Shane Mosley v Luis Collazo/Kermit Cintron rumoured to be in the works
Just read on another site that this fight is being rumoured for February. Sounds like a tasty one to me.What do you guys think? I am still not sold on the whole Sugar Shane is back,2 wins over a shot Vargas don't prove that to me but if he wins this fight, then he deserves credit. I know Collazo is good,ot sure how doo though but it'll be a tough fight for both fighters. Not sure on an outcome...Mosley SD?
SHZA says he saw on boxingtalk that Shane might fight Cintron next so it's more reliable coming from the guys mouth, another interesting match but with the added factor of Kermit's banging power! Wooooo!

Should be very interesting. Carn't decide who i think will win. If Collazo wins, Hatton's stock should rise, especially if he beats Urangatang

Re: Shane Mosley v Luis Collazo rumoured to be in the works
EXCELLENT! Really tasty matchup, I'm not gonna make a prediction fully in case of looking sill but my money wouldn't be on shane.
-
Re: Shane Mosley v Luis Collazo rumoured to be in the works
My moneys on shane.
I think collazo is a classy fighter and very underrated, but i wa quite impressed with shanes last outing. He has still got great hand speed and Collazo wudn't have the bigger man advantage like he had with hatton + he cant punch for shit, he would have to land a tonne of punches on mosley like he did to hatton to shake him,
Id say Mosley taking it by a few rounds, but very close

Re: Shane Mosley v Luis Collazo rumoured to be in the works
Wow. Definitely one of those interesting matchups. And more importantly a good welterweight from this new generation of welters versus a great welterweight from the older generation of welters. I hope it happens. It would be a toss up for me.

Re: Shane Mosley v Luis Collazo rumoured to be in the works
I think that the handspeed, defence, strength and stamina all added together could be enough to cause the upset, down the stretch anyway.

At least the handspeed and strength both seriously favor Shane though. ???

Re: Shane Mosley v Luis Collazo rumoured to be in the works
Mosley late TKO, Collazo is going to get schooled, I'd put money on it.
Collazo brings nothing to the table that Mosley can't handle, even at this age.

Agreed. Mosely's clearly past his prime, but Collazo is nothing more than a decent fighter.
-
Re: Shane Mosley v Luis Collazo rumoured to be in the works
strange choice of opponent 4 Shane, I'd see Collazo giving Mosley problems like
Forrest and Winky did, still Mosley should pull through MD/SD as Collazo's doesn't look as
good as the other 2, should be a good one though!
-
Re: Shane Mosley v Luis Collazo rumoured to be in the works
I think its a good fight. I think fairly highly of Collazo, but Mosley would have to be the favorite.
-
Re: Shane Mosley v Luis Collazo rumoured to be in the works
Just got a word from Collazo, said it's going to be on February 10.

Re: Shane Mosley v Luis Collazo rumoured to be in the works
luis collazo is a pretty good fighter that made an incredibly overrated fighter look bad, and now people are saying hes the biggest secret in the welterweight division
shane mosely (although he is not nearly the fighter he once was not too long ago) will take this guy to school and put on a boxing clinic en route to a late round tko (shane probably wins every round of this fight) and after hatton sees what a quality fighter can do at 147, he never again dares to leave the 140 pound division ;)
let the sad clkicks roll in

Not from me. :coolclick: I agree completely.

Re: Shane Mosley v Luis Collazo rumoured to be in the works
Plain and Simple Mosley by TKO in the 6
-
Re: Shane Mosley v Luis Collazo rumoured to be in the works
Well Shane deserves credit for taking this fight but I don't think it'll be easy. It will be a good indicator of how good Shane will be at 147 though so I'd like to see it!!!

Re: Shane Mosley v Luis Collazo rumoured to be in the works
Shane says in a boxingtalk interview today that he's pretty sure that Cintron is next. Collazo is a remote possibility, but he sounded pretty sure it would be Cintron next.
-
Re: Shane Mosley v Luis Collazo rumoured to be in the works
Tihs is a good match up and Collazo i think will show he is a really good fighter in a loosing battle.
Because i just think to give Hatton such problems he cant be bad , maybe just lacking power.

OOOOOOOHHHHH!!! Now that would be another good fight!! Shane doesn't know what he wants though, the last time he spoke on boxingtalk,he said he might stay at 154 then later in the interview,he said Cotto was a possibility. I like Shane but I'll be rooting for Kermit so it makes Tonys win look even better ;D ^-^
Thanks for the heads up bro!

No problem. I haven't seen Cintron fight. Seems like a very strange choice given that Margarito beat him fairly recently--did Cintron look especially bad in that fight or something? I think Shane could definitely beat Margarito (though I am with you a bit on not knowing what to really take from the Vargas fights), so I don't know why he's dicking around with Margarito's leftovers. I guess there's the Arum/Golden Boy problem preventing the big fights between Shane and Margarito or Cotto though.... That's a shame.

This is a really sad post. I can't think of a worse case of being a fan boy.

A sad post? Not really,I just want Tony to get the credit he desrves for dismantling a power punching machine who was made out to be a bum after losing to Tony.

Yeah,I don't think we'll see Golden Boy fighters taking on Arum fighters which is a shame but beating Cintron would give him a title. I don't think Shane can beat Tony at 147 and even if he did,it would not be easy,no way. The amount of pressure Margarito would apply,Shane's never faced that much pressure for a while. It's not really Tony's left overs simply because Cintron is going to be a big name at 147. He looked good in his last match and Suarez, used good movement and alot more jabs too to set up his power shots.

I'm not very comfortable judging one boxers value based on what another boxer does with the same opponent. Maybe you could get something out of it if the fighters you are comparing have similar styles but that is not the case here. If Cintron knocked Mosley out all you could tell about Tony would be that he has a good chin. The thing that was sad about the post was I think you know better than that and can see Tony and Mosley have different enough styles that whatever the result between Cintron and Mosley won't say much of anything about Tony. I think many people are put off from Margarito by his fans using twisted logic that in this case is starting to look like 6 degrees of seperation, and other times is taking statement for fact.

Re: Shane Mosley v Luis Collazo/Kermit Cintron rumoured to be in the works
Either one of them is a great fight, Mosley deserves credit going after up and comers rather than big names going over the hill. Fresh thinking!

Ok I see where you are coming from but it's just the logic of the mind. I know if A beats B it does not mean he beats C and I don't use that logic,my point was merely Margarito did not get the credit he deserved for beating Kermit so IF Kermit beat Shane,it would put Margarito's victory into perspective. Irrespective of styles,a win over a good fighter is a win over a good fighter but Kermit was made out to be a bum after his loss to Tony, that's my point and he is far far from a bum. Also, that's a stupid point, you need more than just a good chin to defeat an opponent and it would also show Tony used good tactics for the fight thus showing him to be versatile, another advantage I think he has but is not given credit for.

Re: Shane Mosley v Luis Collazo/Kermit Cintron rumoured to be in the works
I think Mosley walks right through both Cintron and Collazo. Cintron in about 3 rounds. Collazo in about 7.
-
Re: Shane Mosley v Luis Collazo/Kermit Cintron rumoured to be in the works
If his fitness is there then Mosley still owns Welterweight! ;)
the only way to beat Shane is with excellent straight punching from the outside like Forrest, ODH(2nd) and Wright.
Cotto and Mayweather are his only threats at 147 and I think he still has enough to beat both.
-
Re: Shane Mosley v Luis Collazo/Kermit Cintron rumoured to be in the works
Dont want to see Collazo and Mosley fight honestly. Collazo deserves a shot against Cotto and since its not gonna be Margarito. Collazo vs. Cotto is a good fight.
