I've always said that Witter would give Hatton so many problems in the ring so let's hope that one day this happens.
IF Hatton starts to get weak at the weight than Witter could upset him.
You'd need to go back the the early part of his fight with N'Dou to find form to suggest Witter could beat Hatton.
If he maintains his level of performance he will need Ricky to have slipped.
Witter said: "It's the fight British fans want, but what makes it even better is that we are both genuine world champions. We could fight for two titles.
WTF
I would not be 2 excited by this fight
i think it depends on saturday night really. assuming that hatton wins his next fight could all depend on how castillo and witter get on on saturday aswell. if they both win in style then ricky would more than likely fight castillo (which aparently is a done deal). but if witter wins more impressively then hatton may fight witter instead. and its no secret that witter wants the fight.
gotta want the castillo fight! a fight with witter is only gonna be big in britain
Who are you?Quote:

Thats in no way a subscription to the idea that Hattons struggling to make weight by the way. Witter isnt good enough right now, he needs to come on a long way or Hatton needs to go backwards.Quote:

I don't agree ;D
You can't lay a glove on Witter at present and he's such a slippery switch hitter and cuter than Hatton in every department.
Witter is so different to Hatton stylewise and Hatton usually gives us the same sort of bullish bulldozing fight style time after time.
Witter is the sort of fella who needs a fighter to come at him full on to bring the best out of him.
I think Hattons style would suit Witter more than Witters would Hatton.
Very close matchup imo and we'll know for sure after watching them both this coming weekend.
Can't wait 8)
I agreed with you that he would have to have slipped.Quote:

I think some of you are forgetting that without the VERY dubious first round er knockdown of Collazo,Hatton lost his last fight and looked average ;)
The weight thing is not an issue imo because others (PBF/Cotto) seem to pull it off effortlesley 8)

I think your being a bit naive there Smash. Cotto was breaking his neck to stay at 140 for ages and Mayweather has weight defying skills so its a moot point.Quote:

Give over. Witter cannot fight at Hatton's pace. A grandad could fight at Witter's pace.Quote:

I'd be surprised if Ricky lost, I'd also be surprised if Witter put up a performance that made a certain TV company change their view on him ;)
I'll be suprised if Ricky lost too but i think Urango is gonna give him trouble.
Agree that Witter needs a brilliant peformance which he is capable of,whether he delivers is another thing though.
I'll come back to this discussion after Tottenham SPANK the Geordie bastads ;D
Yeh being a Hatton fan and a blue (pessimist) im not exactly over-confident for the Urango fight. Too many people calling this fight a walkover without actually seeing Urango fight. I'm very suspicious cos this Urango looks a big fwocker. He's a southpaw aswell which Hatton hates more than he hates Man Utd. Everyone saw what an unheralded columbian (torres) did to Cotto......that makes me very nervous about this fight.Quote:

Urango won't just roll over for him and Hatton in no way shape or form has the strength to bully him.
Read between the lines on that one ie someone tell me what Ricky is gonna do when his usual tactic fails to dent the opponent..?
One dimentional anyone?
I love the Hitman and am fully behind him but i just get that feeling about this fight and i also strongly believe that Collazo has somewhat exposed him especially against a physically stronger opponent and a southpaw ;)
Hard nights work for Hatton could be on the cards.
I disagree fully there. THe reason people are calling this a walkover, is because they have seen Urango fight. He's totally average and completely limited. I think it's more that there are too many people(Hatton fan's) who are saying this will be a competitive fight in which Hatton will struggle, without having seen Urango fight. I mean you yourself just said, "he looks a big fwocker". Well yeah he is, but is that all your basing your view on?? Watch him fight, he doesn't look like a talented fwocker. Also what does the fact that Torres hurt Cotto have to do with this?? Torres was unknown and a late replacement, who had never lost a fight... Urango now has a world title(which he didn't actually win against a mediocre opponent), and Hatton has been training for him, for months.Quote:

Now hes just doing the sensible thing and moving back to a more comfortable weight.
:coolclick: P4Pking is correct. I've been trying to tell all you Hattonians that Urango aint shit on a shingle compared to Hatton.Quote:

Trust me...easy route for Ricky to get his belt back come Satdee night.
Strange because even the staunch hatton fans are seemingly a little wary.

