Mayweather vs. Pacquaio? possible fight?
Mayweather weighed in last fight at the most he has ever weighed(149), and Pacquaio after having gone down to 129 still weight 144 meaning they must be relatively close in weight... I think Pacquaio is would be more competition than Hatton form the aspect of his speed, and power, but that he might not have the chin. I think this would be a fight Mayweather would win, but a fight that would be fun to watch until Pacquaio would be stopped.
-
Re: Mayweather vs. Pacquaio? possible fight?
Perhaps this fight could be made at 140?
-
Re: Mayweather vs. Pacquaio? possible fight?
Haven't thought about this one before, but to be honest don't think it would happen they are both going in different directions...
-
Re: Mayweather vs. Pacquaio? possible fight?
I really don't want to see Manny dominated right now.
I'm not sure if Pacquiao would beat Raheem.
-
Re: Mayweather vs. Pacquaio? possible fight?
Hahahah i know Pac groupies won't like to hear this but Floyd would have that bum out of there in 2!!, The difference in class is so wide i just can't see Floyd even knowing who Pac is!! ;D

Re: Mayweather vs. Pacquaio? possible fight?
PAC weigh 129 before and 144 on the fight.. Mayseather could weight 149 before and 164 on a fight.
Pacquaio cant win agianst Mayweather because is always running.haha. He should be call PACMAN because he is the one running to his opponent. But I think with PAC speed he can hit Mayweather.
PAC cant win and also Mayweather, its a draw.
But if he deside to fight close, even at that weight difference. Mayweather will go down and will lose. PAC can down middle weight boxer/sparring partner in tranning. LOL
;D are you guys serious. PAC wont fight a gayboy... :lickish:

Re: Mayweather vs. Pacquaio? possible fight?
That is very interesting about their actual fight weights, but no way this will happen (and if it did, I think PBF just seriously outclasses Pac--though I agree it would probably be more competitive than PBF-Hatton). I think I'd put money on Pac beating Hatton though.

No, the whole point is that Mayweather weighed 149 when he stepped in the ring. He was fighting for the WW world championship, so obviously he didn't weigh in at over 147 before the fight.

Re: Mayweather vs. Pacquaio? possible fight?
Well if they fight i'll give my bet on PAC. They all said before Barrera outclass PAC and he beat him. MOrales too. I like PAC because he always beat the odds. For me as long as you got power your always in the game. PBF is really good and great but I dont bet on a boxer who is always punch and running. why dont he fight oscar or shane???

Than you'll be losing your bet. And Floyd is set to fight Oscar

Re: Mayweather vs. Pacquaio? possible fight?
Really? PBF vs. OSCAR? nice!!!
PBF is good but like I said as long as you got power you're always in the game.
I think PAC can KO PBF with 1 punch.
But PBF can really beat PAC 12 rounds to 0.
Thats also what I thought ROY JONES JR. would do to traver. hehehe ;D

