Zab to Fight Israel Cardona
This is a dangerous fight for Zab imo. Pito is a solid fighter who can crack but like Zab hes on the downside of his career too.
-
Re: Zab to Fight Israel Cardona
if Spadafora beat him every round then Zab Judah should be able to stop him.
But Zab has tendency to fight down to the level of his opposition just enough to lose.
So we'll see.

No it's not. Cardona is a mediocre fighter with declining skills. Zab should have him out by the 3rd.

Mayweather beat Baldomir every round....and Zab almost got kod by Baldo, but i know what your saying. Spadafora was a hell of a fighter though to his credit

As was judah until he stopped jabbing. Zab gets too complacent too often to be a champ for very long

Re: Zab to Fight Israel Cardona
Personally I think Zab is fucked ! Pito has excellent power for a little fellow . Zab has a bad habit of going offensive then stopping and admiring his work , backing str8 up and dropping his hands ! Pito will time this, and we going to see some chicken dancing I believe !

The only chicken dancing, crip walking will be done by Cardona. I just can't see him putting up much of a fight. There is a reason they picked him for his first fight back. He's there to make Judah look good. And I think he will.

That the popular consensus no doubt . I just happen to disagree I think Pito will knock Judah out fairly early.. Will be a great match regardless ! Zab is an exciting fighter , and Ivan Cardona likes to bring it . Good match making here ! :coolclick: in 24 O0

Re: Zab to Fight Israel Cardona
Judah on the downside of his career? No, I don't think so at all. I am willing to bet he will win AT LEAST one more world title. He's still a young man, with great speed, and power. I've never even heard of Cardona, and if Paul Spadafora dominated him, then Judah should blast him outta there. I can't see Judah not taking his comeback fight seriously.

Judah to face Cardona 4/27!

Re: Judah to face Cardona 4/27!
Mark my words, Judah WILL have a belt at 147 by the end of 2007. Let's go Judah, let's go!!!

Spadafora has shown to be consistent as a fighter ! . Judah has not, Zab has lapses in concentration during fights, and in training , makes a lot of mistakes which are a born from poor habits in the gym. Joel is not the kind of trainer a world class fighter need ! Zab constantly drops his hands in sparring while backing str8 up.. He also drops his hand while doing mitt work.. Joel never says anything about it. . So another words its instilled in him now , a bad habit repeated over and over again are the kind of habits that are hard to break . Zab needs someone that stops him in the gym the moment he does that and and says, “ Zab, that’s absolute shit“ lets do right. or just fucking go home “ . ! ..
Two different fighters all together Judah and Spadafora. O0

Spadafora has had his Dorins and his Sosa's. And is known to be inconsistant too

Those are some big words man
His options would be
Winner of Mosley / Collazo (as interim champ) for the WBC
Miguel Cotto for the WBA
Kermit Cintron for the IBF
Antonio Margarito for the WBO
I see all of those fights being tough for Judah, none of these guys are pushovers.

True but none are fights that he couldn't win either, and he would be with the exception of Mosley Collazo winner by FAR the most dangerous guy any of them have fought at 147.. You think Judah wouldn't give Cotto, Cintron, or Margarito hell? Id favour him to win those fights personally. And certainly all make for great matches. Judah is a punk but he is a very exciting and talented fighter, don't see why his name isn't tossed around for any potential fights these days.... I guess the problem is now that he's really a huge risk with low reward coming off the 2 losses people are quick to write him off.. Although I think the way he fought Floyd he may beat anyone but the pretty boy at 147..
-
Re: Zab to Fight Israel Cardona
If Judah fought for ANY belt right now it would probably be the vacant WBO belt Margarito is gonna leave
-
Re: Zab to Fight Israel Cardona
yo israel cardona is taking this fight. by ko. zab has no chin and pito has a lot of power

Re: Zab to Fight Israel Cardona
You can have alll the athletisism in the world but if you lack heart,if you lack courage and determination, you won't get far. Zab is a great example of that and he would get beaten by Cotto,Margarito etc. He should have to work his way back,I'm sick of seeing him being given so many shots without working for it.

