sources say the Latest on MAB vs PACMAN II............

Sources say, (and of course im just paraphrasing cuz thats what the big boss man wants us to do now)

that the WBC has notified both camps of MAB the WBC super featherweight champ and Pacman the wbc #1 mandatory that free negotiations for their mandatory title defense have begun.

If no agreement is reached then the WBC will hold a purse offer on Jan 12th 2007 in Mexico City.

i say come on metrosexual primadonna and 75yr old vampire lets see past ya reality tv drama and put a GREAT fight on for us deserving fight fans! :D

PLEASE let this come off! If Pacman wins by a stoppage we are going to have to take this kid VERY seriously as a contender of topping the P4P lists. If Barrera wins, then boy that will secure his legacy as one of the greatest mexican fighters EVER!

Well,even Manny is P4P number 1 on ALOT of lists now anyway but a win over MAB would certainly cement that and like I said ealier,if MAB wins,it would be AMAZING especially taking into account Manny's beatin of Erik and the way he beat up MAB the first time. I want MAB to win really fwocking badly,I mena I love Manny but I want someone to silence the Pac fanatics! ;D :D

Barreras been my favourite for a long time so maybe Im confusing wanting with believing but I say Barrera on points, hes just got too much experience and a great record for rematches. He'll probably slow it down a lot and and just try to control Manny - wont even look for a stoppage.

Thats my school of thought bro, Barrera has been up there P4P for an age, he's probably the most adaptive, well schooled and well rounded fighter in the game today now other than possibly Bernard Hopkins. A true purists boxer, so classy, yet a true warrior and one of the nicest guys in boxing. You know him and Hatton are best of friends? Leading up to Hatton v Tszyu the Barrera camp posted a good luck message on the Hatton forum, predicting a stoppage victory.

I love MAB and can see what you are saying but Pac is not as easily frustrated as he once was,is a better overall fighter and is no Juarez. Manny WILL catch MAB somwhere and my main concern will be wether MAB has that Mexican fire in his stomach because he WILL have to go to the trenches at times. I don't think you can fight Manny Pacquiao at this stage in his career and avoid contact for the entire fight the guy is a little fricking killing machine! He now hooks,uses his right more,jabs more,counters and has slightly tighter D!!I don't think MAB look for the stoppage either and I really hope he pulls it out but I don't know!

Yeah and I'm sure Ricky was at one of his fights too! I totally agree,MAB is a class class act and a true true legend and I soooo want him to pull out the win but Manny is a monster!

I've backed Manny all the way as well, and I think he's an incredible fighter, but MAB never loses twice, second time round he's always much better. It was Barrera v Juarez II where hatton was carrying his belt, he was probably about 168lb and he was wearing a sombrero!

Exactly

He avenged the Jnr Jones dq in everyones eyes apart from the judges. He beat Morales after losing the 1st fight ( most people knew he won the 1st too . The second Juarez fight was much easier than the 1st . Now its Pacs turn . He doesnt often produce good performances twice running .

I am a huge Marco fan and I definitely think he will fight better in the rematch. However, this will be the biggest challenge he has ever faced. While i don't think Pac has improved as greatly as many people on this board claim...there is no question that he is a tremendous athlete. Strong, fast, and a full pressure style make Manny a formidable force. Barrera has a big edge in ring intelligence and technique, but he is not a young warrior who can brawl for 12 rounds. However, you never count out a master boxer who still has something left in the tank....and unlike Morales...Marco still has something left. He has paced himself in the latter part of his career (by not just being a brawler) and has never had to kill himself to make weight like Eric. Add to that, that he is as much a cerebral boxer as a physical one...and he also will be a formidable opponent for Manny. Will he have enough to upset Pac? Not sure. But if anyone thinks it will be like the third Pac/Eric fight...they are mistaken. It will be an exciting fight and i hope it happens.

This fight is looking more and more likely!!! :D

Barrera has the most difficult fight of his career on his hands and he is capable of beating Pac. There will be no looking for knockdowns on Barrera's part. Its about being evasive and stealing the rounds by picking his shots with care. Its not easy to avoid somebody as quick as Pac, but it has been done before...

I cannot wait!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i kinda want this fight to go down at STAPLES CENTER. i feel PAC's popularity and stockrise right now is so HOT right now him and the already legend status of MAB can fill the staples center up! Los Angeles being a highly Latino as well as API populated city would be a beauitful back drop setting for this one.

Yeah Larios met this apprently " new and improved " version of Manny and he went 12 and rocked Manny along the way . And who is Larios ? A washed up superbantam who cant punch and was given no hope . What was Morales ? Another washed up ex superbantam who hasnt won for a while and killed himslef to make the weight . Barrera is leagues apart from these two . Pacs not been in with a live opponent for a while and when he finally does meet someone with a pulse he'll be in for a shock

Pac can counter jabs at any angle?! That's stretching it big time. Pac still has balance issues when he comes in punching and when he backs up. He sometimes lunges forward on one leg. He also is open to getting hit big time...just a by product of the style he fights. Morales was still able to back him up in the third fight...he just no longer had the power to cause damage. So people need to come back down to earth and stop claiming Pac has great defense. Right now he is winning more on his physical ability than any "great" boxing skills so many people claim he now possesses. Don't get me wrong, his physical strength is a major weapon that is a handful for anyone....but let's not kid are selves and think Pac is a technical boxer. All this is not to say that Pac can't and wont beat Barrera. But to say Marco will be an easy opponent is ridiculous.

all i can tell you is to watch the 'grandfinale' again
notice that everytime EM threw a jab he got hit.
if hes goes to his right then jabs, he gets hit by pac with a leaning left hand jab
and when he goes to his left... he gets hit bya right hook.
im not saying pac has great defense he ignores it especially when he decides to engage
but.. to say he has ridiculous defense then your nuts.
tell me how could someone survive KO artists like MAB, EM, JMM

nobody said pac is a technical boxer. but he has the option
