This Is Just Plain Ridiculous and Perplexing to Me..The Scrutiny Of Floyd
Ok enough of this BUllshit cause its all phucking hate most of you should be ashamed of yourselves and I mean it!!!!! I been on this forum over 6 months and have always been please with the balance of opinion and objectiveness..With that being said I have never been furious as I am over these comments about Floyd its Sad very Sad...and the majority of the Hypocrisy in a matter of hours is perplexing....
HERE ARE THE FACTS ABOUT THE FIGHT IF YOU ALL FORGOT A 12 HOUR SPAN...
Trading with Baldi wasnt the right gameplan cause of the size advantage he has
Baldomir hasnt been stopped in almost 13years and has the head of an anvil..and is NOT DETERED AT ALL FROM COMING FORWARD..
Floyd went right at Baldi from the outset.....
Floyd used his strenghts to expose and prey on Baldi's weaknesses(last time I checked in anysport thats perfect execution)
Floyd's accuracey was overwhelming especially his power punches
Floyds defense was at an alltime best...Yes even against the rabbit punching and the hitting on the back of the head in which Baldo was warned at least 6 x
Floyd had Baldo hopeless and frustrated and demoralized by round 3...Just look at the expression on his face and the look of defeat in his eyes...
Its obvious Floyd hurt his right hand seeing that from about round 6 or 7 he was realying on the left hook instead...EVERYONE FROM THE THE BOXING WRITERS TO THE COMMENTATORS TO YOU ME, EVEN A NEW GUY WITH 3 FRIGGIN POSTS ON THIS FORUM SAID THAT IF FLOYD KEPT HITTING THIS GUY IN THE HEAD HE WOULD DAMAGE THE RIGHT AND HE DID....WE ALL KNEW THIS
Track meet??? Last time I checked Floyd isnt Gatti now is he??? he exchanged when he could.. you act like he ran the whole fight he got the better of every exchange countered beautifully EVERTIME against the ropes, coming forward, going backwards....
The truth is he Shite all over Baldi and you guys are so pissed that he didnt give Baldi a chance to get to him by exchanging with him...FLoyd fought a smart and intelligent fight....
Did Floyd steal rounds with last 2nd flurries??? Fuk no!!! he painted Baldi everytime he came close...
Get over it...DO you remember these fights
1) Hopkins vs Tarver..That was a barnburner right??
2) Hagler vs Leonard oh yea the only action was the last 10 sec of the rounds Leonard stole..
3) Dlh vs Trinidad...When Dlh ran for the last 3-4 rounds and didnt do shite then complained about it...
Oh and to all those who said Floyd is like NAz....Your joking right??? Naz was a blow hard who had reflexes and strength THATS IT!!!!!! Floyd has it all
Floyd would wipe the floor with Naz, Floyd's resume has 6 better fighters than Naz...I'll leave it at that.

I have no argument for that. :appl:
Even if I didn't agree with you I'm not emotionally prepared to fire back.
Briggs... ridiculous.

Re: This Is Just Plain Ridiculous and Perplexing to Me..The Scrutiny Of Floyd
Seriously I can see thr potential future critisism for Floyd victories
Margarito- Tony hadnt really fought anyone and has 5 losses and is a product of the arum hype machine...What did you expect
Hatton-Ricky's defense is leaky and he gets hit with a lot of shots and gets countered and couldnt keep up with Floyd
Williams- Another fighter with suspect defense and suseptible to counterpunches and far to green to be stepping up this soon
Citron-Tony destroyed him last time out and exposed him
Cotto dosent have to many fights at 147 and gets hit alot with a suspect chin
Oscar- Dlh was out of his prime
Mosely- see above
So who else is left that would please you guys cause youll never give the man his due...
the truth is Floyd is right here>>>>>>>>>> Floyd
and the next guy in the sport is here>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

Cool Click...
I have been posting here for a while, but i wonder if i am at the right place now considering all these bad talking about Floyd. I have this perception after a while that this forum makes up a whole list of Brits. And if it is, they just don't appreciate an american boxer. Floyd is a incredible fighter, just open your eyes. We won't see a thing like him for a long time to come.

