Just another RBR - Harrison v Williams, Khan v some random french chap
Evnin all,
Another day another possibly dreadful twelve rounder between two mediocre British heavyweights. But hell, they're the best we got so I can't complain too much.
Danny "Mr Kipling" Williams - (36-5-0; 29 KOs) The big puncher who made his name, and his career almost solely in a 4th round KO of an ageing Mike Tyson, and a brave 8 rounds against Vitali Klitschko before he was finished in the 8th. More recently his weight problems have been some of the more significant and interesting aspects, with a first snoozer against Audley, and a more recent snoozer against Matt Skelton in June. The first war with Skelton was however very entertaining, so there is hope, despite the pedigree of this fight to be another dreary 12.
Audley "Parcel Force" Harrison - (20-2-0; 15 KOs) - The much heralded Olympic super-heavyweight champion was hailed as a great hope in some quarters after his Olympic success, but what ensued as Harrison refused to sign up with a big manager left him building a career beating bums across Britain, before claiming a nothing WBF belt against an undefeatet Richel Dersisia, who equally had no names whatsoever on his record. Then came two defeats on the trot, as Harrison finally met some proper opposition in a snoozer v Danny Williams, and then a dreary defeat against former prospect Dominic Guinn. Since then he beat American no-hoper Andrew Greeley.
As far as I can see, this is a must win fight for both of these guys if they wish to have any aspirations beyond British title glory. Audley is in another put-up or shut-up fight, and defeat here would condemn him to either retirement or a lifetime of purgatory battling bums in fairs across the minority boxing states of America. As for Danny, demand for a third fight against Skelton might be slightly boosted if he wins, and if he doesn't he is still mandatory for undefeated British champ Scott Gammer in a possible February bout.

Re: Just another RBR - Harrison v Williams, Khan v some random french chap
I'm actually really looking forward to tonights boxing.
Even though the last fight was terrible I can only remember the last two rounds now and remember it being really entertaining in a kind of 'Oh my god, I can't believe they are so dire, kind of way' :o
I reckon it will be an entertaining fight. I'm hoping Amir gets stretched a bit tonight. If he's forced to go 10 rounds that would be ideal. It's also worth mentioning that this will be his first fight at light welter so an interesting fight for me.
The disappoinment here though is that if he moves to welterweight we will probably never see him in the ring with Kevin Mitchell, Ricky Burns, Carl Johannasson, maybe not even Graham Earl or John Thaxton and I was looking forward to some of those fights.
I'm guessing that a couple years down the road he will be challenging Junior Witter if he still has his belt.....

The clown who interviewed Frank didnt chose his words too well did he? "Your head doesnt know what it thinks" ;D
Bruno was clearly a bit baffled by that.
Ive got Audley to TKO an exhausted Williams late in the fight.

Re: Just another RBR - Harrison v Williams, Khan v some random french chap
Okay, so the Audience with Lionel Richie, which was on TV before the big fight has drawn to a close with some absolutely cracking songs, and I'm perched on the couch of my mates house with a strange tangle of wires, cables anda bottle of pop next to me. I hope you're right bilbo, this could possibly be a good one, beelzebub's promotion with 'Last Chance Saloon' could be a masterstroke, as that is exactly what it is.
Manfredo is at ringside, he needs a slap that man, and Joe C will deliver numerous slaps ;) Lets rumble! Sorry bro, my mate doesn't have digital, so i'm just checking in now. How was the earlier fight?

He also had a runny nose, which could stem from partaking in some culumbian marching powder before hand as he is sometimes acustomed to ?
I also think your on with the result, people are saying Danny is fit because he has lost weight, he doesnt have any stomach deffinition, a person who doesnt excercise doesnt have as big a hunger, they dont feel the need to fuel their tired muscles with calories

Re: Just another RBR - Harrison v Williams, Khan v some random french chap
They've given this one heck of a build-up 15 minutes of pre-fight hype and films. Maybe they assume that Danny will get a uquick KO. Audley not getting a good reception, a chorus of boos greet him, and maybe the hood on his robe might cover his ears from his own unpopularity. He looks a little nervous, trying to talk the talk, but he needs to show some balls tonight if he ever wants to fight again.
Danny getting the crowd's welcome. He looks calm and focussed, and despite what the bookies say, I am going to have to go with Williams for this one, he's back at 19 stone, and he really doesn't like Harrison. I have sacrificed a pig asking that this not be another boring cagey fight, and I dont' think it will!

