I love Floyd but damn, that was a good one.

Here's how this statement should be looked at...in two or three parts...it's true & false...& then it's just Floyd.

#1: No. Hatton is not that big in America & he has been a bit of a let down to American boxing fans...not living up to all the massive hype.

#2: Yes. FLoyd is bigger than Hatton in America...BUT...with Hatton's style & had he been based in America as long as Floyd...he would have had the following of Gatti.

#3: I disagree with Floyd...but I also disagree with what some others have stated on this very thread. No...Floyd's fights do not sell out in 3 hours...but neither do Oscar's.

This is the fight of the decade with two of boxing's most note worthy figures. Floyd has finally made good on his rhetoric... "If it makes dollars it makes sense!" & this fight...it's already made the dollars...& it damned well makes sense.

Now...after Floyd loses to Oscar he'll move back down & beat Hatton & that'll be the end of it. ;D

He's on smack i think. Only 5,000 tickets were made to go on sale to the general public. I wouldn't say selling them inside 3 hours is that much of a big thing. Hatton sold 20,000 for the Kostya Tszyu fight in 2 hours. Beat that floyd!

Oscar didn't sell all those tickets. If Oscar was the sole reason those tickets were being sold then the Mayorga fight would have sold out in 3 hrs aswell. Mayweather was a huge part of the reason that the fight sold out.

Mayweather is fighting pay-per-view because he is fighting Oscar. He has a lot of talent, but the general public just don't like to pay to see him fight. This is different to boxers such as Tyson, Trinidad and Oscar. :crowd:

Mayweather does not have the charisma or the ability to KO that these other fighters have or had.

Although I have to admit that I'm dying to see Meyweather KO, it will be very difficult to see that happening in the near future. And, I agree with you, I see Mayweather winning by UD, although I would prefer to think the opposite way.

And, Hatton... Does not have any chances with Floyd.

Just worth pointing out since people made such a huge deal of his turning down 8 to fight Margarito.. I guess alot of Brits like to get so caught up in the fact that Hatton has more loyal fans, and he can sell alot of tickets fighting just about anybody... Anyone who knows anything about boxing knows about PBF. Most of the people I speak with in England who claim to be "boxing fans" know SFA. Explains why I'm here so much to actually have a proper discussion. Don't mind disagreeing points of view (hell that one of the main benefits of being a boxing fan), but at least have some idea what you are talking about!
