Rite now....NO doubt about it Winky at least decisions him if not stops him.
In there primes, it aint as easy as some people think. OK OK i consider Jones the better boxer but alot of people underestimate how hard it is to figure Winky Wright out. Jones Decision though, eventually he would get through his water tight defence.

Rjj... Winky's style is too text book and made for Roy's style, Roy is too powerful.... but basically it comes down to styles... paper,scissors, stones and RJJ would get it.
Just like he'd still beat Woods.. .despite RJJ being on the slide and Clinton getting better and better... the style are clashing.

If the fight happened in 6 months at 175 I'd still say Roy is to fast and Strong for Winky even with his apparent slide.. 175 is probably a bit to much for Wright... No way Winky stops Roy EVER especially now, Winky hasn't had a KO in quite a few years

Winky is tricky and awkward, but Jones was legendary fast and I think he would have outpointed Winky or even knocked him out. Winky was underrated before, now he is overrated. That happens.

OK Obviously a fight thats not gonna happen but what if they fought now at super middle? Winky would be going up from middle with Jones coming down from light heavy. Id still give it to Wright by decision but wouldnt be an easy fight. Jones clearly isnt the fighter he once was but hes not completely shot yet and I'd see his power troubling Winky at the higher weight.

I think WInky could beat him even now... Roy would is too fast and big for him... Anyways Roy in his prime would hit any version of Winky about 3 times as much as anyone he has ever faced, and though I have no idea if Roy could knock out WInky, if anyone at middleweight could it would be him. I see him winning most arounds, and his footwork, reflexes, power giving Winky fits.

I would also like to add his angles, and unorthodox punches... think Soliman taking whatever Shredder from TMNT 2 took to become super Shredder and thats the difference between him and RJJ.

He is in my opinion third in the p4p listings atm ..
the top two are tied in a different level of circumstance and promise...
If there were more great fighters at middleweight like there is at superfeather.. and welter/soon to be light middle... I have no doubt that winky would fight them and beat the better part if not all of them..
But ' that smaller guy' bieng ike im guessing... is a great fighter, he came to fight and it was a good fight what can i say... he won, and legitamately...
Winky is up there for who he has fought and beat.. and for the fact that he has proven to not duck anybody and is nothing short of a stylistic nightmare!!

Interesting fight.
I think RJJ can make 168 as well as Winky. Might edge RJJ do for the fact of experience. Winky is no Ko artist so that could give Roy the confidence of fight his style without the fear of getting hurt again

As much as i would like to say RJJ runs away with it, i really cant be so sure.
I mean, it all comes down to effectiveness and activity.
Roy has the footwork, hand-speed & power advantages to put his plan in action but Winkys defenece would make RJJ's attacks look ineffective for large portions of the fight.
I say large portions but Roy dosen't really throw the sort of numbers Winky can.
Also, apart from his fleety foot-work, Roy has no defence. So with Winky pressing in the unique way that he does, its a fair comment to say that he'd continuously be in scoring range while not actually walking onto anything.... Worse still he could even make Roy look negative, reduce his numbers or make him fight at an uncomfortable pace and tire him out.
With that said, it could be obvious to some just how much im overlooking Roy's talents here. Thats only because its easy to assume Roy would dominate given his naturally superior physical attributes and abilities.
But attributes aside... Its styles... and skills that makes fights.
Despite what ive just said, im gonna go with Roy via UD but if they had ever met at 160 and Winky had won, i wouldnt of been suprised.

He loves Winky Wright, he doesn't seem to realise that he is a fairly small man yet he always throws his name out with super Middle weights and light heavys.
One of his traights... which fighter from 147-170 beats this fighter from 147 to 170. (they cannot be in the same weight class... ;))

when Taylor actualy worked, winky looked like he was on his way to a loss. Now think of RJJ, stronger, faster and slyer than taylor, not to manetion roy would be working every second of every round, i really don think winky would or could go the distance with Roy.

It's tough to say with RJJ speed and reflexes on a decline. Winky seems to be at or just passing the peak of his career. I still think RJJ is too quick for Winky. Winky would probably block most of them, but RJJ would win on points from being the busier fighter.

I agree with you Mr. spine_buster. Awesome reflexes is part of Roy Jones Jr.'s defense. Or should I say it is his defense at all. It just happened that he has is own style of defense by avoiding punches same way as Winky Wright blocking punches while standing still in front of his opponent. It was effective for him for more than a decade. He was very confident with that flashy and flamboyant style thats why he earned a lot of fans. Then there came Antonio Tarver and his left cross that ended RJJ's career. He clearly lost his confidence on his style that's why he lost to Glen Johnson. But for me he has a great defense because he was depending on his reflexes.
And regarding on who shall win when RJJ and Winky fight... I have to go with Winky even if Im a Roy Jones fan. Winky is just the master of spoiling his opponents night by frustrating them. He has proven that he can overwhelm offensive juggernauts such as Mosley and Trinidad. But I dont think he has the power to knockout Roy. Remember RJJ has fought legit heavyweights before his chin was cracked by Tarver. So i think Winky will win by UD as usual but Roy would have his moments too.