Re: This Is Just Plain Ridiculous and Perplexing to Me..The Scrutiny Of Floyd
Thanks Cool Click to the 2 of you..... I dont think it is a British vs American thing Cause I know there are Hatton fans in the states and Floyd fans in UK
I think there is alot of restlessness between the 2 continents since no fight will be made soon and if it true Hatton rejected a fight with Floyd since he bid himself out of the fight...Well that is ridiculousness $13 mil is alot of steam..There were reports Hattons camp declined on another Occasion siting Ricky wasnt ready for Floyd yet...
Anyway...I maintain that Floyd is head and shoulders above the rest lets face it Floyd has NO NEMESIS..No Hearns, No LAmotta, No Frazier etc.. thats the predicament...
I find the majority clinging to the hope that everyone of his challengers will give him trouble leading up to the fight peeps were venerating Baldi sighting his advantages and anointing him as The Mayweather slayer and after they sight how he is gonna grind Floyd down and impose his will and absorb Floyds shots etc...Then when Floyd spanks him we have this tremendous backlash of discreditting him....
Just like How Gatti was gonna KO him cause Floyd never tasted the power and the relentlessness and heart of someone like Gatti...Floyd spanks him bad and all of a sudden Gatti is Shot..
Judah- Zab is gonna match handspeed and beat Floyd to the punch and at his own game...Judah wins 1st few rounds Floyd adapts and punishes him on the way to a TKO until that piece of shite Zab cheap shots him... Then its well Zab is a waste of talent and an underachiever Blah, Blah
Baldi-is a 180lb behemoth that hasnt lost 9 yrs 18-0 with out being stopped in 13yrs is relentless and will beat Floyds body and grind him down from his severe determination Floyd wont handle the pressure and this will be the hardest fight of his career.....Floyd outclasses him gives him a onesided thrashing like no one has before makes him look foolish swinging wildly all the while Floyd is dominating him fighting 5-6 rounds with a damaged right hand...All of a sudden Baldi had 9 losses is a lucky Journeyman...
Like I said a few days ago you wont know what you had in Floyd till he is gone and he will not get any love until a few years after he retires... Sad but True

Re: This Is Just Plain Ridiculous and Perplexing to Me..The Scrutiny Of Floyd
if you compare Floyd to fighters who are out there and champions, there is no reason for the scrutiny. However, Floyd is saying he is great-a legend.! Well I grew up watching legends like Hagler and Hearns and Leonard and Duran fight each other. They fought each other!!!!!. What more can I say. Floyd should fight Mosley and Wright and Delahoya. Even though I do not think Oscar is tops now, Floyd should fight him.. But fighting Baldomir and then saying he is a legend opens him up to criticism. He shuts guys out who he fights, but those top guys will push him to a point he might not want. Why else does he do what Roy Jones does and say he is great, but have excuses why he will not fight the best?He says he does not care who insults him, well then why mention it. But fact is if he does not fight a guy who is Hall of Fame material, his career will not look so good in a few years.

Again who will be his perceived nemesis??? I'll tell you this a fight with Winky Wright is absurd....cant even be a serious consideration cause of the size difference

Re: This Is Just Plain Ridiculous and Perplexing to Me..The Scrutiny Of Floyd
let me start by saying this floyd is a skilled fighter no question...
but he is the one making all the claims of the greatest and isnt making the matchups to back up his boasts IMO
thats it for me really :)

think you misunderstand the point of a forum its about different opinions... the thing that makes this place head and sholders above any board out there is the way we can dissagree and still have respect for one another.
try being more active and you will see this. ;)

Re: This Is Just Plain Ridiculous and Perplexing to Me..The Scrutiny Of Floyd
The same thing that bothers me is what bothers some of the other people, sure he's skilled but he walks around claiming to be gor incarnated basically. Oh and why would a fight with winky be so ridicelous, didn't winky come from 154 and he's at 160 now, I'm sure he'd be willing to go back down to 154 for a fight with floyd at that weight, since floyd was talking about moving up or whatever.

