What the hell? I don't think your gonna top that man. Codrington v Green is one of the nastiest I've seen considering Jaidon's condition, but that one was just carnage.

Re: Biggest riot in the ring?!?!?
I remember when that happened....There should have been a dozen arrest at minimum..........Iyou can't see it but Foreman is standing up when talking and from where he was standing people were trying to enter the ring...you hear him telling them not to but the one guy he is talking to kept debating if he should just charge or not you can see him rocking back and forth waiting for his chance....George is taking stuff off with every word Jacket,,tie ect everyone decided not to try their luck with george...It was funny stuff i wish it showed it

Re: Biggest riot in the ring?!?!?
Okay...so I know it's a bit unorthodox to go off topic quite so quickly....but I remember my colleague Mike Lewis, who's the boxing correspondent for the Telegraph telling me about the Herbie Hide fracas outside the ring at a Fraudley Harrison fight. Apparently, Hide and Steve Crocodile Fitch were mouthing off, and Audley's security company were all at ringside. Apparently Hide and Fitch had to make a sharp exit, and were seen pegging it at top speed down the Bethnal Green road being chased by the security guys. Though riots outside the ring are an entirely different topic...

Shit I didn't know it was Herbie Hide! Top fighter in his day but a bit of a psycho isn't he?

Re: Biggest riot in the ring?!?!?
Alan Minter versus Marvin Hagler. Minter made the comment before the fight that no black man would ever take his title. So right off the bat there was a lot of tension in the crowd. Hagler ended up winning, the ring was rushed, referee attacked, chairs flew over the top, people were getting trampled ect. Worst I've seen just because of the racial tension in the building.

Chairs? How about the bottles that were raining down into the ring.

That was bad but still, takin a chair to the top of the head is about as bad as it gets.

I used but I cleared it out because it wasn't the whole fight, only downloaded about halfway so it was skipping all the time. Not sure how that happened. I know it's on the internet though. Britkid was at the fight as a youngin and he tells a very good story of what it was like that night.

Re: Biggest riot in the ring?!?!?
Whilst I was pretty amused by Judah Nady & Judah Mayweather...the props have to go to the fan man scene.
I still like the Judah Mayweather debacle. Floyd leaned back in the corner looking all amused & shit...never expected that. I figured he'd be out there throwing punches.
First vote goes to fan man...Floyd Judah second for me.

How about the one at the NEC Birmingham. That was something else.

Re: Biggest riot in the ring?!?!?
Man...that fanman thing is absolutely crazy! But why is he nicknamed fanman, and was he a fan of Bowe or Holyfield? That is absolute lunacy....only in America would that sh*t happen.

Probably the huge fan on his back , I seen that clip loads of times but I still know nothing of the guy or even if he was even a fan of boxing. He was just after his 15 minutes I think and not a beating from the ringside fans ;D

If you poke a dog with a stick it will bite...maybe he'd have been better off parachuting into some sort of a christian conference or CND demo.

Re: Biggest riot in the ring?!?!?
How about that other one with Holyfield vs Bowe II where the parachute guy landed in the ring? Not only was that bizarre but a fight broke loose as well.
Anybody got that video?

That wasn't the first time he had "dropped in" so to speak. I think it was a football or baseball game before that...

Whattup Tito?!?!?!
I know that this aint in the ring...but it was at a presser & I'm not rubbing it in your face because your'e a Tito fan...TitoFan...but the bullshit that my guy (Hopkins) pulled in Puerto (throwing down the flag) caused an insanely huge riot...I think it was at a presser.
He had to run for his life as the mob surged up onto the stage.
I know that he was doing it to hype the fight...but it was still bullshit. I hate shit like that...but Hopkins was known for going above & beyond back then.
Set up a huge rivalry & a hell of a fight...it just enraged the country...atleast he apologized for it...still don't make it right.

Hey wack !! Just dropped in for a little boxing R&R. Anyway, you're absolutely right. That episode at the press conference in San Juan got everybody up in an uproar. Hell, even I would've chased Hopkins around had I been there.
People blamed Don King for putting Hopkins up to it. But let's face it, Hopkins, as the adult, mature person he is... should've told King to shove it, and think of another way to hype the fight. That kind of sh*t is just plain unacceptable.

Nah babe...that shit was all Hopkins. Honestly though...he was ashamed of it afterwards...read an interview about it...wish I had the link. He was really REALLY remorseful about it. I was kinda surprised...he also propped Tito & Papa Tito in the end.
Still...it don't make it right. There are very few things that I have issues with Hopkins over...that is one of them. Lost respect for him over that stunt...but I gained it back a few fights down the road...happens that way with your favorites.

Well, look at it this way: Everybody's allowed to make mistakes. But if you're a man about it and admit to it, it goes a long ways to patch things up. The fact that BHop was remorseful about what he did (and seemed sincere about it), took off some of the anger. I personally don't dislike the guy. Matter of fact, I respect his approach to fighting and the way he tends to be his own man. If I were to list fighters I dislike, I'd have to start the list with the likes of James Toney and Zab Judah.

Sure it doesn't make it but its a lot more than most would do. It seems incredible what some boxers do, but such passionate men who are focused solely on 1 thing, (fighting) can be easily swayed and influence. Looks like Bernard has grown wise these days to a lot of the crap in the boxing business.

True...all true & very well put.
During my thirteen or fourteen year "fan-fare" over the Nard...I've seen him do & say some pretty stupid & outlandish things...but one thing about him...he has pretty much always backed up every single crazy assed comment that leaves his lips.
He is indeed one of the more "colorful characters" (putting it mildly) in boxing. He's something else...his life, his history within the sport, and what he's become is an inspiration to those that want to change their lives.
He's grown a hell of a lot...of that you are correct.

Man that KO was horrific....he was gone with the right pretty early on in that flurry, and everything else was just helping him on the way down. That was some seriously nasty looking stuff, and you can hear from the camera's mic that his brother is really worried about him.