G-man
I cant wait for this fight, its gona be exciting from the first bell. I dont know much about Urango but it sounds like hes a tough fighter and he's not gona want to give up his title and undefeated record. Both guys come straight farward, and the only thing im worried about is if Hatton gets cut. Gona be a great fight.

I wonder what role Urangos 6 inch reach advantage will play considering he's taller and blatantly the stronger man and he's a southpaw.
Don't anyone doubt my love for the Hitman but i'm getting the feeling that he's in for a tough, tough fight :-\
TBO im a red from Liverpool, so as a neutral it was a blinder of a game, but i live just out side Newcastle, so i guess they're my 2nd team. I just hope you can give me retribution and spank the Gunners in the semi-final of the Carling cup ;DQuote:

I see the fight ending in the 10th rd ;)
I dont think the southpaw angle counts for as much here. Ricky had trouble with Collazo and Magee for a while but both of those are clever fighters, Urangotang clearly is not ;D
He's certainly putting the graft in gym wise.. ;)

Did Ricky not get Knocked down by Magee and have progressively more trouble with Collazo as the fight went on..? :-\
Ya quite right Rick did get knocked down against Magee, but that was a short shot inside, nothing to do with reach advantage :)Quote:

Hypetheticaly...if there was a 13th round he'd have got floored ;)
he was hanging on in the 12th big time but that is why i love to watch him...
Knows not a reverse gear and could have quite easily scooted round the ring in the final round and coasted it!!
BUT OH NO not the Hitman ;) He loves the tear-up and just keeps coming forward and that is what makes him who he is 8)
Urango has Jesus on his side and Jesus is hard ;D
Some interesting views from Witter

I can’t say I am surprised, although to his credit he has won a world title; he has spent career getting publicity off my back. And all of a sudden because he won a world title he thinks he’s the man and I need him more than ever.
I have vacated three times as many belts as junior has won, won world titles in two weight divisions, won the ring belt, became the first British fighter ever to win The Ring fighter of the year and in the same year was voted by the American Sports ; fighter of the year.
Come January 20th I will have topped the bill in the U.S.A. in both Boston and the fighting capital of the world Las Vegas. But strangely enough Junior still thinks HE’S the man and I still need him more than ever. Somehow I don’t think so. Do You?
He also mentioned that he thinks I am on the slide due to injuries and lifestyle. I just wish to point out mine and Junior’s last three fights.
Witter v Cawley, Won points 12 rounds points W.B.C World Light Welterweight championship.
Witter v Lynes, won points 12 rounds points European Light welterweight Championship.
Witter v Kotelink ,won points 12 rounds points European Light Welterweight Championship.
My Fights
Hatton v Collazo, Won points 12 rounds W.B.A. World welterweights Championship.
Hatton v Maussa, Won k.o.9 W.B.A. World Light welterweight Championship
Hatton v Tszyu,Won T.K.O. 11 rounds I.B.F. Light Welterweight Championship
Compare the two records and on recent form and with junior’s age, at 33 years old, it looks to me that if anybody is on the slide, it’s junior.
It looks to me that Junior needs to get a move on and up his performances not me. I give junior credit for capping off a great career by winning his world title but he needs to realise that he is so far off my radar, it is unreal.
I wish Junior well in his first title defence and on fighting on the same night as me I hope AGAIN I have helped in raising Juniors profile and Hopefully me and Junior can defend our world titles and make it a huge night for British boxing."

Hatton should fight Witter as a backup, by that I mean if he can't get a fight with Castillo, PBF or Cotto.
Come on people Witter will get killed by Hatton. The guy couldn't even bang with Corley, he ran and held. Ricky will pound this guy into dust.
Did you watch that fight?? Corley couldn't bang with him, man. At least he's the only one who ever got hurt with a punch and after that he's the one who started running, Witter took what he was given and did easily enough to win against a good opponent.Quote:
