Just another one of Wacko's Drunken Round by Rounds : Taylor vs Ouma
Well...once again...it's on.
Here's the thing...ole' Wacko's under the weather this week...I've had the flu & a bad case of the sharts for going on two weeks now.
Train all you want bitches...but if you want to lose weight fast...catch yourself a nice strain of the flu.
Anywho...as usual...it's getting close to that time once again...& you know what that means?
Yep. It's time to sit back, toss the remote, break out the laptops, or just...casually turn your telee towards your compu-station...because my fellow boyo's...it's fight night...I've been juicin up on the cough meds & am on the road to recovery. Hope that by Saturday night I will have totally kicked this bug in the a**...but it aint looking good right now...
Be that as it may, youv'e all already had your say so...so now...I'm gonna have mine.
It's gonna be a slack one...due to the fact that the ole' cought medicine's got me head spinning & I'm just too damned sick right about now to get into all the factors of the fight.
Anywho, this Saturday night at the Alltel Arena in Little Rock, Arkansas the WBC, WBA, & the WBO middleweight titles are all on the line as Kassim Ouma ( 29 fights with 25 wins, 2 losses, 1 draw, & 15 ko's) jumps up in weight to face argueably the best man at 160lbs in Jermain Taylor ( 26 fights with 25, 1 draw, & 17 ko's).
Honestly, I see this fight as a mismatch...a stupid stunt by Ouma's promoters & a gimmee for Taylor.
The thing is...what if it's not? What if Ouma see's something in Taylor that a lot of us have missed? What if Ouma's heart & output is enough to lock in one of the greatest upsets of 2006?
Yeah...what if?
Anyways, I don't see "YES"...not even a "MAYBE" to any of those questions above. Not many of you do either judging from the poll...that being said...if Ouma can actually negate Taylor's (the natural bigger man) jab throughout the fight...then he might have a shot...but I seriously doubt that he can. Taylor's a notch above Ouma in both height, weight, & reach. Kinda makes you wonder just what the fwock they were thinking...
Same thing goes for me...thinking that I would actually be up to the task of coming up with something even halfway readable in my current bed ridden state.
Let's just dispense with the formalities, pop some tops or pour up your poison of choice & head for the couch...wer'e gonna be knee deep up in this shiz once again & I'm pulling out all the stops from the bed for the DRBR this time.
Cheers & koneecheewah bitches...my fever has finally broken...so Saturday will be a better day.
Late round TKO by Jermain Taylor.

Re: Just another one of Wacko's Drunken Round by Rounds : Taylor vs Ouma
Im the first (corrected: second) to respond this week!! ;D
:coolclick:, Wacko
I cannot watch any fights anymore because I moved apartments and this place doesnt have the cable channels we had before. All I have are 6 Korean channels that give me endless torment!! Its horrible. Not even any BBC world news to listen to just for the accents!! :(
Im going with Taylor actually giving a convincing display. Im hoping Ouma can go the distance though. I like Ouma but he is silly for taking a fight with a much bigger guy....

Re: Just another one of Wacko's Drunken Round by Rounds : Taylor vs Ouma
The move to 160 is just ridiculous IMO, if Kassim was a big 154 pounder that would be one thing but he's not.
Either way, still looking forward to it. Wouldn't be the biggest upset of all time, he'd just have to survive the first 4-6 rounds and wear Taylor out down the stretch. Even then though, gonna be hard to get a decision in Little Rock. And there's obviously a reason why most people are picking Taylor.
And Sal picking him is the ultimate kiss of death. ::** ;D

its not a spelling error, thats how i say his name (MAJ-A-LINI) because i am so unimpressed by him ive heard his name said probably over 100 times in all the fights ive seen him in and still i cant remember his name 5 minutes after a fight he is in, also, he is gonna get destroyed, cherry is the fuckin man!!! :D

Re: Just another one of Wacko's Drunken Round by Rounds : Taylor vs Ouma
CC Wack. I'm looking for JT to look in this fight,a complete mismatch, like Oumafan said,Ouma is a small 154 pounder and hardly a murderous puncher. I can excuse JT for not looking his best v WInky and B Hop,no one looks good against those 2 but I'm looking for him to make a statement here.A knockout would be nice but I DEFINITELY want to see what he has learnt from his time with Steward.