Re: Just another RBR - Harrison v Williams, Khan v some random french chap
Williams is cracking me up just sitting there ;D
-
Re: Just another RBR - Harrison v Williams, Khan v some random french chap
Ref said "Behave yourselves, do as your told."
Round 1
Audley sends a straight through th guard. Catches Williams with an uppercut. Good left rocks Williams back, he looks motivated. Audley hits again with an uppercut. Danny throwing nothing, looks to wrestle Harison. Audley's jabs are still a little pawing. Good straight right again from Harrison. Lots of hugging again. Williams hooks to the body in the clinch. Williams looks a little lethargic.
Harrison 10-9

Re: Just another RBR - Harrison v Williams, Khan v some random french chap
Danny's never fiy, a cut on the nose though.
Round 2:
Harrison slips, and as Williams looked to hit him, Harrison has a little whinge. Williams keeping his guard high. Bit of a wrestle, and Williams grinding his head. The ref already having a tough time. Nice uppercut by Harrison. The ref is having a look at the cut on Williams. DEanny wants to go on, they're back at it. Williams is rocked by uppercuts and straight rights. Williams swings wildly. Good body shots from Harrison. Williams comes back with big hooks to the body, Harrison tying up, roughhouse tactics. Straight left from Harrison, this is a cracker!
Harrison again, 20-18

I owe you a cool click in 24 hours, Heavy
What's up Lord's!
-
Re: Just another RBR - Harrison v Williams, Khan v some random french chap
Williams cut under the eye, and nose.
Round 3:
Good left uppercut again. Williams with body shots and hooks to th head. Harrison comes back with an uppercut. Williams warned for leading with his forehead. Good uppercut and straight from HaRRISON. Another uppercut as Williams comes forward. Williams with an uppercut on the ropes. They're both using their heds. Massive uppercut from Harrison, Williams stumbles to his knees. Big uppercut and a straight left. Ref steps in, Williams is stopped 2:31 into Rd3.
Harrison finally looked impressive, destroyed Williams.

Yup got to agree that that was one of the hardest beatings that Williams has had. I'm a bit disappointed that Audley's being booed, he finally delivered.

Tounge in cheek I hope that that comment was made Memphis, beating a Danny Williams who had two weeks to prepare does not mean that he will unify the heavyweight division.....
-
Re: Just another RBR - Harrison v Williams, Khan v some random french chap
Looked heavy handed tonight though 8)
His left uppercut is a killer punch ;)
Still looked slow to be honest
-
Re: Just another RBR - Harrison v Williams, Khan v some random french chap
After seeing Williams act like a c*nt at the weigh in I like Audley and want him to do well, he still is very nervous looking when punches come his way though
-
Re: Just another RBR - Harrison v Williams, Khan v some random french chap
"I knew I had the performance tonight. Every fight I've had that I have won I have put it in, hopefully now the public will get behind me hopefully that the critics will leave me alone and let me focus on my ambition of being heavyweight champion. I've paid the price tonight and I have been given the reward.
A lot of people have used a lot of slanderous words at me, a lot of people have used a lot of bad words about me, and I was in the right place mentally and spiritually tonight. Today I brought my endgame. I have no hard feelings towards Danny at all."
Jim Rosenthal is blowing smoke up his arse though, I believe he'll need a tissue to wipe his nose.
"2007 I'll be world champion, 2008 I'll be undisputed."
Excuse me, I'm just going to have a little chuckle at that last bit.
-
Re: Just another RBR - Harrison v Williams, Khan v some random french chap
Audley wasnt there spiritually emotionally and mentally last time. He should remind us of that.
-
Re: Just another RBR - Harrison v Williams, Khan v some random french chap
hahaha
He does have the tools though imo.
BTW who threw a tomato at Williams face ???
-
Re: Just another RBR - Harrison v Williams, Khan v some random french chap
I'm so glad I switched my pick from Williams to Harrison yesterday evening...
I never thought it end like this.
-
Re: Just another RBR - Harrison v Williams, Khan v some random french chap
Morris v Simpson
With the news coming in 15 minutes, £5 says thisdoesn't go the \distance. Simpson doing alright with hooks, but equally Morris throwing some good hard straights and jabs. Morris the more accurate. Good jab and hook from Simpson.
Pretty even first.
-
Re: Just another RBR - Harrison v Williams, Khan v some random french chap
Round 2
Morris's hooks are prett good, straights in reply from Simpson. Good hook again from Morris, good few to the body. Morris' hooks are bringing him to the ascendancy, Simpson looking a little hurt by all the shots to the ribs, but pops to the head to keep Simpson honest. Pretty one-sided second round.
-
Re: Just another RBR - Harrison v Williams, Khan v some random french chap
what time do we think khan will be on then >?
-
Re: Just another RBR - Harrison v Williams, Khan v some random french chap
Went to make a brew, so round 3 passed by.
Good start to Round 4 by Morris, still throwing combos to the body. Simpson looking to hit the ribs of Morris hard with hooks. Morris a little wilder now. Good uppercut and right hook from Simpson. Good straight right stuns Simpson. Mrris cut above the right eye. Simpson showing plenty so far, that cut looks very deep, caused by a strong straight right.
Khan should be on in about 15-20 minutes, we have the news coming first.
-
Re: Just another RBR - Harrison v Williams, Khan v some random french chap
Round 5:
Morris looking to finish it, wild hooks. Calms a little, good body shot. Simpson throws a jab and a straight right. Two good hooks by Morris. Good hooks and straights from Simpson. Morris catches him with hooks and a straight right to the face. Nice left from Simpson.
Ref stops it on that deep cut. Simpson is delighted, but got to feel for Morris, it was a good shot from Simpson, but he was behind in my mind.

Re: Just another RBR - Harrison v Williams, Khan v some random french chap
Are they all using the new "Kruger" gloves tonight or what ;D
-
Re: Just another RBR - Harrison v Williams, Khan v some random french chap
good work mate CC i knew Harrison would come to fight because of the no "0" to lose this time really but i had him winning on points never thought he would KO williams think you'd have got about 100/1 for picking that round sadly i didnt hahaha...
this lean version looked great lets hope this new version can dedicate his time training rather than spending his money and telling everyone how good hes gonna be ;)
time will tell but this focused fit version of harrison has the good to go all the way IMO ;)

Re: Just another RBR - Harrison v Williams, Khan v some random french chap
The tools are there and always have been.
Could we have a future World champ bubbling under at last.? 8)

Reckon they'll give Amir Khan some, or his he too young for that kind of responsibility. Guess he'll just have to throw a lot of medium power punches and swamp the opposition again. We're about to get under way on this one, so look lively, Amir might well get himself something to prop under the cooker to level it out on the rough floor of his mum's Bolton house.

Calm down calm down. Personally he's still got plenty to prove. He has to look impressive and keep busy next year to really warrant any sort of title shot.

Re: Just another RBR - Harrison v Williams, Khan v some random french chap
C'mon Amir 8)
HBO will be examining him tonight for sure ;)
Just as well he's in with a man with a KO record like a bum bandit ;D

I've knocked out more people down the Black Lion on a Friday night than this guy, and considering I hardly ever get in fights before being barely able to stand...that's saying summat. I take my cues from Scott Harrison in that respect.
-
Re: Just another RBR - Harrison v Williams, Khan v some random french chap
here he comes but he seems to have misplaced his white flag ;D
-
Re: Just another RBR - Harrison v Williams, Khan v some random french chap
According to Jim Rosenthal Danny Williams' nose was broken in that fight earlier, we'll bring some quotes for you later. Rachid Drilzane is looking pretty nervous, as he hides under his hippy hat. One group of fans there for him, but most people will be thinking a Khan win, I don't think Fwank would have put anyone decent in there with Amir yet. IBF Intercontinental title....plenty of great names who have fought for this one right? Amir Khan gets a standing ovation, that should gee him up! Now lets rumble alraeady.
-
Re: Just another RBR - Harrison v Williams, Khan v some random french chap
hahaha
He looks like a very nice boy, hope Amir has sorted his music out!
Pah!! Old Spice again ;D