Re: This Is Just Plain Ridiculous and Perplexing to Me..The Scrutiny Of Floyd
JT
All I can say is that it is not just people on Saddo boxing who are being critical of PBF's performance.
Here is the video footage of last nights post fight interview with Larry Merchant.
http://www.nowupload.com/?12392
http://www.nowupload.com/archive/12392.wmv
The people (paid customers) booed and left.
Larry told it like it is and Floyd got his pink thong in a major knot.
At the end of the footage, we see two other commentators basicly saying PBF is not who he claims he is.
These are guys from HBO, not from Saddo.
They all work for HBO and PBF has a contract with HBO, but thank God these commentators have the balls and the ability to discern the facts from PBF's fiction.
http://img406.imageshack.us/img406/7120/may1mg7ju7.jpg
PBF is another NAZ.
http://img516.imageshack.us/img516/1628/nazakm5.jpg
So, PBF wants Oscar?
They should give him an Oscar for all the theatrics.

As far as leaving a venue early...I have left plenty of sporting events early when it was so one sided..
Why is this all on Floyd...Baldi stunk up the joint landing 12-13% of his punches and was plodding around the ring like a piece of construction equipment swinging at a ghost....
If he did this to Margarito people would be saying the same nonsense but just twisting it another way...
Do you remember Leonard at a press conference telling Hagler a fight with him will never Happen since he is retireing or when He avoided Aaron Pryor like the plague....
Its to early to be cutting the man 2 pieces over quality of opponents...He just beat the WELTERWEIGHT CHAMP of the world...Not a Belt holder but The Champ..
You guys have to be careful with Margarito..If Clottey wins there is gonna be alot of egg on peoples faces..that boy isint out of the woods yet..Floyd is at a High level right now and there is not anyone who comes close to his skill period...
I ask you who do you want him to fight so he can be worthy 2 you??

Re: This Is Just Plain Ridiculous and Perplexing to Me..The Scrutiny Of Floyd
You pay good money to see a talented fighter like floyd put on unmatched natural boxing skills. You pay to witness his war strategies and how he meticulously breaks his opponents apart. You pay to see his speed and god-like reflexes and his perfected defense. His performance, ultimately, encompassed the strategies and skills to beat a guy like Baldomir. I couldn't ask for more than that. I agree some's expectations are to see him go toe-to-toe and have an outright brawl, but it is in Floyd's nature to fight the way he does. After all why not utilize what's in your arsenel of weapons, in Floyd's case his quickness and beautiful defense.
You have to remember, Emanuel Steward, from what i understand, is a trainer or potential trainer for Margorito, etc etc. I would not agree with Emanual as a commentator 100% of the time given his opinion is or maybe biased.
I consider Floyd the greatest fighter in terms of style, agility, defense, and quickness, but maybe not in terms of the quality of opponents he has fought, though his resume is pretty impressive at this point.
Only time will tell, but in the mean time i sure enjoy seeing this man put on god-like styles and his ability to quickly get in and adapt and systematically break down his opponent.

Emanuel Stewart needs to stfu about Floyd needed to stand and trade with Baldomir. His fighter Hearns did that when he was winning against leonard and got beat. Another one of his fighters that fought that way needs to be in a wheelchair and is blinded. To hell with what he says about Floyd needs to stand and trade ::**

Re: This Is Just Plain Ridiculous and Perplexing to Me..The Scrutiny Of Floyd
I don't think anyone can question Floyd's skill and work ethic...he is a supremely talented fighter. The problem is how he feels he can be mentioned in the same breath as the all time greats. Whether it's Floyd's fault or not...he simply hasn't fought truly great opponents...especially recently. JT, i certainly NEVER thought fighters like Gatti or Baldomir or even Judah could beat Floyd. In the case of Gatti and Baldo...you are talking about 2 fighters who are MUCH slower and less skilled than Mayweather. Floyd and his fans try and make a case that defeating these 2 is a tremendous accomplishment....but those fights are so predictable. Slow and limited skilled fighters against one who is very fast and very skilled...wonder who is gonna win? As or Judah...one of the most mentally unfit fighter there are...that outcome was also easily predictable. I am not gonna hate on Floyd for winning those matches...he simply won against opponents he had no business losing too...he took care of business. But i'm not gonna swing on his nuts and claim that this is further proof that he is an "all time great." So whether it's a case of great fighters avoiding him or he is avoiding great fighters or there simply aren't great fighters out there at this time to challenge him....there just isn't enough examples to call Floyd (or him calling himself) an all time great. He has fought some good fighters early in his career....but he is just coasting right now.