Re: Just another one of Wacko's Drunken Round by Rounds : Taylor vs Ouma
cc wack, easy win 4 taylor im thinking
hope im wrong but cant see it
ive found a formular tht never fails
if sal backs them, there gonna lose, simply as ;D

Re: Just another one of Wacko's Drunken Round by Rounds : Taylor vs Ouma
How's going Wacko, I love these pre-fight talks so please bear with my usual rambling. 8)
I've seen these two fighters fight only once each so I'll keep this one short. I saw Kassim, I think, on the undercard of Oscar-Mayorga fight, and thought that he was a 'pretty good' fighter - that's how I rate most of the better-known fighters who are good but don't stand out much unlike the Floyds or the Winkies. But Taylor, I've noticed that he's the only one so far who's punches penetrated the the great stonewall of Winky. Not only that, even when he didn't penetrate the gloves, he still hit them hard enough to bang Winky's head through his own gloves. He was able to keep Winky at bay for the entire 12 rounds with his straights and jabs, something most failed to do. Even Trinidad, whom I considered the p4p biggest puncher of the 90's, heir to SRL of the 80's, wasn't able to do that - he just wasn't able to bring his power up with his weight. But the problem with Taylor in that fight was that he was just contented barely keeping Winks at bay. I think he was pretty much intimidated (sorry Taylor fans, I didn't mean to hurt you :-\) and maybe a bit hurt too and at the end rounds he looked IMO like Tarver before he 'no mass-ed' on Hopkins. I think Winky himself was hurt too, coz they both refused to consider a rematch immediately after the fight.
So to make it brief, Ouma definitely is a pretty good fighter but Taylors got the punch, so watch out.
-
Re: Just another one of Wacko's Drunken Round by Rounds : Taylor vs Ouma
cc wacko, love the DRbR's.
I will be surprised if this fight makes it to the late rounds. Taylor will be to big to strong for Ouma. Ouma's punchs will only have the affect as a fly to a horse, nothing.
Taylor by (T)KO in the middle rounds.
-
Re: Just another one of Wacko's Drunken Round by Rounds : Taylor vs Ouma
Ouma is really reaching for the stars on this one..
He'll get beat badly.
Hope he doesn't tho.. I like his story.. And his balls....
On that note, i hope these two aren't gonna be wearing the new Reyes Gloves Smashup so kindly showcased to us previously ::**
-
Re: Just another one of Wacko's Drunken Round by Rounds : Taylor vs Ouma
Although they are 2 divisions apart, at least.
I don't hear Ouma complaining. ;D I hear he's gonna bring it.
Everybody here knows he's gonna lose, except him. :)
Should be a great showing.... from Ouma, not Taylor. hahah ;)
If Ouma... by some chance.... happens to make Taylor look bad...
... or if Ouma keeps getting up... Kassim is going to steal the show, IMO. :D

Re: Just another one of Wacko's Drunken Round by Rounds : Taylor vs Ouma
-
Re: Just another one of Wacko's Drunken Round by Rounds : Taylor vs Ouma
That would be funny if Taylor won by controversial decision. :D Or even worse, draw.
-
Re: Just another one of Wacko's Drunken Round by Rounds : Taylor vs Ouma
a win for taylor by decision. he should easily win this one
-
Re: Just another one of Wacko's Drunken Round by Rounds : Taylor vs Ouma
If Ouma was a more natural middleweight I'd give him a good shot at winning this, volume is the wy to beat taylor, mixed with enough strength to push him back. Unfortunatly for Ouma, he's way too small, so I say Taylor KO 8.
-
Re: Just another one of Wacko's Drunken Round by Rounds : Taylor vs Ouma
Ouma chin has been a problem in his last couple of fights. It will be again. Taylor by TKO. Around the 7th round. Ouma will put up a good fight though
-
Re: Just another one of Wacko's Drunken Round by Rounds : Taylor vs Ouma
how come theres no KO option here??????
would if JT actually lives up to his name of bad intentions for once?

KO, TKO. Pretty much means the same S***
not in my eyes man. a REAL KO is more mad props to me bro
that usually means a way more powerful puncher.
where tko's could mean anything from the REF waiving it off cuz he has to go take a dump so hes ending it early LOL

i dont know man, fly on a horse is a little bit of a stretch dont u think? Yes Ouma is a lot smaller and I am predicting a JT victory, but Kassim has mad heart and doesnt stop punching...what is that WWF slogan...ruthless aggression? Guy has that; anyone with that kind of heart and aggression you have to watch out for. I really think he can hit harder than what you described in your entry. I want to see the underdog pull it off here and i think Kassim Ouma has a good chance of pulling out the upset. I have questioned JT's heart before like in the 12th round of the Winky Wright fight (basically doing nothing) and the last round of the first Bernard Hopkins fight (turning away from Hopkins while backed against the ropes and not punching back). That fight I thought should have been a draw or a SD to B-Hop. Either way, if he pulls this against Ouma, without racking up a huge lead first, he could be in trouble. Do I think Ouma can KO him? Probably not, but that doesnt mean he won't stop him if JT stops punching back late like he has made a pattern of. Another thing is that JT is way overlooking and underestimating Kassim Ouma's defensive abilities. Yes he is an offensive fighter but to say that he has no defense is just plain stupid. He's a professional fighter and a world champion. He knows how to defend himself or he wouldnt be where he is. I'm rooting for K.Ouma and the upset but common sense says the bigger taller man will box from the outside to a UD or SD victory.

