WLadimir Klitschko VS Nicolay Valuev

I just wanted to hear some reasons why someone would think Valuev has a chance against Wladimir?I just don't see it.

The only advantages Valuev has is his size and Wlads Mentality.

Valuev's physical advantages means that Wlad couldn't supress Valuevs avdances/ attacks with his own body weight, which he likes to do quite a bit.

Plus Valuev likes to club and advance so Wlad may find himself on the back foot for as long as the fight may last.

That being said, unless Wlad fights as a scared and tentative fighter, he should be able to read Valuevs shots and with his (IMO) superior hand speed AND power, should be able to at least keep Valuev at bay.

Ive seen Valuev wobbled by far lesser opponent so i wouldn't be suprised if he was stopped.

wlad is more skilled fight and like jimboogie said his only real advantage is his size all i know is when he tastes wlad right hand he will be in for a shock

What will you staunch Klitschko supporters say if and when he loses to Valuev???? Klit has showed himself to be vulnerable to lesser opponents and as much as you guys wanna sweep those piss poor showings under the rug and forget about them, THEY HAPPENED!!!! Anyone can say Manny did this or Manny did that for Wlad and well I agree he can polish anyfighter technically but theres the whole Stamina issue and self confidence thing and his chin, say what you want about Wlad being gassed and thats why he's been KO'D but Peter Dropped him 3x (legally or not) and Toney got hit with the same punches and after 24rounds he caught a flash knock down from a jab with his feet tangled. Yes James Toney the one haters refer to as JFAT and break his stones about being a Lazy Supermiddle who moved to Heavy because he prefered the dinner table over roadwork.Guess what the Blown up Toney has a better Chin and composure than Wlad....

I think this is a real bad matchup for Wlad because of his size... Wlad is a tall heavy by normal standards and enjoys those advantages along with holding and leaning on his opponents . But he is not athletic enough or small enough to bob and weave and duck out of the way of Valuevs punches... The reach height and weight difference will still be dramatic in Valuevs favor and again Nic will be doing all the leaning on Wlad and well carrying your own weight at about 240 coupled with a over 300lb man adds more suseptiblity to a person who already has a history of stamina is alarming IMO

This is far from a walk in the park for Klitschko, especially seeing Wlad will be the most stationary and broad target Valuev has ever faced...I would personally be a little concerned if I was a Klitschko fan ;)

Peter was on the attack the entire time of the Klit fight & was there to make a statement via knockout. Wlad was there to make the same statement...but more to prove that he wasn't going to be knocked out.

Wlad should pretty much dismantle Valuev. He'll be the largest opponent that Valuev has ever seen & the heaviest handed one.

Thanks and a :coolclick: in return, fair enough Wlad moves good for his size, but then again Old St. Nic aint to shabby either for moving shaking and handspeed for a Goliath.. I think Nic will shine win lose or draw..

To compliment what i was saying earlier.. A Wlad, that is truely ready for a fight with Valuev should be sharp and brave enough to comand the fight and really put the hurt on the Giant.

If not, if what we get is an awkward bag of wind fighting on nerves, Wlad will be like the proverbial fish out of water.

Wvlad wins this pretty much hands down . The only way I see Valuev having a chance is if Wvlad gasses out again and caves in mentally against a bigger man . Pretty unlikely set of events sepecialy given Valuevs pace and ability . Klitschko should be able to keep him on the end of a stiff jab and pick his shots . He can probably knock him out but may adopt safety first tactics and chip away for 12 1 sided rounds .

Valuev has improved leaps & bounds from what he was just 10 or 15 fights ago. Really...he has. His detractor's refuse to acknowledge it...but the signs are there.

If he were to hammer Wlad out or win a decision...you would never hear the end of how shitty Wlad was, how fixed the fight was, or whatever...anything & everything but respect would go out to Valuev.

I like the guy. He brings a lot of interest back to the sport...win, lose, or draw. That being said...I aint sold on him.

If he were to beat Maskaev, Peter, or Wlad...then I'd have to cash in me chips...I'd be sold.

I think Big Nik is good for the sport for the reasons you mentioned..... I would like to see him step up in comp soon I think he has improved and anyone who thinks he is a big hairy punching bag with a good promoter, is sadly mistaken.. Niks got all the potential to rule that division.... We'll see how he does against McCline this weekend, he could get sparked and this convo will be irrelevant ;D

Yep. Fwock what everyone else says...they say any press is better than none at all & when Valuev pops up in a local alternative newspaper in my area...that's good press.

First of all Wladimir has faced fighters with combined wins of 1104 and 332 loses in 50 fights.Valuev's opponents wins are 573 and 179 loses in 46 fights.Valuev faced 7 fighters who had never had a fight, Wladimir never faced a guy in which it was there first fight.

Valuev just fought Barrett and won by TKO in the 11th round, Wladimir fought Barrett (in his prime) and destroyed him in 7.I could go down the list of ffighters Wladimir has beaten and tell you why each one has been a better fighter than Valuev has ever faced, I just don't want to waste my time.

My point is Wladimir has done this in 50 fights only 4 more than Valuev!My point is Valuev's opponents don't have the number of wins as Wladimir's does.

#3 Peter...fought 24 rounds against a blown up middle weight James Toney. Never was able to hurt Toney or land clean yet Peter had Wlad down 3 TIMES!!
So Wlad is way worse than Toney??

#4 Castillo...who?? just lost to a 197 pound guy! Ko'd in 4! by a cruiser weight with 11 pro fights!! so Wlad can hit as hard as an 11 fight cruiser weight! wooooo!

Wlad would fight his same "stay outside and jab jab jab and then throw the right". Wlad by vicious KO rd 8.

I think the klit wins by KO, hes more technecaly sound, better all round skills, the only real question would be the klits chin, but i don't think Valuev has the heart to really go in for a KO with the klit. I don't think Valuev is to confident he can win anyhow IMO, they would of fought by now if he had any balls!

Nvm tho fight wont happen, John ruiz (the real WBA champ!) fights and beats valuev soon enough ;D you all know the quiet man is biding his time, waiting for the klit to gather afew more belts, hen BANG he comes back whoops valuev, beats the klit and reins undisputed Heavyweight champion OF THR WORLD!!!

Wlad's not the greatest boxer to ever step in the ring, that being said, He'll be a million times more competitive than anything valuev has faced up to the point. Valuev's chin is by no means solid and i will go out on a limb and say that it is merely an illusion formed by his height that he can take a good punch (as he has never been hit by a good punch, especially since he has never fought a power puncher). Wlad's chin is suspect but valuev isn't exactly the worlds greatest ko artist as he is just a big guy who leans on people til they tire then he pushes them over.

Valuev's physical advantages means that Wlad couldn't supress Valuevs avdances/ attacks with his own body weight, which he likes to do quite a bit.

Right on the money, skill wise it is no fight...but when Wlad sees a 7' giant in the ring opposite him who knows? I'm not sure if even Manny's psychology can keep Wlad from going into convulsions...Wlad has NVER fought anyone taller than him and that alon could send the fragile psyche of Wlad down the drain...I see it as either a one sided Wlad beat down and KO or I can also see Wlad in the fetal position, sucking his thumb and crying for mommy....This would be a fun fight.
