Briggs by early Ko or if the fight goes past the fourth I give it to the white boy. I'm rooting for Briggs, because I would like to see him fight Wlad.
I don't see sergei getting knocked out early, I've only seen his fight with brewster but he took some dam bombs from brewster all night and pulled the win out. Not saying brigss can't take it, I just don't think sergei will be knocked out early.I know he has a ko loss on his record somewhere but I didn't see that fight nor any other fight of his, so I'm just going by the brewster fight.
Very true but Sergei has too much heart and I think he'll actually stop Briggs late because Shannon is old and out of shape and like Manny Steward says "Briggs fights Kamikazi style for the first 4 rounds"....he'll tire out.Quote:

I favor Wlad over ANYONE in the division right now
That loss was to Mo Harris which seems to be the only argument as to why Briggs fans think he can win.
Late KO win for Sergei.
so how'd the ko come about, was sergei winning up to that point and harris just landed one of those once in a lifetime punches and knocked him out cold or...?
I would like Briggs to win, but the only way that is going to happen is if he gets a KO within 4 rounds if it goes beyound that then Lykhovich will win by (T)KO.
Liakhovich may be one of these one hit wonders who has a amazing win over Brewster but never capitalizes on it later. Hes beat Guinn, Ahunanya, and Brewster. We still dont know much about this guy. Atleast with Briggs we know where he stands firmly, hes not the best but he belongs up there with the big boys.
Briggs isnt that old, hes 34. Hes not going to age overnight in this fight. We will see the best of Briggs.
Liakhovich halloween picture just came in. Looks like he was ole Frankenstein himself! ;D
Liakhovich in the 8th round by TKO.
It is pretty much what people said, when Briggs was scheduled to fight Wlad... either he wins
in the first 4 rnds by tko/ko or looses by points or gets knocked out...
It's tough to predict the winner of this...I really don't know, but we will see...
johnny are you going to watch this instead of the PPV. I know i am.

:coolclick: Thanks Pantera, as a new contender you are my first cc. The baby bull is fighting too. How cool.
:coolclick: back at ya;! Glad I could pop your CC cherry!
Sergei by Decision.
Hard fought battle for a couple of rounds but Sergei does enough to win a clear victory.
Sergei was behind on all cards and got startched in the 9th by Harris, a one sided beating. Liakhovich fired his trainer and went with a new camp...His best victory prior to brewster was a squeaker against Guinn...and remember he was dropped by a well winded BrewsterQuote:

briggs by very explosive ko.
I'd like to see that one punch KO Briggs has been working on the past years. 11 fights, 11 KOs, 10 Bums, Kinda effective but champions have something special. Very excited to see this.
ive been watching shannon spar. he is unbelievably fast and strong. i think he knocks sergui senseless in rounds 7-9. mark my wordsQuote:

I wonder if Briggs has to shave his beard for the fight...
When Ruiz fought Toney there was talk about Ruiz beard,it would cushion the blows(yeah I know
thats bullsh*t,as if...) or if there gonna be a cut in the bearded part of his face it cannot be treated...
and so on...
Just wondering... ;)
by that press conference. if Briggs loses the excuse will be "I overtrained"
Why do I question the training of someone really fat training hard?
Have a CC I totally agree.. Besides it's like people forget Brewster isn't that good. At all.Quote:

HTF gave them a bat :o
I feel bout the same way. I'm pretty sure Briggs is comin at around 270 again, isn't he? Which is fukin stupid IMO, but if his big 270 pound ass gets full extention on a straight right hand then... :boxingmatch: . Definately a tuff fight to call. If it goes late, Lyakovich could outgut Briggs.Quote:

Brewster is an undersized HW with heavy hands but no ability.. Briggs is a big HW with heavy hands who actually knows how to punch. My pick is definetly Shannon... Though I realize his stamina is suspect to say the least, I honstly think he'll get an early to mid round KO if he's really training hard for this fight. And if you tell me he looks better than Sergie, well christ Id have him a big favourite.
yea check out the link for the weigh in that Saddo posted...He looks good to me and in better shapeQuote:

Now fighting Liakhovich it looks like his stocks are rising...
Don't get me wrong,I know Briggs got a much better chance winning against Liakhovich,
than against Wlad, but I just think that Briggs isn't either that bad or that good ...
And don't you underestimate Liakhovich...,have him seen only against Brewster, but he can box
and also take a big punch...
I think I'm really neutral on this one(or maybe I just don't care that much...).
When was the last time Briggs actually looked good? Early in the Lewis fight? The guy couldn't even get by Francois Botha, lost to Sedreck Fields, got stopped by Darroll Wilson and laid a freaking egg against Jameel McCline in his last real fight. Since then he's fought nobody, he's big and athletic but he rarely steps up when it counts. I'm still not sure how good Sergeui is but I have a hard time picking Briggs.
Is this going to be the Briggs that drew with Botha? That got beat by McCline? The one that couldn't seem to avoid Ray Mercer's jab?
or the Briggs that gave Lewis a very rough time for about 3 rounds.
We'll see. Briggs is like Zab Judah(also from brooklyn) when he's on and focused he's near unstoppable. But he tends not to show up for some fights. Is this one of them?
I think liakhovich will win by Tko or Unanimous decison because sergui is a bad man in the division he has very quick hands and he can take a hell of a shot if he can take all of them shots by lamon. But even though lamon had a detatched retina he still beat him. But i know that briggs is dangerous but liakhovich is better.
