Castillo eager to get back!
Re: Castillo eager to get back!
His stock has soared after the two PBF fights, he has become a hard nose toe to toe fighter, can't wait for the Hatton fight.
Re: Castillo eager to get back!
"All that is left now is to get down to the 140 pound limit."
The cheating bastard better not come in heavy again, I lost all respect or him after the Corrales fights.

Nobody put a gun to Corrales head. He didn't have take the fight if he didn't want to. And the weight had nothing to do with Corrales losing. Corrales came in heavy against Casamayor and still got his ass kicked. Bottom line is Corrales lost to a better fighter in Castillo.
Re: Castillo eager to get back!
What has Corrales got to do with anything? Doesnt detract from the fact that Castillo is a cheat.
Corrales punished his body to get down to 135 pounds, Castillo didnt bother, clearly one of them was going to be at an advantage come fight time. If you mearly look at the fight night weight then you dont know boxing ;)
Re: Castillo eager to get back!
Not sure of the original source but I read on the Hatton forum that Castillo has looked a bag of shit in his preperation. Paying regular visits to the canvass in sparringapparently.

I have to say this may be the only thing i have ever agreed with u on. I just think that corrales got caught by a great punch nd was unable to recover also if u want to to talk about cheating i think corrales would have been knocked out in the 1st fight if he didnt spit his mouthgaurd out twice. Although i agree it was wrong for castillo not to make weight.

Castillo has never hit the canvas in his whole career, yet he's going down regularly in sparring? Of course he is. Yeah they really know there boxing in that Hatton forum. At least your not stupid enough to embarrass yourself and the source (if there is one) by actually naming them.
By the way I hear that Ivan Calderon knocked out Ricky Hatton during there sparring session. But I don't remember the source.

The outcome of the fight makes no difference at all and I agree that Castillo is the better fighter, that doesnt change the fact that hes a blatent cheat and made no attempt at making the weight. Again he did the same thing coming into their third meeting and Corrales did call it off, shame really that couldve been good.

Castillo regularly walks around at 160 to 165. He managed to get down to 138½ for the fight. Yet he made no attempt. It's quite obvious you no nothing about boxing. And I will never acknowledge the garbage you call posts again.

He was actually making a point in his last statement that Castillo HAD tried to get down to weight.
From 165 to 138.5, not quite making 135.
Re: Castillo eager to get back!
Thats absollute bullshit. Castillo got so far and then thought fuck it. He would have been having his weight monitored like everybody else, they would have known well in advance that he was off course.

Pathetic, seriously.
Re: Castillo eager to get back!
You Memphis bro, you're one of my fave posters,a veteran here but seriously, where did you hear JLC has been going down in sparring?! If he has,I NEEED to know, because that would be a hige shock to the system!
I think it will be hard for JLC to make 140,I actually discussed this with Oumafan,Castillo was so pale, gaunt, looked as if he was at deaths door dor that Chico fight and he weighed like 139. something. Also,Arum,in the interview I posted above, has said it will be hard. I can see JLC fighting at 147 if he continues to fight after the Hatton fight,I mean he'll be 32,struggling to make weight at that age must be a HUGE strain on the body.
I'm glad he's back though,an under rated fighter.Look at his resume, littered with great names.
Re: Castillo eager to get back!
It was just something I read on the Hatton forum, Ive been back to take another look but cant find it :dontknow:
In his own way Violent Demise is right, it does sound odd given Castillo's proven durability. But it wouldnt be the first time a fighter who has previously never been down starts to get banged up in sparring. I wish I had something more concrete to give you but unfortunately I dont.

And when his doctor was caught putting his foot on the scales to help him try and cheat it and appear lighter - thats a real good way to make weight.
