Which fight where you had how it would go in your head before , but it turned out completely different to what you expected. Mine was Hearns v Duran, I got a bit of a shock how about you.

Jeff Lacy - Joe Calzaghe. The only coclusion I've come to is just that Lacy choked. It should have been a great fight. Because I KNEW that Calzaghe would engage with Lacy on the inside and I knew that would be a mistake. I literally spent DAYS going over that fight. I downloaded a ton of Calzaghe fights. Downloaded Lacy's career (even though I've seen most of it). Went over it a lot.
First round came around. Bam, inside. Calzaghe got the better but I knew Lacy would make him pay. Instead he looked more worried about the positioning of his trunks. Had a bunch of friends over. About round nine, I just died. The Cotto fight I watched, but I couldn't pay attention. Bout as down in the dumps as I've ever been as a sports fan. Either that or when the Giants lost the World Series in 02. I don't think so though.
That was definitely the biggest shock of my boxing watching career. Most of the mega fights I've only seen in hindsight, and the other ones I can usually predict how the fight is going to go even if I don't pick the winner right.
Tyson/Holyfield IQuote:

Outside boxing the biggest dissapointments for me were in NFL football
The Minnesota Vikings losing to the Atlanta Falcons in the 1998 NFC championship game. First team to go 15-1 and not make the superbowl
The Minnesota Vikings losing to the New York Giants in the 2000 NFC Championship. 41-0 was the final score
Good one, ;) Boy was that ever a shocker.....Quote:

Lewis Rahman I was another one that threw me for a loop, but I was glad to see Lewis crumble.
Not to steer the topic but damn...Gary missing that field goal was heartbreaking. I was rooting against Atlanta since I hated the whole Dirty Bird thing and the 49ers got screwed out of a victory over them the game before after the officials let the clock run out even though JJ Stokes ran out at Atlanta's 30 with 20 seconds left in the game.Quote:

I don't know of a fight where THAT kind of an outcome would have been in anyones mind.
James "Buster" Douglas v Mike Tyson, Tokyo,
comes to mind .
Jones vs Tarver II.
First round Jones won easy, second round he was looking good, then CRACK! He was down in a bad way, he got up though. But the fight was stopped, rightfully so. Very, very shocking. Jones was untouchable. :o :(
TARVER CAN BEAT ROCKY FOR GODS SAKE OF COURSE HE CAN BEAT RJJ ;DQuote:

I was certain we were going to see a 12 round embarrasment with Danny Williams in his usual dream state with Harrison cautiously pitter pattering his jab out there like a nervous archer firing arrows from the safety a castles walls.
What we actually got was a ferocious Audley who looked utterly brilliant and devastating.
I had to watch it three times to make sure I hadn't dreamt it ??? :P
I dunno..tyson was SOOO messed up then.....Quote:

I guess the last fight where i was really shocked would of been Barrera v Pac-man, was speachless after that - other than that i guess i could say i was mildly suprised when baldio kod gatti in the fashion he did - i thought that would go the full 12 with baldi winning, not a Ko like that.
ROy Jones/Tarver 2. I was convinced that Roy was weakened from losing so much muscle weight, and this time around he was going to give Tarver a vicious beating. When he got hit and went down, I couldn't believe it, it was very surreal.
There are fights that I consider more shocking (Foreman/Moorer, Douglas/Tyson, ect) but I wasn't watching boxing at those times, I think for a fight to have been "shocking" you had to have watched it when it happened.
Lewis VS Golota.....Even though I expected Lewis to win I never expected him to Blow Golota away like he did in the first round :o...Golota had a big Hype surrounding him due to his fights with Bowe...I knew something was not right that night because Golota wasn't at the arena untill 15 min before fight time...But never expected that shellacking........
