Re: views on a hatton castillo next year
lookin forward to this one next year as long as both get thru there next opponents. im a big fan of both fighters. would have hatton edging this one just tho. expecting a great war between these two warriors nevertheless
-
Re: views on a hatton castillo next year
A war!
Hatton always gives his fans 100% and castillo is one hell of a fighter who likes a tear up.
I think this fight could be something very special.

Re: views on a hatton castillo next year
Castillo by 5th round knock out
-
Re: views on a hatton castillo next year
Tszyu couldn't knock him out so i doubt Castillo will....especially not in the 5th.
-
Re: views on a hatton castillo next year
I've posted quite a few long winded analysi (I think thats the right term ;) ) but to cut a long story short, most things Castillo can do, Hatton can do better, stronger, faster, bigger, more powerful, more varied, and higher workrate, weigh-ins never an issue.

Re: views on a hatton castillo next year
LMAO@Killer and VD. I already have a 10 CC bet with VD,you want to join in Killer, but we can have our usual sig bet instead?
I basically agree with yOItsdan,Hatton is younger, stronger, faster etc plus how will JLC'spower carry and at 31,pro for15/15 years, surely time will catch up to JLC? I mean those wars with Corrales were like 10 fights in 1 night! I just don't see how he will beat Hatton and Hatton is alot rougher too. 1 thing that will be intriguing is how Hatton will respond IF JLC goes to his body consistently,no one has used body attacks against Hatton really have they?

Thats true, but those only because Hatton always gets there first! Its his bread and butter. There's definitly a few things going for Castillo though, he's smart and has a good jab, and he can deliver odd angle shots, but i very much doubt he can 'old man' Hatton,I imagine he still believes he can out gun him.
-
Re: views on a hatton castillo next year
Well it will certainly be a war but I'm pretty confident in saying Hatton will win,JLC's wars will catch up to him somewhere but I will definitely be rooting for Castillo! Don't get me wrong,JLC has alot of things going for him but I just think Hatton has more in each department.
-
Re: views on a hatton castillo next year
In his last fight, I remember him being pretty ordinary against Rolando Reyes. He looked his age for sure.

I think he was just taking it easy in that fight, that was not JLC at his best and if that is how he will perform against Hatton,he's in trouble but I think he'll rise the occassion! Aside from PBF-Oscar and Cotto-Margarito,I can't think of a fight which has been discussed for next year that I am more excited about!!

Are we just doing a straight winner bet? Castillo vs. Hatton? I am worried that Castillo won't make weight.
Also there is a very good chance EITHER fighter might be disqualified.

Hatton didn't look like no monster in his last fight. And he was facing a guy who was willing to fight. As oppose to Reyes who ran all night from Castillo
-
Re: views on a hatton castillo next year
I think we should bet that there will be a record number of low blows in this fight, because there will be.
Both fighters tend to do that and both fighters cut relatively easy.
Here's how I break it down
Both Brawlers
Both Have good chins
Both fight almost exclusively inside
Both fight dirty
Both cut relatively easy
Hatton is Faster and younger
Castillo is stronger
Hatton has had 2 tough fights (Tszyu and Collazo)
Castillo has had many tough fights (Mayweather twice, Corrales twice, Casamayor, Lazcano)
-
Re: views on a hatton castillo next year
If your thought Hatton had his skirt lifted in his last fight, wait till he faces Castillo a guy that is twice as tough and rough as him, and a guy that will fight him just as dirty as he is. Castillo is going to wreck this kids face.
-
Re: views on a hatton castillo next year
Yeah Killer,a straight Sig deal like last time. I too am worred JLC may not make the weight but here's hoping!

Agree with everything except may be about Castillo being stronger? I don't think we can say that for sure until we see him a the weight. And those tough fights may have taken their toll on JLC.

Re: views on a hatton castillo next year
hatton beats anyone at 140

well thats better for hatton then he hasnt had as many wars as castillo so he wont be as battle worn as castillo and i doubt there will be ko in this one but i see there being quite few knockdowns

that was his first time at that weight and he didnt have proper time either to get into the weight id wait and see if he fights at that weight again to see if welterweight can suit his body or light welterweight is perfect for him i see alot of people doubt hatton after close fight people forget it was his first time at that weight and he still performed well collazo was slick and boxer and fought very well in that fight

OK here is my counter-offer on the sig-bet
Clause # 1, failure to make weight (by either fighter) cancels said bet
Clause # 2 DQ of either fighter, cancels said bet
Clause # 3 A win by decision, TKO or KO wins the bet
And again I would like to use "__________ is the most brilliant poster on this forum and in fact the world"

Yeah but people still love to dismiss that. HBO had no big names in the 140 division for him to fight so he chose to fight a world champion at 147. F*ck me but does that not exuse him for a one bad performance. Collazo is a good hard fighter and he fought back like a true champion.

I can't think of a single time Hatton has thrown an intentional low blow other than after Tszyu hit him low twice, and I've seen all but 2 of his pro fights.
-
Re: views on a hatton castillo next year
If Castillo doesn't beat Hatton into silly putty...I'll be shocked.

He will be hitting JLC low BACK I like JLC but there is no doubt in my mind he will start out with the low blows.

How do you think Hatton would fare v Corrales?

He'd stop Corrales pretty easily. Corrales is just to open for such a tall fighter & it wouldn't surprise me if he stopped him on body shots.

Agreed, I have all his fights and he has never resorted to anything like that but it might make his opponents think twice after the Tszyu retaliation ;D

Thats fair, although even Corrales sank a few left hooks into Castillo, either way I hope this one comes off, it'll be what both Hatton and Castillo fans want to see!

Yeah...you see...I'm the worst person to ask about Corrales due to the fact that I don't really rate him.
I've seen him TOTALLY humiliated two too many times. Once against Castillo & then against Mayweather.
To me...he's the back seat Gatti...another fighter that I don't rate.
I just can't get into a fighter that goes to war in every round. I like to see a man think out a game plan while in the ring...tactically. Otherwise...I get bored with slugging.

Each to his own I guess but Corrales beat Casamayor,Freitas and was KTFO by an overweight JLC. I like Diego alot, power in both hands, knockout P4P type power, great heart and guts. I think he'a far more skilled than Gatti.
Corrales v Hatton would be a great fight because although Hatton would be banging to the body,Chico could use those hooks and Corrales can KO anyone 140(may be 147) and down,he is one of the hardest punchers in the game today. It would be a great fight although again,I'd slightly favour Hatton.
