Carl Froch-Jeff Lacy

more and more this match-up is starting to make sense. Froch is dangerous and i feel that he really would be able to win this fight. Im really not to sure about Lacy now. At one stage after the Reid fight i thought he was indestuctable, but now he is starting to wear away. A win for Lacy would surely boost his carrer for taking out the highly rated Froch. But if froch worked hard i think he is more than capable of hurting Lacy and really driving him to the limits. Im not to sure where this match up would take place. Lacy wouldnt come over to England and im not to sure Froch would go there im not sure but i would like to see this fight happen

I'd like to see Lacy step-up to Froch, but Lacy has some serious work to do, he has to heal his shoulder, get his confidence back and definately needs to come up with a plan B, While I can respect him fighting with an injury, it also showed he is unable to adjust.

i agree with the end part about the uppercut but i really aint sure Froch would go hunting for him. He aint been to the US a lot ( i can only remember he going there once) he wouldnt risk gettin rapped by the judges....but im not sure on what froch would feel on this one. Im pretty sure Froch would take the fight if it was in England.

He has already stated he'll fight anywhere but talk is cheap i guess..

cc for the vid and info smashup.....i wasnt sure he was so keen for an abroad fight. Realistically i can see Froch fighting next for the Euro title. the commonwealth and Britsh title aint gona do him any favours. He is also gettin old which he will also have to think about. But a shot at the vacant IBF belt is something i think he should deserve. Fighters should also take on board if they fight and beat Froch its a very satisfying win!

Froch is there now and he aint leaving for the momment. froch is perfroming every fight he is an outstanding fighter and with the training of robert mccracken he is going places. At the end of the day froch is in for a shoat of a title shot and somebody like Lacy would help him get there. As for saying he never will come on he is ranked by most main rankings in the top 10 and if you look at them froch has a good chance of beating them.

He KO'd a very game Brian Magee, whilst his thumb was clean-snapped off and rattling round in his glove from round 1...

He fought a slippery mathew barney with a ruptured extensor hood, because the Tv date was in place...

Around 5 years ago he won an amatuer competion in Copenhagen and has been several times - so no pressure in that sense.

Even a scatty Calzaghe would get taste some canvas - this kid is heading places.

Imagine i posted this shortly before the JC fight every1 would be saying the opposite thing. I do rate Froch and i do feel his time for a title shot is sooner rather than later. All he needs to do is keep performing and it should surely come. I also dont think Lacy is bad either i do still rate him in the top 10 but not as high as he use to be. He will get back in there eventually (when kessler and JC have gone :P)

CC bro.....here's the hip 100! Lacy is not that good a fighter, he just devastated some of the fighters that were well rated in the SMW division before they stumbled across his left hook, and huge shots, which he undoubtedly has. If his rotator cuff or whatever it is hadbeen in full working order, then I'm sure he would have stopped Tsypko.

However, in the drubbing he received against Calzaghe, was the key to how to beat him, and from now on, every fighter that gets a shot against him will be following that blueprint of swift stinging shots, and most of all, avoiding the Lacy bombs. Anyhow, as for Froch v Lacy, I imagine that Froch's workrate isn't up there with Calzaghe, but his movement and elusiveness is very good. If he can avoid getting trapped in the corners by Lacy, and work the side to side movement like Calzaghe, then I imagine another easy points win. Tsypko showed Lacy up as one-dimensional, with only big shots in Lacy's repertoire IMO, and I don't see that Lacy's star can do anything but wane now.

Personally, I don't reckon Lacy would be a good enough fight for Froch, whose star is certainly waxing in the SMW sky, and needs to be fighting contenders for the divisions crown, not the former contender/champs.

I highlited the key words imo.. The guy hasn't proved squat, and his defence is absolutely terrible. I would have a hard time envisioning any way he could beat Kessler and unlike you I have no reason to be so incredibly biased. I think Lucian Bute is a way better prospect and there were rumours of this fight happening, I really hope it comes off.

The difference between Froch and Bute is that Froch is a mediocre fighter who makes a lot of noice, whereas Bute is an excellent fighter who goes about his buisiness and leaves the shit-talk to others.

Froch MAY try. And that's the one thing i'll give him credit for IF it happens. As long as it's just talk out of Froch's mouth, it's most likely BS. As for Froch's chances, they are minimal.

I've not seen Bute fight, so I am very much open to correction, but as far as I'm concerned, the only way to beat Froch would be to go at him and swamp him with an all action style. When he is given space he is accurate and his punches are vicious, and his hooks and uppercuts are among the hardest in the division. He is not to be underestimated is what I'm saying. Bring on some proper opposition, and we shall see where he really is, but then again that is applicable to most of the up and comers in the SMW.

mate i would be worring if i was up coming against Froch. Are you trying to say he is crap or summit? yer i do agree with you about it being a risk for Froch as well. But can you really see Bute coming to England or him going to Germany to fight him? its all about bottle mate and i cant see either one going for it. A fight in America could maybe be on the cards im not sure. But i fancie Froch winning it :P

Bute throws a lot of punches, and he's got good handspeed, better than Froch's. Maybe not as good one punch power as Froch, but he's got solid power and because he throws a lot he gets a lot of stoppages. Defense is not bad for a guy that's an offensive fighter, skilled fighter overall. I think he'd beat Froch, who's just too easy too hit. Bute's fought pretty good opposition for a guy with less than twenty fights, but its still a bit hard to tell if he's got a real good chin, he's pretty much dominated the fights I've seen him in. Not saying its impossible that Froch could catch him with something big and stop him, but from what I've seen of the two, and I've seen four of Froch's fights, Bute is IMO clearly the better fighter so I'd definitely pick him if it happened.

He looks alright there.

But I really don't expect Lacy to bull forward with his head without even throwing a jab(unless he hurts his shoulder again)