Re: Mayweather vs. Pacquaio? possible fight?
pac will k.o floyd...floyd can't brawl for shyt...pac can counter now with a right hook...pac makes every oppenent brawl because his so fast no one can stop pac getting inside mark my words if they fight in a reasonabl weight floyd will fall...pac is true p4p king...floyd is a fraud he was hesitant to punch baldomir even though baldo is the slowest out there...jst because he can hit and run don't mean his invinsible pac will make him brawl and catch floyd and put him out cold...floyd only wins against slow a$$es and pac is no slow motion fighter his all action with a brutal power it just legendary broke iron chin morales image him catching pretty boy with it...its over pac is the real p4p king...floyd is jst another american blow up doll bkuz of his speed hit and run and hand pick oppenents jst like r.j...but talent loses to power speed and brawler...all three keys point to pac victories pac speed power and seer brutal force to brawl too much for pretty boy...so yea fraud floyd shoud tuk his record between his cheeks and hide behind a tree...pac would ruin his protected career.
-
Re: Mayweather vs. Pacquaio? possible fight?
The only problem is that its hard to gage the difference in power between a WW and a SFW.
Granted PAC is prob P4P the hardest hitter but Floyd dropped chico like 3 or 4 times at SFW did he not?
What im saying is that power can be deceptive as far as weight classes are concerned.
If the fight was made at 140 (as in now) who knows? Could Pac fight at 140?
If the fight was made 4/5 years ago, Pac was too raw and limited back then.
Good points about Pac's ability to get inside though... Right now, at 130, he's unstoppable :-\
-
Re: Mayweather vs. Pacquaio? possible fight?
yes pac is unstoppable in 130...but this fight can only happen on 135...won't be surprise because pacs first fight on 126 was mab on 130 it was em on 135 he`d only go prolly to fight floyd...pac moving up won't be as bad as floyd getting drained to go down 135...all points to demise of floyd...floyd did drop corrales dozen of times...pac has a iron chin since his grown and mature though...so the now pac the now floyd is what we are talking about...floyd didn't look at all fast in his last fight he look average speed specially against slow motion baldomir...pac always improving always dangerous...talent floyd has...but pac does too add on brawlers heart speed and power what the hell does floyd have on him...boxing skills? em and mab has that but pac is too brutal you can't go 12 without brawling with him and brawling with him is suicide plus floyd can't brawl at all...so all points to floyd being ruin...pac yes is now key word now p4p king...
-
Re: Mayweather vs. Pacquaio? possible fight?
I was so sure PBF would spank Pac at any weight class but after seeing last night, Man Pac just gets better time and again. And one of the keys that I really thought could give Floyd problem is someone who could match his speed. Yep, Pac can do that it's just a matter of his ability of inflicting damage on PBF is what I'd love to see. If Pac's punches won't hurt him then there is no chance, if it does then it would be a great fight say maybe at a catch weight maybe 138 - 143. Pressure won't work on Floyd as I saw Baldomir tried to do that for 12 rounds so matching speed for speed and I believe that Pac would still have that Pop in his punches, it would be fireworks for boxing.

I'm completely serious. Pac hits harder, is faster, and is much better at doing the same things Hatton does. I don't think this is too crazy--Pac is universally higher ranked P4P than Ricky Hatton. It's just a question of how big an issue the size would be.
It's definitely a lot less crazy than the fanboys on here talking about Pac beating PBF. Pac has trouble with boxers (see JMM--who's less technically talented than Floyd and smaller), but against a brawler like Hatton who's open for a lot of shots--Pacquiao usually looks very very good.
-
Re: Mayweather vs. Pacquaio? possible fight?
Come on guys, let's be serious here. Don't forget where Mayweather was racking up all his TKOs and KOs, at lightweight the guy was almost superhuman. Manny's got great hand speed and is very quick, but Floyd will chip away at him because Manny doesn't have great defense. That would be a great fight to watch though. Anybody that thinks Floyd would run from anybody smaller than him at 135 or 140 is just stupid.

Have you been smoking something dude?? Pac v Hatton you being serious lmao!!!! Hatton would have him out of there in 4 rounds. Pac hits harder than Hatton, well id like to see how ( ex flyweight ) Pac reacts to a left hook to the body, two or three of them and Pac would be out for the count my friend.
While we are at it, why dont we get Cotto in with Juan Manuel Marquez on the same bill, we would need extra medics at this fight if that was the case.
P4P Pac is higher but he is so much smaller can you really see Pac going toe to toe with Hatton?? Man your insane!!!

