Kessler today will offer Calzaghe US$3,4 mill to meet him in Copenhagen. .
Team Palle also gave Warren the British TV rights. (If he takes the offer.)
This will by far be Joe's biggest purse ever.
Joe what excuse will you come up with now ?. So far it has been money. With the offer of 4 belts on the line plus by far the biggest purse of his life.. I cannot imagine he can find more excuses
Joe and some of his fans have used the "Kessler isn't a big name, who is Kessler?" excuse to death.

Hopefully, the fight will come off anyway, as there is no doubt it is the biggest fight to be made at SMW at the moment, without a doubt, and the one true statement jangeorg made.

For example - The all British WBC heavyweight title fight between Lennox Lewis and Henry Akinwande took place in the States in front of a thousand punters.

Thats why I get heated when Joe gets the gatepass for level of competition.. But people crirticize Roy Jones and Floyd Mayweather's competion or lack there of and people complain about opponents being handpicked and down play both of those guys achievments but, make Joe out to be some Golden child, granted He has earned and deserves his accolades without a doubt and I am a fan of his but he needs to step it up here...We all know Kessler is the real deal and is more than a formidable opponent and totally makeable fight for Joe....I question in the long run if Joe has the Testicular Fortitude to take Kessler on :-\

If this is true, Calzaghe cant turn this down, i just want to know how they can pay so much?? Calzaghe is first money motivated as proved in the recent documentry, so if this is true Calzaghe would defintly take this amount.

There aint no freaking way on earth Calzaghe should even consider taking that fight in Denmark. Like it or not, kessler is a NOBODY - i still believe Kessler should be the next fight for joe. Preme. Team-Palle HAD to make an offer since Warren WILL NOT make Kessler an offer for a fight in the UK.
If Warren wants the fight in the UK - fine - let's hear an offer and then we'll debate whether it's reasonable.
But the whole point is that Warren has made no such offer.

Sorry mate but im the Biggest Calzaghe fan about, but if the money is in Denmark so be it, whats the problem? Thats where the best opponent is thats where the Money is theres no excuses, Joe is the number 1, but he should take this fight if the numbers are actully correct.
So if thats the case why did Joe travel to Germany to fight Veit in May 05?? I tell you why it was the $$$$$$$, so theres no reason why he cant travel again.

I don't agree with it, and find it very sad for the sport, that these days aranging a fight is like a game of chess, gone are the days when the number one was fighting the number 2 and there was no way out of it. each promoter is looking to secure the best deal for their fighter, any what ever the press tell you, what ever some wannabe supertsar boxer claims doesn't mean a god damn thing. It takes one phone call to some wannabe boxers promoter, for them to be flooding the papaers claiming a deal has been made to make the fight they want to happen teams start to sweat and give into the other camps claim.
all we have hard from "team-palle" is whats been said to the news. And tbh mate anyone who thinks that whats said there is law is just totaly silly lol... what really happens in boxing is what we don't hear about, and ike any side to a story there are 2 of them and we only get parts of the truth...

To link together the subjects of two seperate threads, do you think that by going to the states he should be fighting a mouthy regional fighter Manfredo? I don't think it will do him any good unless he gets a big fight there, beating someone that most of the boxing world believe to be a half-decent fighter at best will do nothing for him except propagate the discontent started by the haters.

The Ottke comparison fits much better on Calzaghe than on Kessler.
German/british markeds compareable. Calzaghe doesn't need to persue big fights (he just pretends) His fans are loyal enough and the UK marked is big enough that he can make heaps of money fighting whoever he cares to. Only real diff is Ottke wasn't with WBO so he actually HAD to face the occational mandatory.
Although Calzaghe has (so far) never needed gift decissions - if he did - no doubt it's just as likely in the UK as anywhere.
Higly amusing to hear a Calzaghe fan use the Ottke comparison - When Calzaghe himself so obviously fits it much better.

I don't mind tatoos but it's the ridiculous ones.....like Kessler's....people always tell me, "my tatoos mean stuff to me" and everyone has the EXACT SAME ONES!!!! Superman, barb wire, crosses, eagles, dragons, celtic, tribal....blah blah blah. I would have angry eyebrows tatooed on me.....that would psych them out!
also haircuts are much cheaper to fix ;D
