 1987 at age 16. Campos beat former world champ Raul Marquez in December 1997 to win the IBF light middleweight crown. He also has faced such big-name fighters and former title-holders Oscar De La Hoya, Fernando Vargas and Felix Trinidad in his long career. Duddy, ranked No. 11 by the WBA, figures to be the sportsbook boxing favorite with his power likely to overwhelm Campos.

I like Duddy allright but shouldn't you have to fight, I don't know, at least ONE decent fighter that's not 84 years old before you're "on track for a world title fight." ???

I'm pretty sure he's got few more fights left before he fights for a "real" title. I think after Yory Boy, he'll step up and have a few real fights. I wouldn't mind seeing a Duddy v. Mora matchup.

I agree with Oumafan and I am tired of all these "prospects" who have nothing but old men and stiffs on their record. God forbid Duddy fight Matthew Macklin or some young guy with a good record.

I dunno folks, I like Yory Boy as a Live underdog in this one. ;D

Yory Boy would have been a legit opponet, 9, 8, years ago. Hell I wouldn't have minded if it was 2003 and this fight was being made. But this guy is so far from his best...it's ridiculous.

I don't even think Duddy is the most impressive middleweight prospect. Big fan of Yuri Foreman, but he's another guy who has to start stepping up the comp.

Duddy can only fight who is put in front of him and what I've seen he has knocked most of them out. I would pay to watch duddy anyday he doesn't disapoint.

Duddy is very good, I was watching hum during his amateur try outs some years ago...he's very good, very strong...even if he's a little bit too you know, he likes to swing punches, which I hate to see, but anyway he has yet to face a true quality opposition.

against Yory boy it's simple, we'll see if Duddy is serious stuff. not that Yori boy is young again, but if you stand in front of him he can still hurt you...even at this weight.

But I predict duddy by a 8th round Ko

this is gonna be a tough one for sure.

Of course until he steps it up it is hard to know for sure.

He and Mora are 2 guys I can't stand the hype. They may be champs one day, but damn, step it up already and fight so we know what your made of!

Havent even seen Duddy fight. He better be above MOras level, because he'll never be a champ.

Campus barely got by a guy Willie Gibbs destroyed. So I think Duddy will win but it will prove nothing

Campas aint no joke, he is dangerous even when he's falling down, Yori Boy is live in the one, look for a surprise in this match

Taylor
Winky Wright
Abraham
Miranda

and so on


I think Duddy is a better fighter than Mora, I think he has more pop and entertains more...Mora is just an ass

Duddy aint all that...everyone will see in time.

I honestly wouldn't be shocked if he lost to Yory Bwoy. Duddy's defense is lacking & Yory's got bundles of experience to trouble Duddy...there again...he's got bundles of age to trouble himself.

Good hard fight for Duddy.

what would Macklin have to do to get this fight then, philly man? I would hve LOVED to see them get it on MSG this last st patrick's day, half the irish world wide would have paid to see that one IMO

Good one, Klithead, good one. And for the record, I agree Mora is an Ass. And he has zero pop. Yory Boy should not be a difficult fight at all for Duddy IMO. Campas has been pretty much shot for a long time now.