That's exactly it, there isn't one person Floyd could pick to fight next that wouldn't have people like you fabricating every excuse in the book as to why they never had a chance in the first place, and weren't the best fighter he could have picked.. Face it, there's noone out there who doesn't have any major flaws, except Floyd himself.. Say he fights Margarito... Too slow as you say, just like Baldomir and Gatti. terrible footwork, akward wide punches. And who has he ever beaten? Mosley- past it, looked bad recently, hasn't beat a good dangerous fighter in years. Cotto- too green, just moved to 147, suspect chin, blah blah blah. Hatton- just not as good at welterweight, look at the Collazo fight(although I would love to see this one just to shut ppl up). Oscar is the only guy he'll get credit for beating, and he obviously want's that fight.... What more can he do? It's not Floyds fault there's no Thomas Hearns, Duran, and Leonard around to fight. It's pathetic the lengths people go to rag on him. What do you think people said about Sugar Ray Leonard back when he was around(the guy who's jockstrap Floyd will never be able to carry according to many here ::**).. When he fought Duran the 2nd time, he probably received the same flak Floyd is right now.. People saying oh that bitch ran, look what happened when he really tried to fight him. Or when he beat Hearns, people started saying Thommy had a bad chin otherwise would have won easily, rather than acknowledge it having anything to do with the way SRL fought. Hagler, goes without saying that he was criticized for running in that fight. Forget the fact that he came back to fight at 160 after being retired for years, and fought his ass off with the best strategy he could, absorbing a great deal of punishment. But people forget these things as soon as he retired, because all they were doing is hating in the first place.

Re: This Is Just Plain Ridiculous and Perplexing to Me..The Scrutiny Of Floyd
cc JT...at this point Floyds attitude is earning him less fans. If he retires after his next fight like he said then he will not be as appreciated as he could of been. I am still not sure if it is that he hasnt actually fought anybody that can test him or simply that there isnt anybody that can. I look at the 147 division and although there is a plethora of talent there, I dont see anybody that I feel can beat Floyd. I think a couple of fighters might test him, but nobody that I look at and say, yep that is the one to take him out. I think if Floyd moves up to 154 to take on ODLH then he might have some issues, but IMHO I dont think there is anybody that can beat him right now. I am not a PBF nut hugger and I cant stand the guy, but the guy has skills that are unmatched at any 140, 147, 154.

I understand and respect what you are saying but that doesnt hide the fact that Floyd simply doesn't have the resume to be considered an all time great at the moment. And with all due respect...he has never come close to fighting anyone in the class of a sugar ray, hearns, duran, or hagler. I am not making excuses for who he fights...but the bottom line is...fighters like Baldo, Gatti, Judah, etc...just arent great fighters...no where close. I don't doubt Floyd's ability, I just don't view his recent victories as evidence of his "greatness."

Re: This Is Just Plain Ridiculous and Perplexing to Me..The Scrutiny Of Floyd
Hey JT Rock, I'll have to coolclick you for the next 3 days in a row man. Agree with everything you said.
1) Floyd dominated and humiliated an opponent who all the pundits were clamouring to back against him.
2) Larry Merchant is just demented and knows nothing about boxing whatsoever. He should stick to pouring through old books and learning obtuse quotations and tired old cliche's to interject into his periodic meaningless ramblings.
3) Emmanuel is just a plain hater. Before the fight he's saying that this will be a hard fight for Floyd, then when it's clear Floyd is wiping the floor with (as I told everybody he would 8)) he goes to moan that he's not great because he isn't going for the knockout. Total hating. It was plain to see he was fighting one handed over the last four rounds yet he still won every round. A total shutout, dominating performance, a boxing masterclass.
People moan that he didn't knock him out, thats not Floyd's philosophy, hit and don't be hit, he's a defensive master. I really enjoyed watching the p4p number 1 in the sport giving a beat down to an overhyped old journeyman who had been hyped into some kind of Rocky Bolboa warrior. Baldomir did exactly what I expected of him which was to plod around and get hit a lot.
Good luck to him he got his big payday, now he can employ some staff to sell his feather dusters for him.
Meanwhile we can look forward to the winner of Margarito Clottey in a couple weeks time being hailed as the true nemesis to Floyd's crown.......