Dunno why you hate Zab so much bro, I like both him AND Cotto. Truth be told, Judah would be the absolute best fighter Cotto had ever faced, if they were to fight. And Cotto would stand a good chance of getting KO'd. He could KO Judah too, possibly. It could be a great fight. Judah is a very very good fighter, he gave PBF the second best fight of his career, and knocked him down. Zab Judah is quite capable of becoming a world champion a couple more times before his career is over, and I expect him to do just that.
-
Re: Zab to Fight Israel Cardona
I doubt Cotto would be KO'd by Judah....Miguel's defense is VERY GOOD (when he uses it). Zab couldn't take Miguel's pressure, it would be an EXTREMELY bad fight for him to take.

Just as easy for me to say you can have all the heart, courage, and determination in the world, but if you lack athletisicm, ability, speed, timing, you'll never be anything more than a journeyman who will lose his only big fight to a real athlete like Cotto. Zab would KO Margarito, watch the Clottey fight again.. Margarito get's timed and beat to the punch easily before Clottey hurts his hand. And Judah is better than Clottey in most every way. Not as durable, but he is faster with more pop, and Id expect him to have Tony out by the mid rounds. Margarito is a total plodder, he doesn't have what it takes to beat Judah or Cotto. He is too slow, only throws wide shots, horrible defence and footspeed. I know we've had this arguement so many times but really the Clottey fight just displays what mediocre skills Tony really has. He's not beating any elite fighter, EVER.

Well, Zab is faster than Miguel, hits as hard as Miguel, is a better boxer than Miguel, is more talented than Miguel, though does not have as good as defense nore focus as Miguel. I think it would figure to be a very competitive fight. With someone probably gettin KO'd.

I don't hate Zab,I dislike his attitude but I believe him coming back will be good for 147,makes for even more great fights. And imo Zab only won 3-4 rounds v Floyd.

Zab's power is over rated at 147.I don't think he hits as hard as Cotto, and if PBF can hurt him to the body,Cotto would break him.And I don't think he is as talented as Cotto. I feel Cotto is the overall better fighter who has proven his heart too( v Torres) If you have a weak jaw,Cotto is the last person you want to face at 147.

Re: Zab to Fight Israel Cardona
This is a fight to make Zab look "super" but we could have another Pineda. I think Zab should win this fight in 6 rounds, if he doesnt then no matter the finish it won't be impressive.
Who said Zab couldn't take Miguel's pressure, I'm not sure Miguel could take Zab's punches.

Re: Zab to Fight Israel Cardona
Cotto would annihilate Zab imo. He knows how to cut the ring off and how to fight a slick southpaw. Zab might land a few good punches but as the rounds go on Cotto would break him down and stop him
-
Re: Zab to Fight Israel Cardona
This is what Zab has come to.....
Israel Cardona..... $100.00 says it won't even make it on tv. 8)

Cause you dont trade with Cotto. You box him and use the jab and footwork. Zab isnt an inside fighter.

Brilliantly done boom-boom.....

clicked you back. I dont think there is a fighter in the world that would beat Cotto in a phone booth fight.. Hatton maybe and possible Castillo....but definately not Zab

Zab can be an inside fighter, he has a very good uppercut and he has a good inside game. Just because he doesn't alway fight on the inside doesn't mean he doesn't have an inside game.

True.
And all I would say to that is Zab was beaten by Baldomir and THAT would end that discussion.
OK... Onto the next thread. (3-0) I'm up....Damn!! Starr being away from here made you rusty on your game.... What happened?
Oh! well which thread you wanna do now?
-
Re: Zab to Fight Israel Cardona
Corley hit Cotto on the top of the head granted, but it was fairly late on, Cotto was still quite inexperienced yet had more than enough composure to get through it, and we all know how bad the weight drain effected him. Zab would never land a shot like that against modern day Cotto at 147, and even if he did, he has no composure, he'd panic, and end up getting sparked out. You know it Starr, you may as well stop posting on Judah related threads, save yourself the embarressment when he gets exposed again. He's a really good fighter, but he is easily beatable, he ain't super for damn sure, he isn't a top dog and never will be.
Oh and quit dissing Malignaggi, he takes a great shot due to his defence, he's a great boxer, but doesn't have the power, but more than twice makes up for that with heart and focused when comparted to Zab.

Starr your diggin now. Zab has a good uppercut but he has a better jab and straight left hand.
He has one style. Im not saying hes one dimentional but hes not and never will be an inside fighter
