That was fucking incredible.
Actually I don't know how incredible the game was overall cause I only saw the last minute and a half of regulation then overtime but that part was damn good. Saw Oklahoma score the TD to tie it and then the interception. But then the hook and ladder play by Boise, most perfectly executed version of that play I've ever seen, was great.
Was glad Boise won. Great finish.
That was insane..... Fwocken incredible.... :o
What a game, I watched the entire game...
I bet my girl friends brother 20 bucks that Oklahoma would comeback and win and he didn't bite.
He would have beat me, but he didn't take the bet.
Hey! not sure what channel you guys watched it on, but as Johnson was being interviewed the commentator towards the end of the interview asks the player
"Aren't you the proposer?"
"Aren't you gonna propose?"
He was gonna surprise his girlfriend (cheerleader) and propose to her so he stood there cause the commentator caught him by surprise... It was funny!!!! ;D
yeah man its was killer, looked like Oklahoma was gonna win it, then the tide turned on a dime then it turned back with that Peterson run,, and so on..
Texas Tech coming from behind the other night to beat Minnesota was killer ... Tech was down 35-7 at half time , Tech end up winning that bad boy in overtime 44-41.. great come from behind.. most of these bowl games were fantastic this year so far ! O0
That pitch back play was insane. I like it more then the 2 point conversion.... though that was good too.
Me too brother ! fucking loving it ! ;) Cool clicks ! Happy New years ! O0Quote:

That was surprising?
Boise's coach was just gutsy. First the hook and ladder play, then the halfback pass, then going for two to end it. Wish I had been able to watch it all, just had to do something.
great fucking game ! ;)Quote:

Then to have the gall to exercise that playbook on the 2 point conversion. Wow again.
Ian Johnson is a stud. Got a little glimpse of that in San Jose where he suffered a collapsed lung on the bottom of the pile in the 4th quarter and then ended up prolonging the game for BSU by busting a 14 yd run on a 4th down. He said he felt his lung leaking into his stomach but knew his team needed him. He came out after that play and was in ICU after the game. Haven't really checked out his NFL prospectus, but I don't see why he wouldn't be taken high. Very patient runner who reads blocks better then anyone I've ever seen at the college level. And then he's downhill so quickly. Very much like the new breed of running backs that are taking over today's game, he has a lot of Larry Johnson in him. And he's a true sophmore.
Unbelievable player. Unbeleivable team. Best game I've seen since USC - Notre Dame last year.
Props to BOTH teams. Glad Pops Peterson was able to see his son played, and I really hope Peterson goes back to OU. I like OU. But it was impossible to root against Boise tonight. Unbeleivable. Instant classic.
CC to all. Why? No real reason except that I'm glad more people got to see that game.
The USC game was pretty good too, in between it was a back and forth thing.
I think Wake Forrest will win the FedEx bowl.
Looking forward to Notre Dame - LSU Wednesday night ! That should be a real thrill ride also.. Love both teams !Quote:

I can't see them squandering this.
I'm taking Notre Dame on that one as I feel they have grown as a team and I just have a grudge feeling.Quote:

LSU, imo, is he most talented team in the nation. Back before USC lost to UCLA, I was hoping LSU would get a Rose Bowl birth. Of course it didn't exactly shake out that way but they have one of the best QB's in the nation in JaMarcus Russel. BIG receivers highlighted by Bowe, Ducet and Davis. Great defensive line and defensive backs which they have become to be known for. I mean this team is full of NFL talent.Quote:

Huge Irish fan...but I'm weary. But you certainly can't count a team out after they've had more then a month of prep work for one game.
Cool !Quote:

I see what you mean, but thats why we are here in this thread talking about Boise beating Oklahoma. ;DQuote:

I think LSU is just too talented for Notre Dame, its not about the quarterbacks, or some of the skill positions cause Notre Dame's talented there, its just overall talent. Especially on defense where LSU's much more talented.
Should be interesting though, but I'm mainly wrapped up in Alabama, my team, finding a head coach. I would have never believed Saban would have left the pros for us but its looking real possible. Which probably means he'll have a last minute change of heart and stay at Miami.
Well you got your coach...Quote:

