Taylor will knock him out badly....a silly fight on both sides...
Well I will say this Jermain SHOULD blast Ouma out pretty easy.
If he doesn't I'm not sure he's going to be treated very nice by fans and EVERYONE will be gunning for him
I like Jermain but I'm no fool, he needs a BRILLIANT showing to win back over the guys who thought he lost to Hopkins and Wright.
This fight is probably just to get Taylor used to Manny's style as well
But why does Ouma have to be the scapegoat for it? He doesn't need to be ruined when he's on the comeback at 154. He's brave I'll give him that..but, I see this similar to the Steelhammer vs Byrd fight.
Agreed. Ouma is foolish for taking this fight...it could very well end his career.Quote:

Totally agree,Ouma is too small, silly move up and I dont' see what he can do to hurt Taylor. He was doing well at 154,I would rather have waited there and worked for my shot.
This will by no means end Oumas carreer (IMO)
It's a shot at the title right? That is every fighters dream. I don't think JT is all that and he wont end Ouma's carreer.
Jermain Taylor vs. Kassim Ouma Dec. 9 in Little Rock
Eastsideboxing.com
Little Rock, AR, October 11 — Home town hero Jermain “Bad Intentions” Taylor, the Undisputed and Undefeated World Middleweight Champion, will put his title on the line against Kassim “The Dream” Ouma on Saturday night, December 9, at Alltel Arena in North Little Rock, Arkansas, when DiBella Entertainment presents in association with Golden Boy Promotions and Peltz Boxing Promotions “Home for the Holidays: The Return of a Champion,” it was announced today by DBE president Lou DiBella.
HBO’s World Championship Boxing will telecast the event at 10:00 p.m. ET/ 7:00 p.m. PT & 9:00 p.m. CT.
This compelling title encounter pits Taylor (25-0-1, 17 KO’s), the megastar and favorite son of Arkansas against the cagey southpaw and resurgent Former World Champion Ouma (25-2-1, 15 KO’s).
Taylor will be making his sixth pro appearance in Little Rock, and his third at Alltel Arena.
Taylor first captured the Undisputed Middleweight Championship against the legendary Bernard Hopkins on July 16th 2005 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, NV, with a 12 round split decision triumph. He defended the title for the first time in a rematch on December 3, 2005 at Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas with a unanimous decision victory over the future Hall of Famer. Next, on June 17, 2006, in Memphis, Taylor successfully defended his title when he and Winky Wright fought to a draw. Taylor has not tasted defeat in his pro career, upending the likes of Former World Champions William Joppy and Raul Marquez, and “Contender” Champion Grady Brewer.
Ouma has won his last four contests to again emerge as a Contender for the middleweight championship, most recently handing the highly regarded Sechew Powell his first defeat on August 5 at the Theater at Madison Square Garden. Ouma, the 27 year old native of Kampala, Uganda, has also downed the likes of Verno Phillips, Marco Antonio Rubio, Kofi Jantuah and Carlos Bojorquez during an eight year pro career.
“Arkansas is Jermain Taylor Country and DBE’s home away from home. This title defense against the outstanding Kassim Ouma belongs at Alltel Arena, and we are thrilled to be able to deliver it,” said Taylor’s promoter, Lou DiBella.
“There’s nothing like home cooking, and I am proud to be fighting again in Little Rock,” said Taylor. “Since it is my first title defense in my hometown, it is sure to be a very special night, and I look forward to putting on a great show for all of my fans.”
“Fighting for the world middleweight title is a dream come true for me,” said Ouma. “After I lost to Roman Karmazin, it seemed like the end of the world. But I worked my way back and I know that I earned this fight with Jermain. I got a second chance and I will make the most of it.”
There are approximately 4500 tickets priced at $75 or less.
Tickets are on sale and are priced at $650, $500, $300, $200, $150, $125, $75, $45, & $25 (Students Under age 18, Seniors & Active Military). Available through the Alltel Arena Box Office, all Ticketmaster Outlets (501-975-7575) and Online at www.ticketmaster.com.
about a year ago i would have gave ouma a much better chance. i think i overrated ouma and underrated taylor. after that performance he gave against winky i find it very hard to see jermain losin to ouma.
ouma should go after spinks
Taylor should fight Calzaghe or Kessler.Quote:

LMAO.
By no means is this fight a mis-match in my eyes, Taylor will win a decision but he won't stop Ouma & at the end of the night Taylors gonna know he's been in a fight!
Yes, of course Royal ::** ;DQuote:

JT deserves his time at Middleweight, he'll move up when the time is right for him and that SHOULD be after he beats Ouma, Wright, Abraham, and Miranda.
i still want to see a tayloy lacy fight too
Heres the deal Taylor Dwarfs Ouma and has a sizeable reach advantage....Ouma has never faced a Power Puncher like Taylor....Those Pitter patter punches are not gonna do anything to Taylor except create openings for him to counter HARD...
Taylor will keep him at the end of that jackhammer Jab and carry the fight until he has worked on some of his kinks and then will end it when he is ready..IMO
Only thing that scares me is that Jermain will neglect defense since Ouma wont be able to hurt him and thats something he clearly needs to work on to take him to the next level in his career
Ouma's Corner will throw in the towel by round 7....... ;)
you never know guys. there is a chance that he might win but not a very big chance though
Classic boxer vs puncher fight....I am leaning to a JT win, he's bigger than a lot of people realizeQuote:

I'm rooting for OOOOOOOOOOUUUUUUMMMAAA!!!!! I'd laugh my head off if Ouma won. :)
The picture just says it all. Ouma is a small 160 and Taylor is a giant 160 pounder.
On the way to losing, I do think Ouma will have his spurts of hope.
Taylor's defense is shyte for a pound for pounder.
And for a young fellow, Taylor is slow.
This could actually be more similar to the Raul Marquez fight
In all honesty...I think that this says a lot for Ouma...& very little for Taylor.
I like Taylor...& don't really care that much for Ouma. No reason...Ouma just hasn't really struck a chord with me.
The issues I have with Taylor are many. The first being that I don't think that he's fought to the maximum of his capabilities...or if he has...then I just aint that impressed. I think that he lost the first Hopkins fight & he definently lost the fight against Wright.
The thing is...Taylor, IWO, has fallen prey to what I like to refer to as "Vargasitis". His promotional team has rushed him into the big fights to early. I think that he should have taken out the lesser gents of the game & eased into the top slot...but...I aint his management...nor am I he.
Anywho...back to Taylor vs Ouma.
I hate the fight. It's a step down for Taylor & a stupid fight for Ouma to take. Ouma's not really a viable opponent. He's not super star, he's not accomplished anything at 160lbs, & what's the point? Ouma got easily handled by Karmazin and he got dropped by Silva who is nothing more than weak opposition. Everyone has a bad night...but Ouma has proven to be less durable than most expected.
Taylor by TKO...but it's a wack ass fight that accomplishes nothing...unless ofcourse Ouma hits miracle street & outpunches Taylor down the stretch...but he better be on point & throw bunches.
Truthfully...I want Taylor to win the fight because I want Wright to win the rematch...which he will.
That being said WACKO I think the first fight with Hopkins was AWESOME, here's a young guy willing to risk his future (which is very promising still but then even more so) to fight the best right away!
The same should be said with the rematch and the Wright fight.
On one level the kid is writing checks he can just barely cash and on the other hand he's not winning as people want to see KO's, Domination, outboxing, out muscling, etc.
Ouma is a guy who JT can counter and should do so effectively and he'll be able to work with Manny more and that's good, in all reality he wants to fight Winky again...that's great he has the heart to fight ANYONE....but like you I do wish for him to show the talent that he's able to BEAT anyone
I dont blame Ouma one little bit for taking this fight...The adversity that kid had to endure is something we can NEVER fathom being a child and having to wield an assault rifle and murder people during civil unrest aint exactly like opening gifts under the Christmas tree with Mommy and Daddy....Yea he is overmatched and will probably lose, but to go from were he was to fighting the universally recognized Middleweight Champion and a chance for Boxing Immortality is one hell of road he has traveled.....Does it make sense from a Boxing perspective for him??? Hell NO!!!! But personal triumph and be on Stage fighting for one of Boxings most prestigious Titles is something any of us who had it decent to good life could only dream of, but for him to get this far and realize a dream...HELL YEAH it makes sense ;)
The draw would have been better in the first Hopkins fight. Then Hopkins retires and Jermain is the heir aparent handing the veteran his first draw when he's just coming up. It would have been a wonderful for the hype train of taylor in terms of marketability to draw with Bernard Hopkins. But both of those "wins" hurt him more because it actually hurt his fanbase imoQuote:

Fighters even up and comers should get their losses when they deserve them. Maybe if Taylor got the draw he could hone his skills more and noit have to face the toughest fights that his talent is only keeping him up by when it should be skills and ability and ring smarts. Because talent can get you only so far. Thats my main point.
when taylor was comming up in the ranks it did seem like everbody he face was comming up from 154. now it seems like he's back at itQuote:
