Whos going to be first to beat Rocky Marcianos amazing 49-0??

So cmon, lets hear your opinions?
Some are closer than others....some greats have already spoilt there chances....some will not even get close. One day it must happen, so lets hear your view on who it might be?

The one who fights the most bums.

Nobody fighting currently I don't think. To my knowledge only Valuev is close but I really can't see him going another 3 or 4 fights without being beat.

As soon as he tries and unifies it's pretty much all over for him.

Calzaghe could beat the 49-0 but obviously not in the same weight class, Mayweather possibly.

Overall though I'd say Kessler may have the best chance. I think he's 37-0 or therabouts and as long as avoids Calzaghe I can see him beating everyone at 168.

Him and Calzaghe is a 50/50 fight imo.

Good point. Valuev wont make it i believe. And Calzaghes not looking to stay around that long.

Incidentally, I don't think we can count people like Mayweather, as Marciano's record was for heavyweights. Lets see Floyd beat Sugar Ray Robinson's record of going seventy fights undefeated, losing to an all time great in Lamotta, and then going another 70 fights undefeated.

Valuev.....if he keeps fighting bums and stays clear of the Klit he has a very good chance of beating that record. he is improving a lot and i really think he has the best chance at doing it

Actually Robinson only went about 40 fights undefeated before his loss to Lamota. Not sure how many fights Floyd has had but he may already have gone longer, I know Calzaghe and Valuev have ;)

wasnt chavez like 89-0 or something like that didnt he have longest underfeated record ?? even though i think he should of had a loss before

Robinson had an amateur career of 80 and 0 or something like that? If thats true then accumulative he went 120 fights before losing once :o

If Tyson had half of a brain he would have beat the record, a scientific study said that humans only use 3 percent of their brain, Mike maybe uses 1/4 of that.

Valuev, I'd be surprised if he didn't make it, just for the same reasons that X mentioned, I doubt he'll fight a dangerous guy before that.

the way boxing is now, everyone avoiding each other and the sorry fighters like John Ruiz can do nothing to get lowered in the Ranking, a fixed number #1 Contender, it would be easy to stay undefeated and retire a champion . fighters with records like 33-0 are fighting fighters like Serick Fields who has about that many losses on his record.. its a farce the heavyweight divison.

joe c could but he wont out of ' respect' i dont feel it is that i feel that people will put him under pressure for not fighting enough fighters that are a great anought threat by doing it... some are good some arent but he wont be regarded in the same way as marciano is so he wont bother ,

mayweather may well be most likely... he fights the big names... but he picks certain names for the wrong reasons.. because either stylisticly or skillwise etc he knows he'll win!! but at this stage of his career with all this money getting thrown at him.. i think he might take the wrong fight and lose before he makes 49-0
plus thats alot more fights that he wont feel he needs to take, so i doubt he'll stick around for it..

hatton could... but hes not high on my list as he has named some big dangerous names for future fights and its on the edge of your seat stuff... which is brilliant imo.. fair play to him .. its exciting because he is vulnerable but he is great jus fight em try your best and if he makes it he makes it!!
hes very close to the record aswell.. i think he could possibly make the rec.. but i dont know if he'll retire undefeated in which it wouldnt count...

and theres a big need for him to fight real competition at the moment... i think the only other heavyweight champ he beats right now is.. maskaev for sure, possible seguei?( cant spell)

Good, id hate to see such a joke like Valuev be compared with the likes of Marciano.

49-0 is not the record for professional boxing. There are quite a few fighters who had well more than that but most are no names. You can look it up. Of recent, Julio Caesar Chavez went about 90-0 before his first defeat. Ricardo Lopez retired 51-0-1. There are many boxers from the old days that have went past that 49-0.

Ricardo Lopez (105, 108 champion) retired at 50-0-1 (1 draw) a few years back.

is depends on how soon a valuev-klitschko figths happens. if it happens soo, then valuev wont get there. if valuev keeps fighting guys liek owen back and monte barrett then he will.

I don't think Valuev ever intends to take on a legit heavyweight....and by legit I mean a top tier opponent.

I still honestly think that Evander Holyfield is next on his list and if not him then FRES OQUENDO...both guys are chinny of late, they look sloppy, they have little power, they are not especially big heavyweights,....the facts point to that fight being a stepping stone to a WBA title shot.

Well it's very unlikely it will be Mayweather, for one reason only he is only fighting the best fighters now, so if he would manage to get to that record i would be quite confident he would go down as the best ever as he is the main cash cow in boxing and the biggest name so it's all big fights from here on out.
