Guess what, ODLH wants the Mayweather fight again!!!

It's on boxingtalk. He's basically saying that he's offering Floyd a lot of money and Floyd has a week to accept the deal. I'm guessing the offer is probably somewhere around 12-13 Million and much less than the 20 Floyd wants for the fight. There is probably around a 50 Million pot for this fight and if Floyd is gonna make less than 18-20 Mil, I wouldn't take the fight. I know Oscar is the draw and could probably do a 1 Million buys fighting some bum, but fighting Floyd would mean beating ODLH-Trinidad PPV Numbers. I don't think this fight will come off if Floyd isn't getting at least 35% of the pot. But Oscar won't work with shares, he'll go off of what Floyd's biggest paycheck was (Baldy, 8 Mil) and probably add on 4-5 Million. How much do yall think each fighter should be making if that pot is around 50 Million? God, that is a lot of money for 12 rounds.

I think Floyd will HAVE to eat some HUMBLE pie regardless if this fight is to happen. There's no way in hell Floyd should be making the lionshare or even 50-50. But with Floyd's record and the fact that he is the #1 P4P fighter in the sport has to count for something, it can't just be about Oscar smiling and giving interviews. This will be settled in the ring so Floyd's talent and record should count somewhat. I'd say 60-40 or even 65-35 is probably fair. But we all know ODLH's ego and Floyd's ego, ODLH is gonna offer a 75-25 split and Floyd is gonna want 60-40 in favor of him. So I think it's fair to say that, the two sides ain't gonna come to terms within a week.

I hope Mayweather swallows his pride and takes the fight regardless of price... I want him to show me that he truly cares about being a legend more than "philthy rich"

Apparently on HBO and Foxsports, they've been saying that the pot for both fighters is gonna be around 50 Million if they fight. 15% of 50 Million is 7.5 Million. I would spit in ODLH's face with that offer. I really don't think it's fair for Floyd to make 12 Million while ODLH makes 38 Million. That's fucking ridculous. Floyd should make 20 Million for this fight. Remember this fight isn't just for Floyd's legacy, in fact, it probably matters more to ODLH's legacy than it does Floyd.

Well, actually yeah he does. ODLH has the leverage that he is the far bigger draw based on last weekends PPV, moreover he would be coming out of "retirement" for his last hoorah. If anything was proven last weekend it was that PBF does in fact need ODLH than vice versa.

Yeah, but Winky really has no reason to argue against Taylor because Taylor is more of a draw than Wright, plus Taylor is undefeated and the undisputed middleweight champion. So when Winky is crying about not getting a 50-50 split and he has no belts, I just don't feel for him. Taylor is in most people's top 10 P4P also, so Winky really had no reason to argue. Floyd's case is a bit different.

Agreed. ODLH is the bigger draw, but he did around 900,000 buys for the Mayorga fight. If he fights Floyd that fight is doing double that amount. Floyd really does need ODLH, but let's not underestimate the fact that if ODLH wants to fight and make 30+ Million for himself, he needs Floyd too. ODLH ain't doing 1.8 Million buys fighting anyone else. Except Trinidad.

I agree that he can't expect 50/50 fighting Oscar. I think PBF is better than Oscar and I have no doubt that the Vegas odds would be on PBF, but the fact is that Oscar sells more tickets than anyone else in the sport. I also don't think this fight would sell more than Oscar/Trinidad sold ten years ago (though I'd hope it would sell more than the joke-ass fight Oscar's proposing against the shot and retired Trinidad of today). well I cannot say that Oscar is not older and Floyd shouldn't beat him. Floyd should fight him and should beat him although I think Oscar had some fights there against Sturm and Hopkins where in one fight he was not in shape, and the next one he was just oversized so Floyd better get in shape and expect a good Oscar. At 154 or even a catchweight of 151, Oscar might come in awesome shape and his speed will be better, and he might be able to make it interesting. I am not sure if Oscar has looked bad because of age or the weight so this fight still is attractive. I do know that in my mind Oscar has not taken that much punishment in his career. But Oscar's career whether he fights on or not is solid. He is going into the hall and he is a legend. Floyd does not have the record. What would look better on Floyd's record. A fight with a guy like Williams? or a fight with Delahoya or Mosley. The name means alot on his record. A fight with Tito for Delahoya seems like a waste of time.

Wrong. The ODLH fight isn't an investment for Floyd. If Floyd beats ODLH, he still won't be a huge PPV star. Putting up high PPV numbers is all about personality. That's the reason why ODLH and Tyson were MEGA stars. Floyd talks a lot but he doesn't have the out of the ring qualities of a Ray Leonard or a ODLH to ever do big numbers on PPV. Remember Oscar 1997-2000 was ALL over the place, doing magazine interviews, talk shows, and what not. Floyd puts a lot of people off with his ego. He doesn't have the natural charisma to go along with his cockiness like SRL did. With all that being said, Floyd should go for as much money as he can get from ODLH in this fight because Floyd won't get another megafight again.

BTW, Let's not overestimate how much ODLH doesn't need Floyd. How many PPV buys did ODLH get for fight Felix Sturm? 380,000. But how many PPV buys did ODLH get for fighting Hopkins? 1 Million. Hopkins has never done well on PPV, but the matchup creates a huge PPV. How many PPV buys did ODLH get for fighting Campas? 350,000. But how many PPV buys did ODLH get for fighting the Mosley rematch? 925,000. My point here is that even though this is ODLH's "last fight," the buying public isn't gonna buy crap.

I see Floyd on his bike all night in this one, so Oscar will have to try to cut the ring off. He will try to duplicate what he did with Baldomir, time Oscar coming in, counter, then run. I got a feeling it is going to make for a boring fight except for some spots where Oscar will get close enough to launch a few combo's. Outside of those times it will be a cat and mouse game.