Look dude, this whole thread is about a crazy fantasy match-up between PBF and Pacquiao. That one would not even be close. That's crazy. And yet a bunch of people have come on here and said, "yeah, Pacman would totally KTFO PBF." I can't believe that the thing you're picking out as so insane is a statement that Manny could give Hatton a hell of a fight.
I'm not saying I think he'd totally dominate Hatton like he did Morales, and I specifically said that the weight issue would be the big question. (note that even in the bolded statement that's giving you conniptions, I prefaced it with "I think"). Hatton is not a huge puncher for his weight, and Pacman is. I think enough so that he'd still puch harder than Ricky at 140. I think it would be a good, competitive, action-packed fight. The idea that Hatton would somehow end it in 4 rounds seems much more reflexive and "insane" than the idea that Pacquiao could win a close fight. That's all I'm saying--not that this fight or a Pac-PBF fight has any chance of ever happening anyway.
-
Re: Mayweather vs. Pacquaio? possible fight?
Pacquiao vs. PBF will never happen for the same reason that PBF vs. Winky will never happen.
Pac started at Bntm and moved up to 130. PBF started at 130 and moved up to 147, and 154 in his next fight.
What would be the catch weight? The Pac team is riding high, but it is a known fact that they are nervous about moving him even to Ltwt...
Hypothetically, Floyd would outbox him the way JM Marquez did. Pacquiao is an ACTION fighter. His style would provide the fireworks people were looking for in PBF v Gatti back in '05. He might even catch and floor PBF, but ultimately we all know who is the better boxer. PBF by close decision!
Shza--my comments above respond to your assumption. What would be a reasonable catch weight?
KO Man--good points, but can Pacquiao sustain the power--and accuracy to beat Floyd at another weight (140?) Most people don't realize that Baldomir threw almost twice as many punches as Mayweather. The difference for him was that he couldn't catch Floyd. Besides, who do you spar with to prepare you for the likes of a PBF?
Pac v. Hatton-- This would be a perfect fight if Pac fights his next 5 a 135. It's not likely, as Hatton is already struggling to make 140. He's just too small to fight at 147.
-
Re: Mayweather vs. Pacquaio? possible fight?
i dunno about this one guys. as alot people have said it would depend on the weight. it would be a disadvantage to pacman if he moved up to fight mayweather but a disadvantage to mayweather if he moves down.
-
Re: Mayweather vs. Pacquaio? possible fight?
Wont happen and if it did, pac would have to come up in weight coz floyd wouldnt drop down to pacs weight. So the question is could pac carry his power up to say 140? Im not quite sure he would or could. Actually im pretty certain he wouldnt and if he didnt have his tremendous power then his style isnt good against anyone like pbf, hatton....or anyone who hits hard.
-
Re: Mayweather vs. Pacquaio? possible fight?
First of all, this would never happen. Second, as much as I love Pac and don't really like PBF, Floyd would KILL him. Against a little guy like Pac, Mayweather would actually have some power. I really doubt Pac could hit any harder at, say 140, than Mayweather, and Mayweather has more skill and imho, more speed. Morales, who isn't much of a puncher at 130, was able to hit hard enough in the first fight to keep Pac off him enough to win. Floyd woud likely do the same Pac as Morales did in the first fight, except that he would stop him earlier.
As for Hatton, he would just bully him into submission. He's just too small to mess with those boys. Let him move up and beat Casamayor first. Then maybe I'll reconsider.

Mayweather couldn't weight 164 unless he was as fat as James Toney.

Re: Mayweather vs. Pacquaio? possible fight?
These are a few reasons why I think Pacquaio would last longer than two rounds against Mayweather.
1. He punches in bunches, and though he isn't as fast as Zab Judah he is as close as anyone.
2. I've noticed he has really quick feet, and that he would pressure Mayweather far more effectively than Hatton could.
3. I truly believe Pacquiao would carry his punching power up to at least 140, and maybe somewhat up to 147... He is a strong guy, and can obviously pack on more muscle.
4. He is southpaw, and loves to throw the straight left.

Re: Mayweather vs. Pacquaio? possible fight?
Is PB a 6 footer? PAC is 5'6"1/2
O.K. your Pretty Boy is better and has more skills and all.
BUT!!!
It's like Joe Frazier fighting a bigger, taller and more skilled ALI. But Joe KOed ALI.
What are you saying PAC has no power he knocked down his 130,135,140,145 and even a 160 middle weight sparring partner at wild card gym. O0
But if PB cant feel PACs power then its safe to say its a 8 round to 4 fight or even 12-0.

1. Pac would never be able to cut off the ring to catch floyd
2. Floyd would set him up with the jab an frustrate him
3. Too big, Pac started as a flyweight right...he will never be able to carry the power up. I think he is at the weight class where he will finish his career

Pac is a great fighter IMO. The most exciting fighter out there right now. But let's not make him out to be Superman. Let's be realistic.
Did you read my post titled Delusional Fans. It was about a thread on another board. Read it it is kind of funny.
Pac is a great fighter. Lots of respect, nice guy.

I'm not sure i Agree that Pac is the most exciting boxer Mad_dog, i mean doesn't it depend on who certain boxers are facing?, I mean for example if Floyd faced the likes of Barrer and Morales when he was down at 130 wouldn't the fights have been just as exciting?, And when Floyd is in the kind of mood he was in when he faced Gatti i can't think of a more exciting boxer bro!! for real.
