Does anybody know when he might be released from prison? :bananastyle:
it wont matter much he is like 340 pounds and looks like hell.
Ike pissed it away, those demons he saw he fell victim too, they destryed his career sound familiar like a fella named tyson, there strength and weakness is one on the same
Folks...you can write Ike off.
He was denied parole in 2005 for a 3 year term.
In 2008 when he get's another hearing...he'll get denied again, IWO.
If he doesn't...he still get's deported to face the charges there.
Ike's done...bad as I hate to think it & feel it...I pretty much know it.
He just eaned some kind of college degree in prision, so maybe the demons are gone anyway.
Doubt it.Quote:

Re: Ike Ibeabuchi??
rape = jail = no more boxing
He wouldn't have lasted much longer after that Byrd fight the way he looked. He had power but he was one dimensional, he did good for chasing down Byrd but I don't see Ike beating Lewis, not on any day not on his best day he couldn't beat Lennox Lewis. And the Byrd that beat Tua would have danced circles around Ike but not been caught. Ike is in the "what if" category. But I couldn't stand that they were trying to make him the new Tyson and watching the Byrd fight made me sickened seeing them call a miss a hit and a combination from Byrd they said nothing. If the HBO commentators are anything like the kessler fans on this board ;) I would have wanted to see Ike lose just for the sake of shutting them up.
He's done though. And he only has himself to blame.
Disagree. I think that Ike had the goods. Byrd weren't no easy task for most of the 200+'ers & he had been dodged by quite a few for his tricky style. When Byrd was on point...he made many men look really really bad.Quote:

Wacks is right he will be like 35-36 when released and was on so many drugs for is Mental issues...If he kept himself in fight shape the whole time that would be a glimmer hope....believe me I was watching the boxing news once a week to find good news but it just isint there...Quote:

The best way I could describe Ike's career...its like that phenomenaly Beautiful girl you meet and you get her number talk to her on the phone a few times, set up a date, go out and have a great time maybe a few drinks then at the end of the nite and you start getting hot and heavy but you dont have sex...then you say to yourself AH!! who cares we had a good time and we will go out again....Well you never do and your left wondering how good that piece of ass would have been... ;) Damn I got issues Phew!!!
You gotdam right you got issues.Quote:

I will admit three positve facts about everyone's favorite nutty nigerian.
1) He stood toe to toe with Tua trading blows with him in the center of the ring round after round and taking Tua's best shots----(this translates into endurance, heart, awesome chin)
2) He fough a different fight with Byrd (on the outside as opposed to on the inside with Tua) showing style versatility
3) His KO of the elusive Byrd man was both gruesome and violent...which translates into effective and powerful.....that was a beautiful "underhook" and just when he started lulling Byrd into thinking that he was gassing out...WHAM explodes out of nowhere.
NOW....it can adversely be stated that:
1) Byrd and Tua had not reached their peaks in terms of skill experience and effectiveness and they were no one when he fought them
2) He did show quite a bit of frustration during the Byrd fight.
3) We never really saw him fight anyone of championship calibre.
4) He was obviously prone to making bad decisions outside of the ring.
Still, I think that the Lewis who avoided facing Chris Byrd wouldn't have been eager to face this guy either...he had a chin, technique and he could throw a punch.
BUT we will never know just as we will never know what he "could have" been capable of. he may have been a champion or he may have gotten KO'ed in his very next fight.
For this reason I try not to give the guy undue credit.
right from what ive seen the guy had granite chin he had excellent inside work good power and perhaps one of best workrate ive seen from a hw fighter he would of gave lewis hell in my opinion he really did have the tools to do it all but oh well ill guess he will be remembered like razor ruddock *the heavyweight nearly man*
I wonder how Tyson got off so easily. rape=jail=$200 million in a comeback=too bad Tyson didn't invest some of itQuote:

From my understanding Ike was never the same after the Tua fight, Curtis Cokes his trainer said before the Tua fight Ike was very church oriented , took his mom to church several times a week, after that Tua fight Cokes said he became a differnet person, everything about him changed, the expression on his face changed. He was a different manQuote:

on a different note I thought the judges robbed Tua.. Tua won that fight IMO
never knew that lords ike was more actice landed bit more i scored it a draw i had tua up 6-5 going into the 12th and ike won the 12th so 6-6 on my cardQuote:
