Tony better move up to 154 and like do it quick. LOL
Because my boy Cotto is going to own the WWD.
I have no doubt Cotto will KTFO Margarito (if Margarito can make it past Williams).Quote:

How good does that make Cotto? I expect Cotto to beat Margarito... always have... Just like it didn't take him getting outclassed last night for me to see Floyd is in a different league... but seeing as how high you rate Margarito... you don't even think he has a chance? :P
The wind blew did it? ;)
YES!!! Cotto is the truth. Damn Arum really has this one up hasn't he?
lol you should know I am not a huge Maragarito fan. What makes me laugh is that the greatest of all time is scared of him. That's all.Quote:

and when it was all said and done....Duran uttered "NO MAS!!!!" as would Cotto.....PBF is in his own league....Quote:

Cotto would not give up chasing PBF nor cutting off the ring. This is not some old azz Baldomir we are talking about. Just because Old azz Baldomir could not catch him does not mean Cotto can't. Cotto is getting a lot better at cutting off the ring. Corrales could not cut PBF off and that is why he failed. I will have to say that Baldomir did a better job at it than Corrales did.Quote:

Agreed! I don't understand why people compare Cotto to others Floyd has fought...it doesn't make sense. None of Floyd's opponents had hit as hard as Cotto. People also have to consider that Cotto's off season/walk around weight is around 170lb...you can tell that when he comes into the ring he's around 15lbs heavier from the weigh in. I honestly think Cotto is the REAL DEAL and if/when he gets through with Margarito...Mayweather will have no choice but to fight him. On a side note, I'm quite happy that Cotto is finally getting the respect he deserves and people are starting to mention his name in the same breath as PBF...8)Quote:

Show me where I ever said he was the best.Quote:

I have never said everyone is afraid of Tony. I have however said that PBF fears him :)

c'mon danny........................ you gotta own up. when judah lost (was robbed) to baldomir i didnt even want to go to work for the next couple of days because of the explaining i knew i was gonna have to do, but i did................. and it sucked
p.s. judah would give margarito a serious beatdown ;)
I doubt we'll ever see Cotto-Margarito cuz I don't think Margarito can beat Williams. But if it would happen, I'll take Cotto by 3rd round knock out over Margarito and 7th round knock out over Williams. I still think Mayweather beats Cotto. But the gap betwwen them has closed some.
I dont know if Cotto can/will beat Floyd jr., but I believe he has the best chance right now. He showed some good things during the fight, but Floyd just has a speed that nobody else has right now. I think once Cotto becomes more comfortable with being at 147 then he has to take on PBF (if he is still around). I dont know if he is ready for him right now, but even if they fought now I still think Cotto has the best chance of beating PBF. Cotto doesnt waste punches, he can cut the ring off, and the POWER. Either way it would be a great fight.
Yes, I do believe he will.
Cotto
Clottey
Margarito
Quintana.... that's the order of class that happened last night. The top three could easily compete or eat the rest of the Welter's alive.
Obviously Clottey's underrated. The man's defense made Margarito's offense into nothing. His left was amazing. If Clottey was just a big sharper on his counterpunching it could have been devastating for the WBO titlist. Not to mention Clottey's speed. It wasn't until he hurt his left that he was dominated. He LOST. Margarito was more consistent throughout the fight. That hurt left turned the tides, ALSO Clottey couldn't match Antonio's stamina either, which didn't help for his case. I wouldn't mind if a rematch was made, just make it more than 3 months from now and give Antonio better sparring and I think Tony can come back.
Cotto looked like a complete fighter. Balance, counter, trade, inside, outside, composed... He looked A PLUS!!! He even posed like a bad motherf*cker for a second!
Margarito looked human for once. :o Maybe he can actually get fights now! Judah, Mayweather, Mosley won't be running away for long anymore! ;) Margarito just needs better sparring. He hasn't gotten that in years, and since he's been able to blow everybody away nobody really ever noticed...They just defended Mayweather's risk reward ratio.
Quintana did his job. Cotto just broke him down. The only reason I thought Arum took this fight was for Cotto to nip this guy while he was still a little green. But PROPS FOR COTTO for taking this fight and not pulling a Hatton. And Props to Margarito for taking on Speedy Clottey.
It wasn't Margarito's best performance but in a way,it may have done him some good,he may actually get the bigger fights now. For whatever reason, ring rust, injuries, lack of sparring or sombination of them all,Margarito wasn't his best against Clottey but I don't think that would have as much a bearing on a Cotto fight.
Clottey's defence was simply sensational last night, and although Cotto hits harder than Clottey, his defence is not as good and I think Margarito would tag him quite a few times. Cotto would obviously have his chances but last night also showed how tough Margarito is,he took some hellacious shots. I'd still fancy Margarito,we still have yet to see Cotto's stamina fully tested but either way,2 of my best fighters fighting, one will rule the WW division so I'm the winner and hey,the BOTH took TOUGH TOUGH fights last night, fights which they could have lost, more than can be said of any of the other titles holders or there nearest rivals ;)
Personally I have never been sold on Margarito he is pretty good at the moment. but that's it. Cotto looked great STRONG Mofo ( Hatton Be careful) and look for me with mmore stamina. I do want to see Margarito figgt P. Williams first and If he wins then go to Cotto and tha fight I want to se is Cotto - JUdah a lot of people I might say the mayority of the people say the Judah will win by KO and win rounds very convinsingly and it did kind of get me because is like rating Cotto Low so I really want that fight to be made and some people said that it was gonna be in MSG. hmm
bump
2 years ago, Cotto had already said he would beat Floyd's boogie man ;D
I think Cotto can knock Margarito down a couple times but to KO Margarito a guy who can take a hell of a beating.....I am not sure but then again every time I doubt Cotto he shows up better than ever
I want add that Margaros Team knows Cotto and Margaro know what Cotto can do too , so they should have a good plan , but i assure if Margaro decide to fight really , he will be KO , everybody can say a lot of thing , but that is what will going to happen...........;D
SO happy this fight was made, i know you are getting good odds on tonni smashing cotto...
i realy don't like cotto (wish i did but i don't) all action, strong tough, good skills, but he will fight dumb, be in toni#s face for the time the fight ladsts, he has a stigg jab but will get smashed. he has more skill than magarito, but he will come to him non stop, and put him to sleep.
gunna win so much from the bokkies from this.
Sorry, I can't see Cotto putting Tony's lights out. If anyone gets knocked out it will be Cotto. And that's my prediction, Margarito 10th round tko. If not Cotto will win UD.
Being 50% Rican 50% Mexicano and obviously a huge huge fan of both this fight will be hard to watch ala Tito-De La Hoya. Both represent their countries with pride as well as respect the game and who came before them, class acts. Whoseever body holds up the best will win. The two best body punchers we got p4p, with that said I gotta go with Cotto though, the man is in his prime and I honestly can't see anyone beating him in the wwd.
This fight will be similar to the Cotto/Torres fight, With Marge coming out on top http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Sk6gV6aGXPQ
I don't think so....Torres was a late replacement, Cotto didn't try to box him, and Torres was around the same height as Cotto and other than not going to the body Torres fought pretty smart.
Miguel Cotto has shown he can box effectively vs some decent guys....Abdullaev, Pinto, Mosley, and hell you can even say Alfonso Gomez. Cotto is going to pick his spots and put the power in his punches and make each one count.
Margarito is the brainless brawler of the two...he's going to fight in a crouch giving up his height (a big no-no), his defense is worthless and the mass amounts of punches he throws long and slow with his lanky arms are going to make him subject to some very dangerous counter punches.
Toni hunches over and I think Miguel is going to focus on boxing him shooting the 1-2 and landing the bread and butter left hook but he's going to throw an uppercut and wobble the hell out of Margarito and may put him down.
Toni has the size advantage and seems to have the better chin but Cotto can box and has better defense when he uses it.
To think I actually remember reading this thread. rep for bumping it. :)
