Just saw the fight. Lucky for Duddy he was in the ring with a blown up welterweight!
Any middleweight with power would have KO'd him in round 2.
Great exciting fight. I thought Campas won.
Duddy will NEVER be a top contender

Duddy has some very serious defensive problems
I was stunned at how easily Campos was able to tag him
Duddy fought hard, I was impressed that he had the composure to come back and own 8-11 but besides those four rounds I only gave him the first. The 7th could have gone to Duddy.
Duddy may not be great, but still Yory should get a lot of credit for fighting like that at his age and especially for coming back to dominate the 12th after getting handled from the 8th throught the 11th.
No doubt, Campos deserves credit... It's really one of my favourite situations that arise in boxing, when the old vet can totally own a young prospect who seemingly has every advantage..Quote:

About Campas you can't hack him he went out there and fought his heart out, I personally thought after that 9th rd. the fight was gonna be stoped. Campas has lost the snap in his punch but he showed that regardless of that if he lands flush he can hirt you.
The 12th rd. was insane.
But come on 116-112 thats wrong & 117-111 thats just absurd. I would love to see the actual scorecards to see how they scored it rd. by rd.
Any chance of a rematch?>
Doubtful.Quote:

Well I hate to hear those reports but I still have faith that John will be a decent boxer...I mean he's no Ray Robinson but he's not a chump.
Better Duddy fight someone decent than let's say ooooooh Brian Reagan
I still think he'll beat Sergio Mora
Not at all................ about 1 million to one chance.Quote:

The last thing they wan't right now is Duddy fighting someone with punching power. Hos next opponents will have something like a record of like 5-12.
Add me to the list no chance in hell for a rematch. Duddy and his people will just act like the first two scores were right and move on.
He has the potential for being in exciting fights but I suspect that his promoters know he has to be looked after and matched very easily.
If he can improve his defence he could be a major player at 160. Duddy has good skills and power it is his lack of defence that is holding him back right now.
....Abraham and Miranda have bad defense too

I'm just impressed he fought back valiantly, came back strong, and then eventually survived. Proves he's a fighter and not a guy looking to make money.
I'll be the first one to say I didn't know of him til recently and as imprssive as he's been it's true he has showed true flaws as he has stepped up. Everyone's in this game to mke money... Funs for the amatuers!Quote:

Agreed Sugar Puss. :coolclick:Quote:

He'll be a short run champ at best fighting the upper levelers.
Somebody mentioned Echols as safe opposition...but I think that Echols would eat him alive.
If it was the same Echols that fought Hopkins. But if he was that he would have knocked out the last guy he fought in one round. I wish Echols was the way he used to be. If Hopkins wasn't champ then Echols would have been.Quote:

I agree with you Starr, Mora dominated Eric Regan who had previously beaten Campos.Quote:

Can't see him beating Taylor, Wright or Miranda, apart from them he has a chance against anyone else.
For the record. :)
I've never criticized Sergio Mora and I'm not too hard on Duddy
because obviously he's an exciting fighter.
I know people over-rate and this and that, but in most cases,
I like to take it easy on guy's reaching for the top.
Duddy and his now-rare "Irish boxing tradition" are only good for the sport.
I don't have any kind of problem with Duddy, its kind of senseless to blame a fighter for getting a decision you don't agree with, the thing is I just don't think he's very good.
I'm no big fan of Mora, but he actually might be a bit underrated because of the Contender, I don't think he's elite by any means but I think he wins a relatively easy UD over Duddy. Nothing personal against him, just think he's got some major liabilities.
Well I think Duddy showed a tremendous chin in absorbing all those shots from Campas and not going down and heart in fighting back, But he needs a real overhaul in the defensive department. He still young and green, But he has some skill and raw power to grow with.
Agreed & good post. :coolclick:Quote:

As far as Mora goes...I'm not a fan based on his ring antics & his attitude...but one must admit that Mora is slick & does have skills. Again...just don't dig on him that much.
He may go far...but that don't mean I gotta like it. ;D
CC. Thing is in that Campos fight Duddy didn't go all offensive, he tried to defend himself, he tried to jab, to maintain some distance, but he was still was getting tagged all night. For one his head is like a statue, it just doesn't move, plus I don't think he has very good reflexes as far as seeing punches coming, he's just got a lot of problems defensively. Honestly if Duddy's career ends up as successful as Gatti's I'd be surprised and I don't overrate Gatti.Quote:

If Duddy's defensive skills are so lackluster (and I haven't seen the fight) then he's in for a rood awakening when he fights a top 10 contender.
Sometimes the Irish disgust me. :-[ They sell their names and race like slaves. Get on with it and just get in the ring and do your thing if you
want to box. Stop selling out your people like some sick side-show circus! :furious:
Really?Quote:

Yeah, but don't you think it becomes a bit tryte after time? I understand nationistic pride, and I don't think that there is anything wrong with it, but the redundancy of it all becomes a bit passe after awhile.Quote:

Richel "The Dutch Sonny Liston" Hersisia...priceless.
That is some shit right there now! ;D
Anybody know where you can download this fight? wouldn't mind seeing it
If you asked Terry Norris or any other fighter who's worked with this promoter, Don King already has that one. :-XQuote:
