Direct from Vitali Klitschko: I’m Back!
Finally something from Vitali himself.Until I heard it from him I didn't believe the rumors but it looks like it is true.As you could have guessed I am a huge fan of the Klitschko's but I don't know what to think of this whole development.I really wanted to see Wladimir become the unified Heavyweight Champion and now it doesn't look like that will be happening, or at least not for a long time.Having Vitali back will be good for boxing but how long can he hang around until his injuries once again catch up with him?I guess we will have to see.

Re: Direct from Vitali Klitschko: I’m Back!
It's some kind of scheme they came up with one Sunday afternoon while milling around in their grandmothers backyard.
Vitali takes the fights that pose too big a threat to Wlad and they both skate through the rest of their respective outings. This way when Maskaev and Valuev get their inevitable a** whippings the Russians will still have 50% (or more) of the Heavyweight crown.
If they would fight each other than it wouldn't matter much, but they won't and it's nothing more than a safety net for Wlad. I'm sure that Wlad's job was too hold the fort till Vitali's return.

How so? he lost to a clearly old and pas it leiws. tbh he looks like a robot in the damn ring, his uperbody work was good, but i thought his footwork was shit, he looked so awkward when trying to box, and being one of the top 2 HW atm proves what exactly? this is surly the worset crop of heavys thee has been, id on't like to say that 'coz it seems im being harsh on them and i have the respect for anyone who fights coz they are risking alot;but compared to the past earas and fighters this is by far the worst and even if you wwere the number 1 hw atm and had all 4 belts it don't mean jack and prove your not overated.
Whos your top 3 right now btw?
ruiz
Wlad
vitali ?
I am kinda suprised vitli wants to go right in for the wbc? i would of thought he would have a warm up? i know oleg isn't highly thought of, but after his long long lay off it seems risky to go in and fight for the wbc and then having to take on peter

So much for your theory about G. Leon. If he fights Maskaev before Peter, then I know for sure the Klits are running scared from Peter.
-
Re: Direct from Vitali Klitschko: I’m Back!
Yeah Vitali lost legit to Lewis , no excuses but if dr iron fist came back now, I think he would make alot of waves . If he can recapture fighting fitness he will wipe the floor with Maskaev . Those guys are in different leagues . Infact i'd go as far as saying both Klitschkos are the best in the world with Sam Peter a deserving 3rd place .
Vitali wants to make his dream come true of both brothers holding world titles at the same time. I believe in a few months this will become a reality and I think it will be good for boxing . Both clean living inteligent men .

Re: Direct from Vitali Klitschko: I’m Back!
i guess wlad was to hold it down until fatal vitaly gets back.
all this talk about peter, the klitchko bros avoiding him, im not buying into that...wlady did beat him already, in a rematch i can see peter being a lot aggressive but then again i can see him getting stop by wlady straight right.
it sucks for peter that vitaly is coming back though, i think its just bad timing, but i think both peter and vitaly deserve the shot. vitaly can win back his title, then vitaly would prolly take on peter. vitaly has never been drop at all, and only way to beat vitaly is to k.o him, i just can't see anyone doing that to him. vitaly will eventually dominate the heavyweight division
THE RETURN OF THE CHAMP!!!!!!! FATAL VITALY

WITH 2 MANDATORY DEFENCES EACH IT MEANS YAY MINIMUM OF 4 KLITSCHKO FIGHTS PER YEAR. One every 3 months. But how long will it be before they have eradicated all credible opposition?
Briggs, Peter, Valuev (could be hard), Maskaev... and then some old timers; Sanders, Holyfield, Mccall, golota... and some youngsters Dimitrenko etc....
in 2 years there will be no credible opposition. (Of course Valuev may cause an upset)

Re: Direct from Vitali Klitschko: I’m Back!
They being the powers that be. Want to have Wladimer and Vitali to have history as the two brother Heavyweight champions ::** typical boxing is no longer for fans its for politics
-
Re: Direct from Vitali Klitschko: I’m Back!
Good news i always like that guy
-
Re: Direct from Vitali Klitschko: I’m Back!
Awesome.
Glad he's coming back.
He & Lewis were my two favorite heavies of recent years.
-
Re: Direct from Vitali Klitschko: I’m Back!
I think I'm gonna throw up! :-X
Also Wacko, let us not forget the complete fukin CRAP Vitali pulled last time. He made a whopping ONE title defense against fat ass Danny Williams then postponed, postponed again, then postponed again, then retired rather than fight Hasim Rahman. God, I hate the Klitschkos. And HBO. And their undying love and hype of those two robotic fuckers... ::**

Re: Direct from Vitali Klitschko: I’m Back!
I like Vitali and think he could have beaten just about any heavyweight out there. He cannot be called a great though because his tenure and authority on the division was never really complete...

Re: Direct from Vitali Klitschko: I’m Back!
This is a great time for HW. The top 5 now would be a handful for any era. Valuev outweighs the old masters w 150 pounds - that cannot be compensated for. Ali who could barely get through 190 pound henry cooper would be crushed by Vitaly.

Bigger doesnt neccessarily equate with being better...I think Ali would have been able to dance rings around Valuev. As for Vitali, thats a difficult one for me. He actually has very decent skills and his size comes along with a decent jab, an iron chin and power.
I hate comparing fighters from different generations.

yes me too, I just want to remind us about not being too negative. Imagine a guy like 6.3 Maskaev or Vitaly in any era they would have been forces. Vitaly is quick for his size - and I love his his style- hands down, shoulder up, confidence. A whole Size bigger than BIg George and w some defence.

Re: Direct from Vitali Klitschko: I’m Back!
Vitaly vs Ali - I would say Vitaly 8 of 10.

His eye gave out? LMFAO!! WTF is that!!
lmao!! "his eye gave out!!!" in lauging so hard im crying!!
Let me guess!? his cheek "gave" out? lmao and his big fat split lip?? haa haaa...gave out???
DUDE. the only "giving out" in that fight was the serious and total "BEATDOWN: that Lennox Lewis "gave out" to Vitali!
the only thing that gives out on Klitschkos...is their B@LLS!

You may well be right. But there is always the element of how much more could the great of yesterday do if pushed to the limits? It might mean being stopped, or it might mean something very special to upset the odds. Always the element of the unknown.

I'm fine with him coming back but not jumping Peter to fight Maskaev. Let him fight Briggs.

My God. This is a sad day for boxing fans. I like ya Miles, I expect more outta you man. Vitali beat Muhammad Ali? Is it April fools alread? No, I didn't think so. NO fukin way in hell does Vitali even win much more than a round or two against Ali. Ali would make him quit. Vitali would not come out of his corner after about 8 rounds of beating that Ali would put on him. Big George would KO him rather quickly. His jaw ain't steel. Not by any means. Corey Sanders wobbled him several times, but did not have the air to finish him the fatty. Why people think the man has a great jaw is beyond me. Yes he has a better chin than that of his brother, but so does my grandmother.

I was standing on the fence and accepting the unknowable aspect of it all. I was simply condeding that the other guy had a chance of being right and I might be wrong. Ali had never faced anybody the size of Vitali and who is able to impose his jab and distance so well and who has a sturdy chin as well to boot. Ali wouldnt be knocking Vitali out. Ali was a force of nature and may very well have been able to work a decision. I think this is a possibility also. But as always in these cross generational matchups there are the unknown factors and we just dont know how they would interact come fight time. The Ali that fought Foreman would have a shot, but he's got to work on that huge reach advantage that Vitali possseses....

Vitali is a freakin amatuer compared to Ali. I mean who the fuk is Vitali? He made one defense of his title he won from outta shape fringe contender Corey Sanders, against totally outta shape Danny Williams. Primo Carnera was bigger than Vitali, and almost as clumsey and Max Bear DESTROYED him. Jess Willard was much larger than Jack Dempsey and Dempsey DESTROYED him. Now Ali would not DESTROY Vitali with power, but he would outbox him silly, cut him to ribbons and make him or his corner stop the fight. The class difernce between the two would be way too much for Vitali to overcome, he'd be smoked.