Not to surprised though, even after he said he wasn't leaving Miami. At Michigan State he took MSU to their first major bowl game in decades, then before the bowl game he took the LSU job and opted not to coach the bowl game. Then at LSU he said he wouldn't leave. Bizarre character...wouldn't be to happy. 3 years from now when the new U of Miami coach doesn't pan out they'll call Saban and he'll split. Wouldn't be surprised anyways...
FFS that sucked. DAMMIT. I knew it was coming but it being close at the half did me no good. Dammit.
Next year...
49ers = NFC WEST CHAMPIONS
Giants = NL WEST CHAMPIONS
Notre Dame = Actually wins a fucken bowl game
Now all I have to root for is the Warriors to make the playoffs and the Sharks winning Stanley's Cup. Damn that sucked.
I'm very happy with getting Saban. Sure he might take off after 3 or 4 years but look at what he left at LSU, those are his players that beat ND tonight, at least for the most part. He can win big at Alabama, two total incompetents, Mike Dubose and Mike Shula, both had ten win seasons here, he can do much better, or at least be much more consistent.
And as far as him splitting in a few years, I'm not delusional in thinking that it definitely won't happen. But I'm cautiously optimistic that he'll be here for at least 4 or 5 years, and it could be his last job. For one thing, he's 55. Doesn't look that old but he is. Not sure if he'd wanna pack up at 60 and go somewhere else. Two, he told Mel Kiper a year ago Alabama was his dream job. He's not going back to the pros, he hated the pros, that's why he's here. So if he left it would be almost certainly for another college job, and since he can win here the only reason he would do that is if he gets bored here.
Either way, I'm happy, if you watched Alabama under Shula for 12 games a year, you would know he sucked. We won ten games last year cause of our defensive coordinator and our defense, hell Demeco Ryans, a linebacker for us last year, won Defensive rookie of the year in the NFL and Mark Anderson, also from Alabama, came in second.
I'm in Tuscaloosa now, home for the holidays, people are just going nuts, hundreds of people showed up at the airport to meet him. One lady rushed up and kissed him. Then got a DUI later in the day, had to be restrained with pepper spray. Were such rednecks. ;D
As far as ND goes, they just don't have the athletes on defense yet. In their three big games, the other teams have just looked faster. And Russel's a freak of nature. Dude just flicks it 60 yards.
Seriously. He had some rust in the fist quarter but he is an animal.
And glad to know that he's welcome in Alabama because he sure as hell has burned a lot of bridges in Louisiana and Florida.
You think that if Mike Price hadn't banged those strip club girls that Alabama would have won a national championship by now? That guy's a hell of a coach. Was kind of hoping he would get a shot at the job again this time around.
I don't know about a national championship, its hard to say, cause its just tough to go undefeated in conference now. I mean there was a time when Georgia was down, when LSU was down, but now Auburn, Florida, LSU, Georgia, there all good. Arkansas is good every once in a while and now Spurrier's at South Carolina.Quote:

As big of niners fan as I'am I don't see that happening. :(Quote:

Haha yeah. Shula wasn't ready imo. I remember the press conference. People were asking him about if he was scared about the NCAA coming down hard on Alabama and all that and he looked like that was his first time hearing about it all. I remember they were REALLY bad and then all the sudden I saw them in a new years day bowl. They REALLY went under my radar that year. Then this year they were bad again.Quote:

Him and my brother have remained friends over the years. I remember he had some sort of big play in a bowl game and the commentator went ballistic and said "MIGUEL MERRIT FROM HOPKINSVILLE, TENNESSEE!", it wasn't Tennessee, it was Kentucky. I'm pretty sure Bama lost that bowl game by missing an extra point in OT.
Come on now ! How bout dam COWBOYS ! O0
Had the 9ers beat the Cardinals and just won one other game this year...we would be in the playoffs. And that was really reasonable.Quote:

Harris has always been a good player, just commits to many damn penalties. On offense all we need is a BIG receiver (see the LSU game? I'm thinkin Duane Bowe 8) An Anquan Boldin type guy would be perfect ) Defense is a little bigger issue. We need some help in the secondary desperately. So thin there. Walt Harris had a career year and Mark Roman looked good and Keith Lewis provided some energy. Brandon Moore didn't get a single snap for the first 5 games but still managed to lead the team in tackles. Hopefully Bryant Young comes back, still an awesome player. The front line needs some work though.
Seriously, they have the pieces in place. Maybe a linebacker here or a cornerback there but we have 8 picks in the first 4 rounds of the draft including the 11th overall pick. That pick could be Damion Hughes, cornerback out of Cal. Awesome player.
I'm REALLY pumped up about next season. I expect no less then playoffs.

Actually the other day my family was in Dallas airport. Right in front of our gate was the Cowboys store so my dad went in there with a Cowboys hat on and the guy at the counter asked what he was doing in there. My dad said he was trying to make it in there without puking. The guy at the counter was laughing but the most stereotypical looking Texan you'll ever see (complete with belt buckle and 10 gallon hat) gave him the evil eye.
LMFAO ! not very bright on your dads part. we Texan's are known to stomp that ass .. :Moon: ;DQuote:

And apparently it's late at night because the Cowboys aren't even playing the Giants they're playing the Seahawks. And there's an Ali 65th birthday special on ESPN 2 that is fooken awesome. Actually one of the best Ali documentaries I've seen.
I remember Merritt. Think he was a safety?
As far as the pros, I used to never watch but I've started to lately. I need to find a team though. I like the Seahawks cause I like Shawn Alexander but I'm not sure there my team. Demeco Ryans was literally one of my favorite Alabama players of all time but its hard to see the Texans unless you go to a sports bar. That and its painful watching David Carr and their offense.