If Ouma can keep up his standard barrage then he'll take Taylor to 12...& what would that say for Taylor?
We all know that Ouma's got heart & can keep up the pace...but he's going to be heavier this go around...& not established at the weight.
I think that Taylor stops him...but an upset would be interesting...especially a hometownish upset...thing is...Ouma's gonna really REALLY have to make Taylor look bad to win a decision...either that or TKO him...& I don't believe that Ouma's capable of doing such to Talor.

Re: Just another one of Wacko's Drunken Round by Rounds : Taylor vs Ouma
Taylor has proven that he is a true champ and has not ducked anyone & is willing to fight anyone, now that is very rare nowadays in boxing! He also is seriously thinking about going up in weight to fight Joe Calzaghe & for all of you who think that Taylor will be as easy as Lacy then think again, night & day! Look at there styles & skills!
-
Re: Just another one of Wacko's Drunken Round by Rounds : Taylor vs Ouma
This fight with Ouma is a huge mismatch & everytime people thought & said that Taylor couldn't do it and he actually did it & keeps doing it!

Re: Just another one of Wacko's Drunken Round by Rounds : Taylor vs Ouma
I voted Ouma by Decision. I'm callin it this time, so IF I'm right and Ouma pulls it off, GIVE ME MY FUKIN CREDIT THIS TIME!!! Don't just pretend like it didn't happen, like when I predicted B-hop to beat Tarver when everyone else virtually was pickin Tarver to win. Here's why after careful deliberation I am pickin Ouma:
Ouma applies constant pressure, is a great volumne puncher and NEVER gets tired. Taylor is a good fighter, a much bigger fighter, but he got the belt given to him, and shoulda lost to Wright, much as I despise fukin Wright. Also Taylor does NOT respond well to pressure at all, just look at the rounds he lost against Wright, it was cus he was pressured. Taylor gets tired late in fights too, Ouma don't. Finally, about Taylor KO'n Ouma easily, at first I thought so too, BUT Taylor could not KO Freddy Cuevas, who by the way Ouma did knock out, and he couldn't freakin knock out the contender winner Grady Brewer. So he may very well KO Ouma, but it is not a foregone conclusion by any means. Ouma has great heart, and I am yet to see him KO'd, I know he has been stopped way back when, but I haven't seen it. So I see Ouma outworkin Taylor en route to a well deserved UD. Don't know if he'll get it though from those bitch judges, God knows they LOVE Taylor. >:mad

I've been saying almost the same things since the fight unvailed..... Except for the "GIVE ME MY FUKIN CREDIT THIS TIME!!!" part ;D
I too voted and have said that I don't think JT will be able to decode/find something to be able to nuetralize Oumas volume punching....
IMO, Ouma has to start off his volume punching from 1 second in to the fight and just keep throwing the way he normally does....
And yeah! and Ouma please stay off the ganja.... ;) :o

CC to you then. We shall both recieve credit for this one, if Ouma pulls it off then. Hopefully any way. And I totally agree with ya man, Ouma better put pressure on Taylor's ass right away, not let him breathe. Cus if Ouma stays on the outside for even 2 rounds or more, and lets Taylor get off those straight punches, he will be KO'd IMO. He must get on the inside and stay there. It's a tuff way to fight, but its the only way Ouma knows how to fight, so I believe in him. LETS GO OUMA! END THIS FUKIN HBO HYPE MACHINE ONCE AND FOR ALL!!!!

Re: Just another one of Wacko's Drunken Round by Rounds : Taylor vs Ouma
I don't like this fight. Ouma is barely a natural 154 pounder. And he can't win a decision in Arkansas.
I'm going to be so scared because I'm an Ouma fan :'( I want him to do well but I don't want to see him beaten badly :'(
-
Re: Just another one of Wacko's Drunken Round by Rounds : Taylor vs Ouma
Mick and Hulk, dude's,I think you guys are way off so if you get this right,I'll give you LOADS of credit becausE I don't see anyway of Ouma winning. PLus,JT must have improved in the time from the Wright fight,he's been training with Manny Steward right?

You have valid points against Taylor, but Ouma wasnt known as power puncher at 154 so I seriously doubt he will some how have more that much more power at 154. So you think Ouma has a better defense that Winky? Taylor has been in with two of best defensive fighters (Bhop and Winky), I dont think Ouma's defense is going to bother Taylor a lot, and if I remember right he had a good showing against both fighters. Regardless if you think he won or lost those fights, he looked better than most people do against thsoe two.

CC TYBUFF,I totally agree, like JT or not,he earnt respect with his showings against those defensive wizards and regardless of wether you thought JT won or not,he gave them both tough fights. And your points on Ouma are true too,he may very well be extremely busy but once JT realises he can walk through Ouma's shots,Ouma is in trouble. Good post bro.