Its not just about class, it is about logistics too. Dont get me wrong, Im not jumping on Vitali's side here, Im just accepting the difficulties of comparing and contrasting with fighters of different sizes and eras. To not accept the possibilities of of what might very well be is to really limit one's sense of perspective.
I agree completely that Ali was a great and he accomplished so much. But he wasnt perfect and he could be beaten. Frazier and Norton are testament to that. To say Vitali has no chance is blinkered vision because he would have a realistic chance of beating Ali. Ali starts with the size and weight handicap against a fighter who really shouldnt be compared with Carnera! Just as Vitali has a chance, so does Ali have a shot at beating Vitali.

I know he's not as bad as Carnera. but HBO has made him almost as bad of hype job. I think you are being too diplomatic here man, too generous to Vitali. He sure as heck ain't gonna outbox Ali, and he's not gonna bomb him outta there, so whats he gonna do? Get schooled thats what. It's all good though man, I know you're just holdin back so as not to offend the Klit heads. ;) ;D

Re: Direct from Vitali Klitschko: I’m Back!
OK here I go again..
Please don't sad click the sh1t out of me.
Even tho I don't think all that much of the Klitschkos in this era.
maybe because there is so much over the top Klitschko nuthu@@ing here.
BUT.
Either one would beat a prime Ali...easily..
Byrd is very slick and skilled, fast, smooth & smart. In short he is better than Ali ever was....and W Klitsch beat him...........Badly............twice..
scores like 106-120,107-119,108-118 in the first fight..a blow out.
Second fight...The VERY skilled ,slick, fast and smart Byrd.(and i mean all those things) was totaly dominated before a 7th round tko.
Against Vitali, Byrd was Way behind, and having his ass landed to him on a plate. Behind 83-88,83-88,82-89 before Vitali tore a rotator cuff and couldn't continue.
Against the new era of skilled, schooled, supersized and superathletic fighters.....ALI has....NO CHANCE.....ZERO!
-
Re: Direct from Vitali Klitschko: I’m Back!
landmine, the simple fact that you think Chris Byrd was better than Ali just meant that I stopped reading anything further in your post. Seriously, if you're gonna spout that sort of foul language, leave it until the end of the post.
-
Re: Direct from Vitali Klitschko: I’m Back!
vitali is good but what your saying and what you said on other thread your overrating him plinden too much i mean vitali is too robitic his hands are constantly low and he is easy to hit and i think prime bowe would beat vitali imo
and landmine your posts when i keep reading byrd is better than ali i dont really bother reading your posts anymore

I don't think Wlads job was to hold the fort....Since Wlad is the best in the Division...IMO he is also the superior fighter between the two of them...Vitaly just has the chin to go with his skills...If Wlad had Vitalys chin...He would own the division until he damn well felt like giving it up...And yes IMO the chin is Wlads only real flaw other then occassional stamina problems

Re: Direct from Vitali Klitschko: I’m Back!
Has Vitali or Wlad ever been asked what they would do if they were the only two champions in heavyweight and had 2 of the belts each ??
I'm presuming they would never EVER fight each other but wondered what their official line on this subject is ?!?

Against Vitali, Byrd was Way behind, and having his a** landed to him on a plate. Behind 83-88,83-88,82-89 before Vitali tore a rotator cuff and couldn't continue.
Against the new era of skilled, schooled, supersized and superathletic fighters.....ALI has....NO CHANCE.....ZERO!
Amen, thats right. Look at the data: ALI was always the bigger man (apart from Foreman and another) and he went 12 rounds against RUDI LUBBERs 196 POUNDS, and had trouble against 190pound Cooper; the sluggers like CHUVALO 216 pounds took him 15 rounds! Vitaly at 250+ would have killed those guys. Ali was BIGGER than Lyle, Frazier, Norton - better reach, heavier and still he had to struggle - Vitaly is many sizes bigger and taller.
AND Vitaly has never been KOd, hasnt even ever lost a match not stopped on injuries.
AND Corrie Sanders would have been a handful for ALI like he was for Vitaly; fast hands, rugged as hell, bigger. much more of a KO power than ALI I would say Corrie Sanders would win 6 out 10
