i've noticed on these boards that there are more Pac haters than lovers
i personally think he's the shit and is definately one of the best at the moment
his display of skill was undeniable and those who say otherwise are probably racist or just don't like asians
give the guy some props will you? he was brilliant and i look forward to his upcoming matches

First of all, I think MOST people on this board are pac fans...and even if they are not a fan I've NEVER seen anyone hate on him.

Pac gets plenty of respect. If your using boxing message boards to gauge the popularity of your boy, you're using the wrong measuring stick.
Pac gives boxing fans hardcore and casual what they want to see. Action fights, where he lays it all out every night giving fans their monies worth. Respect comes in the form of how many tune in for his fights.
Your boy is more popular with the overall public than the heavyweights these days. I cant remember a time when 130 pound title fights could outdraw a heavyweight title contest.
trust me your boy is well respected.
what burns me is that most pac disciples take it very personally when one makes an observation about Pac's fighting style. I like Pac and he is in my top five current fighters. it is the fans that bother me.
theres no racism here, but i also noticed that after the 3rd fight with morales. people just started to shoot pac down. kesyo pac beat up an almost dead EM, why didnt u guys said that before the fight?
Yeah i gotta disagree too. Pac gets respect even from people who dont like him.
Hes probably in everybodys top 10 P4P list and not once have i heard a negative comment about him being asian.
Id say Filipino boxers even get more props. "yea hes from the Phillipines" sounds a lot better than "Yea, hes from England" ;D

Personally coming from someone who is Asian Pacific Islander myself, I can see how one can say he does not get the LOVE he so deserves for being Asian, but also I was at the GRAND FINALE RINGSIDE and i saw the 18,000 plus people 1/2 divided into MEXICO and API's both representin. For many years hard core mexican fans come out and take pride in representing their fighters. one interesting thing i found was that the mexican fans were chanting: MEXICO(ME-HICO),NOT MORALES????
while the pac fans were chanting: MANNY MANNY MANNY
so its interesting to see just by that, the mexicans take pride in mexican fighters period, where the API's wasnt chanting FILIPINOS, or MANILA, or ASIANS but MANNY!!!!!!

I think the reason people think Pacs fans are annoying is because it's often Phillipinos who know very little english but spam forums with the Royal approach... Somebody posted a thread called dillusional fans that had some quotes from another board or something it was hilarious.
Probably its bacause hes beating up on old legends its not the best way to become popular remember Larry Holmes beating Ali, I hated the man for years and wanted him to get his. But when he did Id become very fond of him

How are people biased against him? He's ranked #2 p4p by the Ring Magazine, and most people here think highly of him... just because people say he wouldn't be able to beat guys like Mayweather doesn't mean that we are disrespecting him.

I like PAC also EM. my take in the fight Pacman was waaaaayyy stronger and EM was a walking corpse with the bigges fucking heart ever but the strongger PAC killed it. I wasn't gona put $$ inthis fight but after I saw the weight in I went running and put $500 down for PAC if the fight would have been at 135 I wouldn't Put down not even a cent.
They should give EM fighter of the decade award or something how many best fight of the year he ie been in it?

Stupid thread. Almost everybody respects Pac, most like him cause of his fighting style. Every fighter has their "haters", probably some people that don't like him are die hard Barrera and Morales fans, but even a lot of their fans respect him. Why does every fighter have to be loved by all, who cares if some people don't like Pac or PBF or whoever.
Pac-Man, in the past, did not get respect was due to the fact that his fans blew it for me & he had a questionable loss or two at the hands of some underacheivers.
Total different picture now.
Everyone here knows that I am a Morales, Barrera, & Marquez fan.
Pac destroyed 2 of 3 of my heroes.
He's got my respect. Nuff said. I am impressed.
No it's not that, it's just that there are many Erik and Barrera fan's out here who grew up to love these two boxers over many years and this hardly known kid come out of nowhere and beat them badly, so naturally, he became an instant 'bad guy' in their eyes. It's really hard for their fans to shake off their love for these two fighters coz they gave them many years of excitement that caught their hearts, and once someone catches your heart, believe me, it'll be next to impossible to get them off your system. We're just seeing the backlash from that. But it'll be the new generation of boxing fans today and tomorrow, whatever their race, who will give Pac his due respect just as the generations before gave them theirs.Quote:

i think him not getting repect from some fight fans have more to do with his size than his race. Some fans, mostly the casual Heavyweight fans just think of him as a midgit posing as a boxer.
That;s 1 thing I dislike about boxing fans.....look at the TON TON TON of talent from Ivan Calderon to Arce,Rafa Marquez,Ponce De Leon,Vazquez,Pacman etc etc etc etc that's weight classes brimming to the rim with boxers, punchers p4p fighters,P4P hardest hitters,P4P most exciting etc etc yet they would rather pay to see aging,slow,boring HW fighters,past their primes or never reached a prime just because they are big,,,,look at the amount of HW fights we have seen this year,now how many have been exciting?
