Could a real Rocky Balboa be a Heavyweight champ?
Or what about the other film champs, Mr. T, Evan Drago, Spider Rico, Apollo Creed, Union Cane, Mason Dixon and Tommy Gunn
Heres my thoughts on them...
Mr.T, Strong like a bull and could give less powerful heavy's a run for their money.
Evan Drago, Lanky and good with the jab. Nice chin and decent power.
Spider Rico, Bum fighter, no chance of glory!
Apollo Creed, nice jab and 1-2. Nice outside movement in the ring. Got guts.
Union Cane, Paper champ with nothing on the table.
Mason Dixon, bahahahaha!
Tommy Gunn, Nice strong fired up young man.
Re: Could a real Rocky Balboa be a Heavyweight champ?
with the current division...
Absolutely.
Re: Could a real Rocky Balboa be a Heavyweight champ?
If Rocky was real he would be the greatst of all time.
After all Creed had a 100% KO ratio before Rocky fought him, Mr T was an animal and Ivan Drago was practically an evil super hero.
No way any real fighter could hang with those guys.
Wasn't Drago's punchin power like 5 times as strong as an average heavyweight or something crazy like that?

the division is changing as we speak....
Re: Could a real Rocky Balboa be a Heavyweight champ?
Evan Drago ducked a young Wladimir Klitschko before leaving the amateurs. Apollo Creed got knocked out in two rounds by Sugar Ray Leonard at the Olympic trials.
Re: Could a real Rocky Balboa be a Heavyweight champ?
Drago was said to have real power yeah!
But I say Tommy Morrison/Tommy Gunn has a real chance at being champ.
Mr T would kick Drago's ass imho.
Mr T would get beat by Creed
Creed would beat Tommy Gunn.
And Union Cane got no chance against none of them imho.

Tommy was the WBO champ....
Re: Could a real Rocky Balboa be a Heavyweight champ?
Mr T would have Tommy Morrison for dinner.
Re: Could a real Rocky Balboa be a Heavyweight champ?
I wonder if Stallone was watching the Klitschko's come up when he made Rocky4. It was strange watching it recently and realizing that the last several champs have been russian. And 2 of them fit the "Drago" profile quite well.

Please. Everyone knows Drago's handlers would have never fought a prime Mr. T. BTW, everyone in boxing knew that Drago had big-time stamina problems, Rocky only exposed him.

are we talking about the same mr t, you know the one the never throws a single jab, only looping helicopters that my blind granny could see coming a mile away.......and who had stamina problems?drago went 15 rounds with balboa, clubber lang never went past 3! ;D
Re: Could a real Rocky Balboa be a Heavyweight champ?
Mr T could knock be into the next month,
He has more power than an elephant,
He fought like a raging bull.
Evan would have trouble taking those hits and get hurt. I don't care how
much of drugs (as seen in the film) they pumped into him to enchance his
athletic ability. Mr. T is raw. :lickish:

The reality of the human condition means that there are some freaks of nature that can do special tasks. There's people with stretchy skin, or people with scaly skin, or the guy who can pick up 10s of kilos with a pin through his nutsack. It's perfectly plausible that one of these genetic mutations could be a slight difference in how the brain is cushioned...and perhaps could be un-KO-able. And if that was some regular joe with an iron chin who fluked a shot at the title.... ;)
Re: Could a real Rocky Balboa be a Heavyweight champ?
STALLONE IS A 5'6. HE IS SHORT FOR A MIDGET FOR CHRIST SAKES!
Re: Could a real Rocky Balboa be a Heavyweight champ?
Creed needs to put his ego to one side and take a leaf out of PBF's book. If he'd just listen to his trainer and stayed away from Rocky then he boxed his head off. A clear points win, but no, he has to go for the knock out!

Personally, I think that PBF would win over a lot more fans if he took a leaf out of Apollo Creed's book. Going for the KO and taking risks might mean he loses a bout, but the fans would flock to see him, and his skills would mean he wins the large majority of his bouts.
