British people and Oasis

Enlighten me as to why you like them so much.....one good album does not make a "Great band"

I like them just not to the extent you crazy british people do

id like to know also as i aint that fussed on them :-\

I heard Alice in Chains is touring in Europe right now, you lucky fuckers :(

I like the first 2 Oasis albums, the first one is especially good. The stuff since consists of decent singles but a lot of filler really....

They are alright, but not the best band out there...

Oasis live are the bollox,no question.
I hear that AT+T in the US are using a tune on their new adverts on tv.
Liam f*cked it up for them in the USA with his attitude.
With Ringo starrs boy on the drums when live they do f*cking rock it live though 8)

Oasis are quite simply one of the best bands in the world. When they get it right it's anthemic at the very least.

As a live band I would agree. They have the back catalogue to make a great show. But their albums do fall short and its been that way since Be Here Now...

Definitely Maybe - was ground breaking and a stunning album

What's The Story - probably my favourite album of all time

Be Here Now was basically made up of tunes that didn't make the first 2 albums ( not a lot of people know that ;))

The rest have been average imo, with just 1 or 2 decent tracks on each album.

Some of their best tunes are B sides ,e.g The Masterplan (which will blow you away live) Aquiesce and Talk Tonight

Will always be one of my favourite bands, if only for the 1st 2 albums, but just haven't got it right since :(

i love oasis they are genuinely a great band... you know the classic bands that hang around cos they never made a crap record they are just so talented and they just concentrate on making quality...

also i think its a british thing too.... also i hear the arctic monkeys are finding it hard to break america and this is i think why...

notice both bands sing with english accents and about british stuff with british slang (more so in arctic monkeys) which is somewhat lost in other country's
but its just music that everyone can enjoy jus guitars good tunes with good singing not over the top in any way, just normal blokes singing bout normal stuff and sounding good...
its kinda common if you know what i mean, like they are the everyman and they just appeal to brits more...
genuinely class bands though...
any americans herd the arctic monkeys yet? what ya'l think?

I'm with Lyle on the 80s - 2nd only to the sixties for me!!

First album was very good and it's been downhill from there.
Saw them at The Wheatsheaf in Stoke many years back, Liam still had that what you looking at face even with a tiny crowd. ;D I miss the 'sheaf, they've turned it into a bland wetherspoons hole. :'(

For me the 90's were superior to the 80's but maybe its because I was a teenager in the 90's...

Actually, now I put my mind to it the number of bands I like from the 80's matches up pretty well with what I like from the 90's...

Also, a lot of the great bands of the 80's that I like continued to put out top music in the 90's...

U2 and REM arguably released their best work in the 90's and then you have bands like the Pixies that continued to make music into the 90's (though perhaps of a declining nature)...