Re: This Is Just Plain Ridiculous and Perplexing to Me..The Scrutiny Of Floyd
Bilbo,no one really said Baldo was a threat(or if they did, they were praying he would land a lucky punch),he wasn't a threat and had no chance and you can look over my previosu posts and check where I stated this on numerous occassions.

Re: This Is Just Plain Ridiculous and Perplexing to Me..The Scrutiny Of Floyd
Totally disagree. I was one of the few that knew Floyd was going to win,and stated on numerous occassions that he would, maybe even stopping Baldo. The fact that he did not stop Baldo has no bearing on my criticisms on his performance,it's the fact that I did not see a boxing clinic. That's not hating,it's called telling the truth. In one or 2 of the rounds,he wowed me with his lead rights and ducking under what Baldo did but apart from that,he didn't land any bone crunching shots, there was no jab,no bodywork etc etc. That's not hating,it's facts.I don't even see how he hurt his hand,it wasn't as if he was landing cracking shots off the top of Baldo's anvil like head,he wasn't.
I personally am not hunting anyone to beat Floyd,I think he can beat everyone although after seeing last night's fight,I honestly think Tony would give him hell although Floyd would be favourite but what gets to me is the fact that after like 9 rounds in the bag,1 or 2 rounds to go,rather than amaze the crowd or give them something to cheer about,he did nothing but run. That's not artistic, that's not boxing. What aggravates the situation more is that he compares himself to SRR,SRL etc etc yet performs like that!?
Winky Wright leaving after the 9th or 10th round tells me everything!! It's not bullshit,if I'm an average fan who has just shelled out $49.95 to watch that steaming pile of excrement, that's bullshit! If I'm one of the fans that has just helped Floyd recieve $9million for THAT performance, that's BS.
As for the presser after the fight,I think you can see how Floyd feels about the criticism. He doesn't really want to retire,it's just a ploy.(if it's not and he does end up retiring,I'll apologise, but I know I'm right). He knows ain't no one paying to see him in a fight like that again! I wonder what he would do if the other guy is a strong natural WW!?!
In concluding,I reiterate,I am not HATING,I am stating how I feel and have backed it up with facts/opinions. I was expecting to see a boxing masterclass but what I saw was the odd round of skill and the rest of pitter patter shots and running.Judah for the first 6 rounds was more convincing than that!I have not mentioned Hatton simply because Ricky overpriced himself for the fight and has turned it down more times than Floyd has..in my humble opinion,Floyd would beat Ricky.

Ok answer me this. What was the difference between Floyds shutout of Baldomir and Winky's shutout of Trinidad?
To me the Wright Trinidad fight was far more boring than this one but I've never heard anyone hate on Winky for that performance. On the contrary people love him for it, and talk about him being a defensive master and something bordering on genuis.
Plus Winky himself decided to take the 12th round off in his last fight with Taylor, at least Floyd knew he was winning when he slowed down.
I don't get it. Floyd beat Baldomir with more ease than probably any other welterweight would have been capable of and he still gets stick.
If the fight wasn't action packed enough then blame Baldomir, he was the one who did fuck all for 12 rounds.

Re: This Is Just Plain Ridiculous and Perplexing to Me..The Scrutiny Of Floyd
That fight just proved to me that Floyd is a poor version of Roy Jones. hahahaha
I said that before Emmanuel Steward too! :D That Floyd fights like Roy, no jab,
but he has no combination punching like Roy either.
8) Bring on the 5th wave of Sad Clicks "Pretty Boys!" :badass:

Ok That just showed how ridiculously biased Steward is and your comment
1) Roy dosent have half the pure Boxing skills or defense of Floyd....Roys greatness lies in his reflexes strenght and handspeed and elusiveness
2)Roy was much more stronger and physically was better suited for weight jumping until he reached heavyweight in which FOR THE 1ST TIME IN HIS CAREER HE WAS IN THERE WITH SOMEONE WHO HAD A HUGE ADVANTAGE IN SIZE OVER HIM....
If you remember The Ruiz fight it was far less exciting than this fight your are all pissing and moaning about
Then you might as well Say Roy was a poor version of Himself against Ruiz....

Yea Gamo I am a little taken back by this comment and its not really characteristic of you to be so judgemental of a complete whitewash and 50% connect on Baldis melon while Floyd caught only 13%
