I have to be honest, after reading that he does make some valid points.
If it is true that Maskaev has until August 7th to make his mandatory defense and that he is permitted to fight in between then I guess it takes way from the force of Peter's argument somewhat.
It will be interesting to read the reply for sure.

Well, true. He does make some interesting arguments and it seems that there is validity to many of the claims. That being the case, the bottom line is $$$$. I guess Maskaev should cash in while the opportunity is there. Just kind of sux that Peter will have to wait a bit longer for a title shot. It will be interesting to see what Vitali does if he beats Maskaev. I wonder if he will give Peter his rightful shot at the title or just retire.

So if Lennox came back he would rule out Vitali because he retired first ??? Then we have a fatal three way fight.
All this is because the powers that be want Wladimer and Vitali to hold the championships at the same time, no more, no less and money!

The only thing that stinks about this are the WBC rules. They set them up so that they can do what they want and gain financially from any unordinary circumstances that may come up.
VKlit needs to earn his way to the title and not handed the opportunity. Just because he is coming out of retirement should grant him special opportunities.

He's just a fan, and he's right. Come on now. I know I've come out against Vitali doing this, just because I think he should recognize that he is doing a lot more bad then he is good. And I have little doubt that he'll give Peter a title shot. I also don't find any fault in Maskaev. Vitali makes a lot more money for him. Peter is just the odd man out and it should be the WBC's job to protect the guy who has paid them so much money over the last year. I wouldn't necessarily be so mad had the WBC not mandated that BS rematch with Toney. But this is twice they've screwed him now and it's becoming a pattern.

I think the WBC is being shown to be a bunch of fools 1st Sam Peter didn't get a shot after he "beat" James Toney and now he really wins but it doesn't change the Emeritus status of Vitali.
Now I think Sam Peter deserves his shot but you can't blame Vitali for trying to take advantage of what was promised to him....ANYONE ELSE IN THE HISTORY OF THE SPORT would do what Vitali is doing.

Im sure Peter has paid a shed load of sanctioning fee's over the past couple of years. Its just not fair on him.
Its not like SP is just some obscure mandatory. Peter is far more deserving of a shot than Vitali, no question.

It's not my intention (yet) to ever try and genuinely discourage any forum member from feeling free to express his opinion.
Or to discourage any boxing fan from enjoying this or any other forum.
I alway try and provide extra encouragement to people who have a unique or shall we say "unpopular" viewpoint.
On the other hand maybe I'm too hard on guys who have lot's of support here expressing common majority opinions.
If good natured and man to man "ribbing" has crossed the line in your opinion Lyle, I appologize.

It just goes to show how ridiculous Lyle is being by saying that if Peter can't rabbit punch he can't win. ::** The guy has heavy hands and showed some decent footwork in the last Toney fight. Fighting James Toney is a little different than fighting Vitali Klitschko.Corrie Sanders is a much more explosive FAST puncher compared to Peter and look what Vitali did to him.Peter would not scare Vitali in the slightest.

Wlad has fought other undefeated heavyweights, Brock, Castillo....and he's beaten Chris Byrd twice
