Jeff Lacy Returns December 2nd

DogHouseBoxing.Com's Gabriel Montoya ( that's me ) has confirmed with Jeff Lacy that he will be fighting on the Dec. 2nd Winky Wright/Ike Quartey card on HBO. " It's going to be my return home and to the ring." This fight marks first on HBO. "I would have loved to have done it with Showtime but there were no dates left. " Jeff seems very excited and eager to the return to the ring having been inactive since last March. “I want all my fans at Doghouse to know I'm back an I'm fresh an better then ever before so you don't want to miss what I’ve been missing for some months now. One or two fights back and I want a rematch with Joe!!! He won the first round and I just know I let a lot of my fans down. I want my titles back and I'm not going to stop until I do!!! March 3rd Joe didn't fight 30 percent of me that night and he had to do what he had to do. It funny that a fighter can’t say timeout I'm not up to this tonight and ask to fight when you’re up to it. Someone has to win and he did that. Now I'm fresh and ready to return and get what I really know I should have gotten the first time out. I want Joe again and I won't let my fans down doing so. Lacy got schooled by Joe.

Cant really see what else he would do in a rematch.

I think they have been blowing compliments up his ass again and poor Lacy is believing it.

Unless he completely changes his style, he cant do anything else except pray for the big punch to land.

lol well he is young, and you know sometimes you just dont show up...
maybe he did maybe he didnt i like the idea of him avenging that loss but the idea of him getting schooled again doesnt sound appealling but i wouldnt mind it all ending in a rubber match!!
but then again joe doesnt plann on having many more fights since he already wasted alot of his years at the top, im jus goner sit on the fence and if it happens i'll watch it , if not i wont me to bothered

The forum over there is improving. Myself and many vets have made an effort to weed out the alts and get the forums back on track .

I'm not spreading propaganda , guys. I posted this on here cos I have some readers on this site and wanted to give you some inside dope before anyone else on the web got it . I hit a lot of forums just to keep up with what the fans want . After spending all day talking with promoters, fighters, and publicists , it is easy to forget about what is really important : the fans .

I really like Jeff Lacy As a fighter and he looks like a top guy as a person. Im a huge fan and i was upset to see him take all tht punishment in the calzaghe fight, atleast he took it like a man! it made me like him more! i was really pissd of that ITV neva showed the interview of Jeff, i jus wanted to see if he was alright.

I have watched 21 of Lacy's fights. He boxed in the earlier ones, throwing proper crisp, fast and powerful combinations. in the calzaghe fight he was different.not his confident self. jus walking forward, onto joe's punches without thinking.
i am glad to hear he wants to have a few tune-ups before a rematch, shows his hunger is for real! this time the fight should be in florida ^-^

Sounds almost dillusional to me, I mean it's typical for fighters to find excuses for a loss but I don't know what he's thinking saying he would want the fight, can only imagine it's to save face.. There's no chance of it happening again imo, was one of the most one sided fights in recent memory.

I agree with that . I talked with at length for my interview and this time and it is definitely his goal to get a rematch . One sided or not, any fighter deserves get back with the guy that beat him .

Why? So he can get his ass kicked again? It's one thing if the fight was close. This fight was not close. Hell, this fight wasn't even competitive. It was a blow out. No need for a rematch. Plus, i doubt it can be sold to the public.

I don't dissagree that Lacy may somehow "deserve" a re-match.
But with Calzaghe having few fights left, there are certainly other fighters who are more deserving of a shot at him.
Wheather you "deserve" it or not has nothing to do with the fight happening or not though.

lacy has to go in there and beat kessler IF calzague doesnt fight him. after kessler beats beyer ( i think he will) and then lacy knocks him out then joe should give him a rematch

JC is waaaaay ahead of everyone else in the division,but when he retires/moves up,I can see Jeff dominating,he is still a very good fighter,I just hope he is mentally 100%. I'd rather Kessler Lacy first,they are the second best in the division in my opinion.

any idea on who lacy's gonna be fighting in december? and of course he's gonna say something like that, he wont ba alowed any wehere near calzaghe again. joe is the man. but lacy will be a champ again. but he wont beat joe.
