I am going for Moore, but this is one of the most 50/50 fights i have seen in a while, i cant wait.
Im with you but i aint sure enough to say Moore will KO Macklin so i voted Moore UD....should be a cracker anyway!
hell i was always gonna go with macklin, but im gonna go out on a limb and say macklin 1st rnd ko, i know its a long shot cos its a proper 50/50 fight,
I reckon Moore gets it by mid to late KO. Any idea when the fight starts....sadly....my sky sports installation didn't come in time, it's being installed with sky+ box tomorrow morning. Gutted.
This is some fight - what a battle
Hope Macklin is alright. That was some performance by both boxers, Macklin put so much into that fight and literally gave his all and Moore just used his experience and grit.
Once again I hope he is alright as it was a sad sight to see him leaving on a stretcher.
What happened.....see above post about me not having sky sports....cc for a rundown of the fight....Quote:

He can bounce back again most definitely and I thought the fight was pretty much 50/50 until the KO, maybe even slightly in favour of Macklin. Moore proved once again that he is a warrior of the highest order, never in a dull fight! What a cracker that one was, one of the fights of the year.
The signs are promising as far as Macklin's health goes. The guys on Sky just said he was sitting up and talking in the ambulance on his way to the hospital. Good to hear that!
how wrong i was, ha ha ha, not dissapointed tho as i did want moore to win, what a fight round 9 has gotta be a contender for round of the year, hell even fight of the year
The fight was really close all the way. Macklin started off at an amazing pace and continued this throughout. Moore tucked up well and fought cleverly picking his shots. Moore was hurt a few times in the fight from good body shots and loooked dazed a couple of times but somehow summoned up tremendous counter attacks. The 9th round could have gone either way as both fighters looked in trouble at points. It was Macklins workrate by the end that cost him as he really looked out on his feet. The final punch looked horrific jolting back Macklins head before he slumped on the deck. There was concern as he was stretchered out after about 10 minutes receiving attention. A really great fight and such a shame to see it end like that. but as someone has stated the signs are good that he is ok.Quote:

Quote from Moore "it could have been 2 mexicans in the ring". ;D
I thought Moore fought a very intelligent fight, he invited Macklin forward, not that Macklin needed much invitation. When Moore backed off and against the ropes he used great latteral movement and shoulder defence to evade the power shots from Macklin. This ultimately lead to Macklin blowing himself out and Moore taking advantage of this in the later rounds by landing some really accurate blows that sapped the living soul out of Macklin. I especially thought Moore's inside work on the ropes was classic of early Tyson, the way he came up with sharp uppercuts after rolling around his opponent , coupled with sharp crosses really took it out of Macklin.
Dont get me wrong Macklin fought a brave fight but i had Moore winning all but two rounds, the first and eighth. The 9th round was a barnstormer :o and ultimately the turning point in respect to Macklins strength leaving him.
I wonder what effect the 15 rounds he done on the body bag with Billy Graham took out of him?
Moore to move onto european and world honours now, just hope he can reach those heights as i think he's an intelligent, tough fighter, and deserves all he gets. I Hope Macklin also recovers we from this and goes onto brighter things as he has the exciting style i like to see 8)
For me Macklin lost this fight by putting too much into the opening rounds i really think his only gameplan was a KO win... were as Moore seen the big picture and tucked up against a massive attack waiting for his moment.
GREAT FIGHT but Moore had the winning plan ;)
good too hear that Macklin was joking in the hospital and is just being kept in for observation because he was dehydrated.
and Moore going to visit him rather than going to his afterparty shows his class.
Respect to both guys for a cracking matchup 8)
WOW!!!!What a absolutey great bout, so glad i watched it! Get well soon Matthew you gave us a cracking fight!
Oh for bloody feck's sakes. I have to miss the damn fight of the year cause my sky' one day too late. MAy as well send the damn thing back now. :( D'you reckon they'll rerun it at some point?

Hope he's allright.
10 am til 12.....ouch that hurts. It is now 11, and the sky+ man has just arrived. Could be 1/2 an hour. :)Quote:

i thought it was a quality fight that needs more of a mention on this site. really exciting. a mate of mine opened up the back room to the pub he works in just for me and my mates. you couldnt turn away for a second. one of the fights of the year for me.
Agreed, it was a war!Quote:

I'm amazed that he was able to keep it up for that long.
Credit to Moore too... he showed a lot of skill in that fight. Nice rolling with the punches and quick counters and he knew if he survived the onslaught by Macklin, it would be his for the taking.
Both great fighters and a tribute to the sport though! 8)
Great to see fighters stand and trade but did they consider making it easier on their faces by boxing a bit?Quote:

Thought from around the 7/8th Macklin would leave the ring on a stretcher, unfortunately...thankfully he was alright.
