It must be in the works for next year surely? ;D, Obviously it depends on Pac's next fight but i think Guzman was a class act last night, The man has everything, Great defence, Power punches, Nice combinations, Movement and Speed i mean the first 7 rounds last night was just a masterclass in boxing, Barrios just couldn't live with him. I think it would be a thrilling fight!!.
So who wins out of these two?
I think Guzman would take this one uD or even Ko.

I've liked Guzman since I saw him fight that guy that JMM just fought. Very interesting fight, Guzman would have a real good shot IMO.

Guzman looked smart,fast strong and to be hoest,he looked as if he found the fight with Barrios easy. However,Pacquioa is on a whole different level and what does Guzman when do when the pace is heated up? I'll tell you 1 thing,if he tries to roll Manny,he will get KTFO. Right now,Pacmna by KO for sure. I have not seen Guzman's chin tested,nor how deep he willing to go and what happens if he breaks his hand? With Pacman,I know what I'm getting,fast,hard hitting,scratch that,super fast and P4P top 5 hard hitting,awesome chin,determination,stamina,a furious pace,wild at times but compensates aaaaaaaaaaaaaand becoming more varies,adding the right hand,ok jab and good lateral movement. Pac by ko for me.(and no,I'm not a Pac nuhugger!)

Don't see it being that clear... Id favour Pac for the fact that he's been tested on all levels, but based on what Ive seen of Guzman so far it would be a great fight that Guz could win... He has a much better defence and countering ability then Pac, and has more in his arsenal I feel.. Better two handed skills.Quote:

Guzman is a more well rounded fighter and he looks pretty good at that weight and his natural strength is great. Wonder why Pac didn't fight him at 122

There were hardly any style to talk about in their fight. They looked like street brawlers with wild swinging shots in the early rounds, and Barrios pursuing aimlessly with those long hooks and wild bodyshots while Guzman retreating inside waiting for him and countering with his only effective shot, short crisp hooks, in the later rounds. Guzman's main weapon is every punch he has. He just fought the style he needed to beat Barrios, he doesn't fight the same way two fights in a row against two different opponents.

Sorry about that, I was out for a while. Strange, I've gotten the Barrera-Juarez I fight figured out watching it just once, where no other seemed to have gotten. But here it seems as if we've been watching a completely different fight! I hate to admit but I guess all these people here can't be wrong, so I'll have to watch the fight again to reassess it. But sorry to say, it won't be coming any time soon as TV stations here usually don't show replays esp. the undercards, and as I live in a small coastal town here in the Philippines surrounded by coconut trees and rice fields on the other side, the best I can find in the local market are some bootleg copies of Pac's fights, popular movies and of course the usual xxx-rated vids. So in the meantime, I'll be reserving my judgment 'til then... By the way, you don't have to address me sir. ;)Quote:

It's not really a contradiction bro,I doubt his chin is better than Erik Morales and Pacman can tko Morales,MAB and drop JMM 3 times,then I'm sure he can dent Guzman. Guzman has excellent defensive skills,against a Barrios who just cannot punch straight,Pacquiao punches very straight and accurate and from a southpaw stance,that's alot of angles. The number 1 thing in favour of Pac is the pace and intensity,I don't think Guzman can match it and remember,Pac is no Barrios,if Pac landd all those body shots to Guzman,he would not be able to run anywhere a la Morales 2.Quote:

Wow. People are really on Manny's jock. It is almost as if the outcome of his fight with Eric has already been decided. Manny, for all of his tremendous physical strength, is still far from being a complete boxer....no matter how badly many of you think otherwise. A fighter with great skills and ring smarts will give him a tremendous challenge. If Eric comes into their rematch physically fit and fights SMART....he CAN beat Manny (with Eric the problem is that he lets his pride sometimes make him fight a stupid fight). Just as if Barrera comes into their rematch fit and with a great fight plan. And Guzman is as good an athelete (if not better) than Manny and is also a great technical fighter. The key with Manny is to fight with controlled aggression. Not many fighters can just go in the ring and hope to out slug him from the beginning. You have to fight a smart technical fight mixed in with moments of exchanging. Easier said than done because of Manny's aggressive style....but very possible....especially for boxers of such talent like Barrera, Guzman, Marquez and even Morales. To say Manny is "on a completely different level" than these fighters is ridiculous.
THAT'S WHY Superfeather is my favorite division. You got a combination of legends, present top P4P guys and a very talented up and coming prospects. Hell if JMM decides to come up it would be more and more interesting. So one of the players dropped out last night in Barrios and Guzman raises his stocks very good. Now we have a clearer picture of who would give the most exciting battle of Superfeathers in 2007(pac-guzman). I know MAB-PAC is bound to happen but if Pac wins and Guzman continues on his roll it would be one hell of a fight. Hey, I almost forgot there is a guy named Valero listed in the Superfeatherweights man this is the best division in boxing.
As for the question why Pac didnt face Guzman at 122 we are not really sure if there were ever talks about these 2. Pac moved up to challenge MAB at 126 as a Filipino we all knew that was Pac's dream match either win or lose he really would like to fight the best at that time. Though MAB was not his usual self that night, Pac did beat him and soundly so. At 122 Larios was the man then and I never even heard of Joan Guzman until he started to make noise the past few fights. So maybe it was never meant to be at 122 so here we are at 130 and these 2 fighters looks like it's the best weight for them to fight so may the best fighter wins.
