I had Brock winning 4-2 rounds. How did y'all see it??
....is HBO scrambled on your TV???
hahaha, I'm just playin it was tough to score Brock was EXTREMELY nervous to start with but that nervous energy carried over to Wlad and he had trouble. Brock did really well, I am proud of him and Wlad gave him his props too!
"Brock is the best boxer out there today...I don't care if he doesn't have a title"....both are CLASS!
I thought Wlad controlled the fight with jab. for the most part the fight was even till the last few rounds when Klit started to run away with it !
Brock has a good defense, but he dropped that guard for one second with that right he never saw coming and that was it. Brock showed his chin and his heart and I was impressed with him. Wlad was too, and I agree, Brock is the best heavyweight out there(excluding Wlad) even if he doesn't have a title. He will one day.
Brock at most won 3 rounds but I say he won 2....the jab was the main point Wlad thumped him in the 5th
this was my scores
1- Wlad
2- Brock
3- Brock
4-Brock
5-Wlad
6- Brock
I thought Brock looked half queer same as always. I think Peter would KO Brock.
come one now....the guy did good...he lasted longer than I thought he would
I don't think Sam Peter could beat Brock.
I disagree with you.. Peter is going to beat lots of folks because of the shear power and his decent work rate for a big guy ! He has what you call the Midas touch . He can crack with both hands even when he is off balance. Once he stabilizes himself and learns more he will be a real handful !Quote:

Personally... Brock did better than I thought...but I truly believe that it was an issue of Wlad starting cold.
Brock did some good body work that kind of nulified Wlad's jab to start...but in the 5th round Wlad's right hand came into play & brought the jab back & then set up the left & it was all over.
Brock just caught Wlad on a bad night...& it then got worse for Brock.
this is how see it also ! also I think Brock was not in great condition, He looked like tits Malone in there. If he was in proper boxing condition he would be a lot tighter and have better legs . .
Wlad's jab was landing good in there.. he controlled the action with that amazing jab.
Tits Malone.Quote:

The last few rounds saved the fight I think... both guys started off a bit flat, and awkward. but the fight materialized into a decent watch . O0Quote:

Much respect to Wlad.
right on Wacko , Brock was a wild card. Does he have power? what can he do? very smart for Wlad to get a feel for this guy before committing to anything. Wlad did exactly correct. use the jab, and once he feels comfortable then let it go,, I like the way Wlad varied his speed, every now and then Klitchko would sling shot that RT something fierce !! VERY VERY FAST. watch it again on a later broadcast. Wlad wants you to get comfortable with a certain speed.. then he throws the fast ball, and its hard to recover from that. .. a thing beauty really. O0Quote:

Then Sunday morn...I watch that shit again...because third times the charm...me wife calls it an affliction...I call that shit dedication...& the love of a widescreen. ;D
I think Brocks body attack was wining those rds. in which he connected to the rib cage.... Gotta give him credit cause thats all Wladdy gave him was rib cage and Brock made the best of it....
I do the same thing... I love to re watching fights . I get an honest view the second go around without emotion . . its crazy.. sometimes its like watching a whole different fight. I think a lot of times I miss parts of rounds from chatting with friends and pizza flying across the room thus leaving me with a false impression of a fight. .Quote:

Very true. I give it 3 goes & then make my decision...because I hate to be drunkenly impulsive. ;DQuote:

You must be VERY VERY drunk! He did nothing in the fight to lay down and quit.Quote:

Was a pretty dam decent fight. I liked how wlad finally got his confidence and just let that jab go, if he had done that from the get go I think brock would have been out in 4 or 5. As for peter I don't think he beats brock, sure he might have power in his fists but I don't think he's skilled enough. I thought it funny how lewis contradicted himself by saying that wlad had a chin of glass during the first round and then saying his chin is a non issue after the fight...
Scoring the fight my card is exactly the same as yours, so our score cards had Brock up 2 points at that time of the KO. Wlad opened up in the 5th rd but somehow Brock stopped the onslought of jabs in the 6th and we all know what happened in the 7th rd. I don't think there can be any doubt who the best HW is right now, it is Klitzko. I don't see any HW beating him unless they land a lucky punch. You guys may think I'm crazy but I think the giant Russian would give him the most trouble only because he is so huge, certaintly not because he can box or punch. Wlad has the hard straight fast and sharp punches that will eventualy beat or knockout any other HW out there right now.Quote:

He did better than I expected in the fight, but Wlad didn't come out popping the jab like I thought he would either. It took 3 rounds to KO Brock after Wlad established the jab; he could have started this process sooner and got the same result in 3 or 4 rounds.
I had it level going into the 7th...but Wlad was in no real trouble at any time in the bout...
I think Brock is pretty good and has a chance against any of the other champs...
I want to see Klitschko/Valuev next dammit. I think this fight will be very interesting since Wlad will have to punch up instead of down with that extra weight behind the punch. Can he stop Valuev? I would order it PPV
It would be pretty one sided IMO....Wlad is actually pretty skilled. Doesnt go to war for a bit of fun and knows its about not being hit too much. Valuev wouldnt test Wlads chin that much and Wlad would get inside easily. He has a far more incisive jab.Quote:

Im a huge Toney fan, but it could be a miserable fight for me. Toney is perhaps over the hill. His skill should have negated Peters power. Perhaps second time lucky. But Toney has too many chances.

I no longer invite people to my house for that reason. My g/f thinks it's ridiculous but I cannot stand the distraction. I even turn the ringer off the house and cell phones.
Me too. I got the very same curiousity.Quote:

I think that Wlad would pretty much smoke Peter. Toney would be a good fight...Wlad would close him out in the end though. It's be fun to see how Toney took Wlads jabs.Quote:

Brock didn't do much better than Byrd did. He even got hammered out in the same round as Byrd. In round one Brock looked like Woody Allen in boxing gloves. It seemed the fight was over before it started and I give him credit for not melting into a blob and oozing under the bottom rope out of embarrassment. That's what I would have done.
On a side note... was it just me or did the slow motion replays of Brock getting flattened look slower and cripser than they normally do for other fights. They were showcasing him for sure. I think the next Wlad fight will be for another title and be PPV.
Brock fought better than Byrd IMO...Quote:

I hope those Toney fans never have to see that. Wlad is much bigger, stronger, and (in most cases) skilled than his opposition. Most people knew Brock was going to get put out. In the fight he was just pushing away Brock's left hooks and jabs to the head. It seemed like a weight class difference when I watched it a second time. Wlad was MUCH stronger in there.
As for Brock...he was nervous! Madison Square Garden, infront of thousands of fans, millions watching on TV, and MUHAMMED ALI AT RINGSIDE....so he was nervous and he still did wellQuote:

Wacko are you still drunk?
#1 Valuev has NEVER fought a puncher like Wlad
#2 Valuev has shown a questionable ability to take a punch against nonpower punchers
#3 Wladimir is more athletic
#4 Wladimir is a better boxer
#5 Wlad can spar Vitali to prepare for such a fight
#6 Wlad's hands are 100 times faster than Valuev's
#7 For a big guy Valuev punches like a sissy!
#8 Valuev rabbit punches....and as seen vs Sam Peter Wlad can take those
#9 Valuev has NEVER fought an opponent at their peak
#10 Wladimir has the best corner in boxing: Manny Steward, Vitali Klitschko, and probably most under appreciated JACOB DURAN who fixed up that cut pretty good.
I think Wlad would take his time with Nico, he wouldn't rush into anything but he may want to do like Ali-Foreman and pop him once early to let him know who's the boss. IMO Wlad needs to stay in close vs Valuev and use the left hook right hand combo
